Buck 110 review after carrying for 9 years
Thanks Hillbilly. I wooby checking these out.
I like this review. It is straightforward and to the point. If you're model has the 14c 28N steel, you should be able to keep it sharp indefinitely with the honing rod. 14c 28N has good toughness and wear resistance. In fact, this steel is as capable as most people will ever need.
Greetings Sir From East Coast Canada & It's A Damn Shame Today- Ontario Knife Company Is Non Existent !! I Personally Loved Their Knives But I Found In The Last Few Years The Quality Control Just Went To Hell In A Hand Basket !! Oh Well Ya Got A Beautiful Knife There.
I've Got Two Of Them Love Them Thanks For A Great Review...
My knife is the Case XX over all others. I do own several buck knives but i own more Case XX knives than all combined and thats way more than most.
i prefer a schrade 125ot
What the neck happened to the tip of that knife? Its rounded instead of factory pointed? Has it been improperly sharpened?
If you can find them a five pound coffee grounds can of a paint can work well, I had a Scout Troop build some about 15 years back. Can openers and tin snips were used.
"Full tang with a rat tail" 😂 id1ot
This is in my pocket when I venture out. Fits my hand perfect and opens easy. I did remove the clip and filed the thumb studs down a bit.
I ordered a 722 in magnacut and marbled carbon for 160 from the custom shop
People confuse Buck's 420 HC with the cheaper, lower quality 420 j steel. 420 j steel will not hold an edge like 420 HC, and is usually found in inexpensive knives, although Buck knives are not expensive compared to most other brands. 120 years in business. Do you think they put low quality products on the market and still continue to grow as a company? I think not. Thanks for the video. Great topic.
great video, just earned a like
I truly don't understand the homage that people pay to the 110. Not only is it not the best knife ever made, it's not even the best knife I own.
Forgot to mention…Liked and subbed.
Fantastic Review! Thank you for taking the time. I rarely post…Well now I am in a dilemma. I normally prefer a knife with a clip for EDC in the pocket and I have many knives, some much more expensive SOGs with the fancy steel and handles, etc. but the funny thing is a couple years ago I bought a (Cheap) Buck 311 Drop-point Kingsman with 420 J2 steel 2 3/4 inch - I think it may be an exclusive design for Canadian Tire?? (Normally $22 CDN on sale now for $11.99). Maybe not the hardest steel in the World but they must have done something right with the hardening because I love it for everyday use and it is easy to sharpen quickly which I don’t mind. It has displaced many other knives that sit in my safe. Lately I have been fixated on the 110 classic Buck because of the ebony, brass and robust build. What held me back is the size with no clip. I’ve been trying to decide between the 3 diff sizes (110, 112 or the half-sized 055). This review and reading the comments here has turned it up a notch LOL. I can’t take it any more so I think I’ll start with the 110, but deep down I know I will likely end up with all three eventually. I guess I can wear the 110 or 112 in the sheath on a belt. I just love the look of ebony and brass together in such a quality build. They currently sell for $99.99 CDN at Bass Pro but a friend got one on sale last year at Peavey Mart for $49. I was waiting for a sale after hearing that but may have to bite the bullet at $99.99 (current exchange is about 1.38 so $73 US without Tax of 11%). Things have changed in 4 years LOL.
Correct me if in wrong. Designed in 1963 came into production in 1964. Good video my friend.
My sleep system for the last 5 years: utopia polar fleece blanket, the Mexican woven blanket, and an Artucus wool blanket. All layered appropriately to the current temperature.
Thanks Champ!!🔥🫡
not watched think you might fail due to amount small bits hope i wrong ....now to watch and see. nice was wrong good work
Hahaha Boy you make it look like s 112 !! Just got my first buck, turns out to be a 110 from my birth year wich is a nice surprise did not even know when i bought it
Rarely is this the cause. It’s either the bar rails need dressed, or the rakers(depth gauges) are not at the correct height to the corresponding cutters. Or both.
Life saver!!!!
4inch handle…I’m familiar with this length
Lmao
Greetings friend, know this is an older video, watched before; did not comment. Swapped a buddy for my 110, don't carry often , but enjoy having this American classic! Also enjoyed all the positive comments from other viewers! Glad Buck is still in business, pray they continue for many more years, Blsgs, gg🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋☝️☝️☝️
I can speak for Kershaw's CS. After my second torsion bar broke in my Blur, I sent in a request for two. They sent me 10!
MINE IS A 112
Fantastic alternative to a Spyderco, hollow grind blade and made in the USA 🇺🇸
Or you need to dress your bar and make it true on both side
Kershaw is highly underrated, especially the USA made ones... I have a random leek as my EDC, will buy a Blur on sale next.
How’s your knife since the review would like to know thanks
Thank-you
Bar is worn, flaten rails with a flat file
but my bar is new & original, happen in second cut after i flip it
Its sunday im off lol
Cutting curves is also a sign of a bent bar. So try sharpening first if that doesn’t help replacing the bar will.
Brother never seen you before, and you are a big boy haha, but my question is how do you keep your buck so clean, for the video?
Wouldn't sharpening both side fix it? Or is it more because the teeth are a bigger size compared to the other?
If One SIDE is more sharpe Will cut Faster than the other SIDE. Is more about how sharpe they are than the size of the thee . Also uneven bar rails
@@BernardoSantoseCastro yeah then you have to match it to the sharpness of the other side or it would just pull in the other direction, so do both sides.
Thought it meant that they sold you the wrong saw. If you're right handed you need a chainsaw made for right hand use. Same fir left handed.
That's like how I file the back of each tooth , so when I draw the saw back towards me, it will cut wood as I draw it back. So I cut in both directions ,pushing the saw in and back.
@@billtmarchi4320very funny comment. Most people watching this probably believe that lol
A couple weeks ago I got the black tanto Blur. Loved it so much i got this one. Now I already have about 10 knives 🤣
Would you feel safe ordering another knife from them? I just ordered the outlander as a SHTF knife but now I’m a little worried.
What's up, bro. Thanks for this video. I've had this knife for at least 15 years. My Dad also has it. Years ago he lost his knife and wanted a new one but he was being picky, especially about one hand opening a knife. I bought 4 knives and let him pick one for Christmas. He chose the Buck Spitfire. I haven't carried this knife a lot but I have used it. It is amazingly sleek and solid. An excellent representation of Buck's quality. Mine is green, which they don't even make anymore.
Picked up a couple of the 50th Anniversary 110s . wish I bought more . they were on sale . I also have an old Schrade from when I was a Teenager . it's built like a 110 . the 110 Bucks have gone up in price like everything lately .
Thank you for this informative upload. Your knowledge and experience is very much appreciated. Keep informing the people...
Picked up that exact one here in South Africa for equivalent of $55
No, the older models were made out of 5160. I have one.
I can’t find the tan one anywhere
eBay
Thank you for the Buck 110 long term service review. A good knife makes work easier. Liked and subscribed to your channel
Found an Old Hickory butcher’s knife in the trash as a kid and used it as a kid sized machete for. Most of my childhood! I have always found them to punch way above their weight class!
good review! I actually really like the look of this knife, also the belly helps with deep cuts
Thank you for this information.
Mine from 1991 is still in great shape. Bought an 055 as companion last year, I nearly like it even better! I just ordered some overalls from Round House. I can tell you're a fella that likes well-made things.
