I bought one back in 2017. Trigger is long and heavy and the little thing is like carrying a boat anchor but it does conceal nicely and it is actually pretty accurate. I like mine a lot. I can pull it from any pocket I decide to put it in and have it fired 2x within 3 seconds easily. Even in jeans it doesn't snag.
I decided to buy the RS and it has been my carry gun for over 7 years. I have big hands so I only use the eight round magazine. For over 5 years I never leave home without it. I live in rural North Georgia which is relatively crime-free. Ironically, I had to pull on an idiot with road rage 5 miles from my cabin. It is only the third time I pulled in my life outside of my military service. Great review. Thanks!
These double action only trigger pistols are great for a smaller pocket carry nine. No worries about it accidentally going off in your pocket like a striker fire trigger can. This makes it much safer. This is why I like it. It is also easy to make hits to 25 yards. For a short barrel it is very accurate. The 8 round conceals easy when worn in a holster on your belt due to the narrow single stack grip and it doesn't flop out away from your body because the balance is perfect due to the light polymer frame. Carried in a larger sturdy pocket the pistols 6 round magazine is perfect. Simply draw and fire , no safety to forget to snap off under stress.
They're one of the few brands that are still made in America. I've wore them for years and absolutely love them. I'm also glad to see there's another Roundhouse fan! Lol
Another advantage to the RS is for dry fire practice - good to do with a gun with a different trigger. I love mine. I've shot a full USPSA event with mine - about 400 rounds through the gun in a couple hours.
Great video, brother. Straightforward, and genuine. Your review was one of the first few to pop up when I searched for ‘Sig P290RS’. I’m keen to check out more of your content. And keep on rocking those overalls. After Christ, our wives, and John Moses Browning, overalls are one of the greatest gifts God’s given to man. Peace.
Just got my Vedder pocket kydex holster. It's a great option if you wear a tucked shirt in hot weather. Muddy River Tactical makes a similar holster too
I bought my wife the rainbow version 4 or 5 years back and yesterday I bought my own in nitron with maybe snake grips. Same price but no holster no 2nd mag and a cardboard box... and most importantly no flippin sticker!!!! Cheers from Indiana
Thanks for the video. Just purchased this little 9mm as a birthday present. I needed a micro carry and the price was right 👍. Also I loved the look and the way it felt in my hands. I think this is going to be a keeper. (Smile) Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy. Peace.
Hey, just wanted to complement you on your review - there are not all that many on the P290 and virtually none of those are evaluations after having the firearm for a long time. I was gifted a P290RS, one with a silver slide and the proprietary laser. It was not an ideal first handgun - probably isn't an ideal first gun for for most people. I found it hard to grasp with the short grip, snappy, and the trigger pull long and hard - and it is hard to take down until you get the hang of it. I'm sure the trigger would break in as you say. For me, the gun now mostly sits in a safe, replaced by an LCP Max for pocket carry, and a P365XL for IWB. I did want to point out, though, that the P290 fills an underserved little niche in terms of micro 9mms. There definitely are those that either don't want a safety, or else don't feel safe without a safety in a striker fired weapon, which almost all of these little 9's are. There are very few, if any, DAO (or even DA/SA) hammer fired weapons anywhere close to the P290's size class - maybe the Px4 Storm SubCompact comes close. So if you value the peace of mind that comes with the DA pull, this can be a real interesting little gun. Glad you like yours.
I rocking the same 380 LCP max for pocket and the P365 XL w/romeo and winter I have the new Springfield XDM Elite 10mm and it is just getting crazy speeds out of a small package, the Glock 29 I would have to spend $1500 to get it how I wanted unfortunately
This is a great pistol to carry and shoot. Fantastic fit and function. Too bad it is not self-cleaning as I have never experienced another semi-auto handgun that is more of a pain in the ass to disassemble/reassemble. I owned one, loved it for about two weeks then traded it to some other poor fool. I believed he kept it for about a month before giving it the boot as well. God bless the P365 huh?
Nothing is better than watching your videos after school.
Cheers from Italy!
I find your reviews to be accurate without bias...thank you.

Lmao u not lying my guy that lil gun is a lil brick but lovely gun sadly got rid of mines and now they don't sell at academy
@@arthursalinas2240 They've been discontinued. Why? Not popular enough I guess.
I've had one for two or three years, never a hiccup out of it. It's my daily pocket carry. Disassembly is a pain, otherwise it's a good little pistol.
Great review!
Bought mine used in 2020 for 250, I love it, carry it every day with me in the swamp.

Agreed. I have mine on me right now and expect to for years to come!
Awesome review, man! You have sold me on this pistol.
I have the same gun and bibs. Great to see your wearing roundhouse denim.

Thank you sir! Lol and I couldn't agree more
Thanks for this excellent review. I made the decision to purchase this and I'm glad I did. Thanks again. 👍
Mine is the regular p290 . The trigger feels like about 4.5lbs but the first thing I noticed was the lack of restrike. Got the laser too
Just got my Vedder pocket kydex holster. It's a great option if you wear a tucked shirt in hot weather. Muddy River Tactical makes a similar holster too
I like them so well that I bought two. They are the smallest and most shootable handgun that I've ever easily carried in a pocket.
The trigger is an acquired taste, but once you get comfortable with it they're great!

That is a cool handgun. Gonna add it to my collection. Gr8 vid. U r a natural. Aloha from Hawaii.
My favorite carry gun. It's like driving a Rolls Royce vs. most brands are Corollas.
Thanks for the video.

If you have the SIG factory laser the gun locks in the holster. That’s the way mine came.
If you have the 380 version the Colt mustang mags will work as well
Subbed! great video! keep it up!
Great review sir
Much appreciated!

Crazy that Sig would include that holster, seeing how it still leaves the trigger area exposed
Wouldn’t carry anything other than a DA only trigger. Thanks for the video.
Good vid
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing
Do you know if the sights are interchangeable with any other Sigs? P938 maybe? I'm partial to XS Big Dots.
I'm sorry, I honestly don't know about that. This is the only Sig I own.
Too bad they stopped making this little fellow

You didn’t field strip … in the field
The picture
Running of take
After few yrs night sights wont illuminate. Trigger is too long. Buy a 365x or a hellcat
I hate this thing. Slides easy to rack thats about the only positive i can say for it lol
