  • I really love this, I hope this type of “Swag” tent picks up by us brits as it’s such a better set up then what I used before.

    Great video buddy! The tent may have been overshadowed by your incredible knot tying skills! Haha cheers 🙌🏼

    Do a video on that knot right there! Thanks for the video I’m probably buying the toucan this weekend after watching all these videos. I have a canvas roof top tent on my land cruiser and it’s bulletproof and great for ventilation. I realize this is larger when packed down and heavier but I’m sure I can make it work on my adventure bike.

      @ejoemoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, yeah well them knots are just me pretending to show I know what I’m doing! 😂 as for the toucan, after uploading this video I’m not sure I made it clear on just how light weight it is! My old set up consisted of a two man tent, sleeping bag and a poor excuse for a roll mat and that felt twice as heavy as the toucan but only a fraction smaller. The toucan is really a fine piece and I’m sure you want be disappointed with it! 👌 thanks for the comment!

    Would the Toucan be too big or heavy for my Royal Enfield Classic 500? It suits my needs if it would work out OK.
    Enjoyed the video thank you.

      Very difficult to say as I’ve not ridden one of them yet. But I know the size of the toucan can look overwhelming but it’s far from uncontrollable when on the bike. I would say if you want extra comfort and space when sleeping go for the toucan but if you want portability go for the goose. The sizes are only slightly different and they do roll up tighter then shipped after use so it depends on your needs. Roll something up to the dimensions and have a visual. Regardless of your choice, these tents are the absolute best! 👌 hope this helped?

    Would you recommend it?

    • @ejoemoto
      @ejoemoto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally would but a lot of people are hating on them. I think the built quality is off the scales amazing and I sleep extremely well in it, but if you’re wanting something more then a all in one tent and wanna throw parties in one then I would recommend not going camping at all and go and book to stay in a cabin. 😂 I’ve had people say that they would at least like a tent they can stand up in but I like proper camping where I’m there for the experience and the thrill of camping. Im planning on doing a follow up video when I start camping again in a couple of weeks, to express my admiration for this beautiful thing! Cheers for the comment! 🙌

      Thanks for the comment mate!
      So this tent is Fantastic! I’ve used it a lot and in most conditions (haven’t used it in snow! Lol) there has been mix reviews by people, but the negative ones are from people who don’t own one or are wanting something different then this style of tent.
      Majority of the comments state that they want to at least be able to sit up inside a tent, but I’ve found from camping throughout the years, that if I’m camping and I need to sit around it’s not usually inside a tent. I’m planning to do a follow up video but every time I’ve gone camping with it, I’ve enjoyed it so much I’ve not taken the time to do a specific video! I’m planning to go camping again to specifically tell my opinions regarding it… there are some downside but it’s obviously specific to my needs.

    Not really enough room for 2 people . Its more of a fat lads tent , if they wanted to give it a bird name they should have called it the 'Wingman Gannet'! As a fat lad i will get one asap!!!

    • @ejoemoto
      @ejoemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you again, for the kind words! I’m learning more each time I film and edit!
      I have yet to take it out on the scrambler, but definitely planning too soon and to film it! I haven’t invested in a rear luggage rack yet, but I know the scrambler seat is equipped with some anchor points (which I don’t feel they could handle the weight) but that is something I will be addressing on a review video I’m planning on doing in the near future. 🙌👌

    • @sailingripalong1639
      @sailingripalong1639 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I mean is, in your view does it make sense on the XE stowage-wise? With the Toucan on the seat, maybe a pannier on the left - interested in your thoughts re Toucan on the XE as opposed to say your HD.

    • @ejoemoto
      @ejoemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sailingripalong1639 oh yeah, of course. So, before I bought the toucan and the scrambler, wingman of the Road actually posted a photo with the toucan strapped up on the scrambler XE, which look great! They had it on a luggage rack (but I didn’t see anything else on the bike! I.e panniers etc…) but knowing what I’ve done on the bike so far, it will have no problem with weight. But I haven’t even put the toucan on the bike yet, but there’s a triumph OEM dry bag that looks similar in size that they show strapped to the seat on these ties down points under the seat, so I’m hopeful in thinking that these points can be used with some rok straps to tie the toucan down! I’ll keep you posted on the movements with this as a video will be done soon! 👍🏻

      @@ejoemoto Great - thanks for the reply, I'll keep my eyes peeled for yr next video on that. Yes I've seen a couple of YT films of guys fitting the OEM drybag which, as you say, attaches to the loops under the seat. Of course the great appeal of the Toucan is the tent, bag and mat all in one - vs my existing 2-man tent separate bag and separate mat which wd probably need the XE luggage rack fitting to carry it all. Not sure how much strain the wallet can take at the mo but I'm going to have to spend either way...

    Nice set up. But for the price you can get something lighter and twice the size. I think its way over priced. Nice? Yes. But over weight, over priced and packs down way to big. I gueds for those that dont mind heavyduty overweight expensive small tents, its perfect for them. I have twice the room and paid half as much for my Nemo Galaxy 2p tent. And weighs 1/3 the amount, 100% water proof and packs down small. I get it, these are nice, just not for most.

    • @timothyletwin5911

      It's just the price you pay for a canvas tent. More security, durability, and the cool factor.

      @@timothyletwin5911 it does look awesome. I like my Nemo tent. Lightweight, roomy, waterproof and has lasted me 5 years of motocamping and still looks new. Cost me $130 on sale. Nemo Galaxy 2p. Doesnt look as good and must say on cold nights with most of it being netting, it vents a bit too much.

    Just ordered mine (well, the goose as I'm on a naked so wanted to conserve as much space as possible), I can't wait! Did the tent poles for the awning come with it or is this your addition? Thanks for the setup video!

    • @ejoemoto
      @ejoemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re from an old cheap tent but well worth getting some and putting them in with the rest of your polls, doesn’t effect the roll when packing up. I’m planning to do a review with what I’ve found with this tent but put it this way, I’ve not got anything bad to say about it at the moment…
      Little tip: when packing it up, roll it all up, tie it up then unroll and then tighten cords and then re-roll for a much tighter roll (but you already knew that of course😂). Difficult to explain but easy to show on a video hence and follow up vid! 👍🏻🙌 enjoy
