    I'm impressed all that gear can get hung on the bike. When I solo on my Interceptor the word remote refers to the one, I use to change the channel at the Motel Tv. When I do a tent trip.... I have a Classic 500 Bullet and Cozy sidecar. .. 3 man tent, air mattress, air pump, sleeping bag, pillows (2), lantern, chairs (2) clothes, large plastic ground cloth, (2).... small stove (gas), and more... local trips and 1300-mile round trips. I enjoy solo time.. solo trips on the Interceptor... but not tent camping. I use a tank bag, saddle bags.... (panniers Carvins) and hit the road. Keep giving everyone the inspiration to get out and enjoy their backyard. 😎

      Thanks, buddy, I will! I was just thinking I need to go for a trip again, just waiting for the weather to settle a little bit. It has been one storm after another, not great for tent camping...
      On the amount of gear. I try really really hard to travel light on this one night trips. But still come overpacked but under equipped, if you know what I mean... ))

    Each to his own and all that but even if it incorporates a mat and bag, that is one big lump! Many have said the bag isn't up to much either and the mat is on the thin side.
    Did you ride off without your backpack😂. The size of the Wingman along with the size of your backpack was a lot to carry for one night away. No spare clothes, washing gear etc either. Looked fun though. Good luck to you.

    • @motohobo
      @motohobo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you could add panniers. The point I was making is that you were carrying an awful lot of bulk for one night away. But as I said, each to his own. I've been moto camping for over 45years and have have teied just about every system. Started off in 1976 on a Suzuki GT500 with a crappy thin sleeping bag and an industrial size thick dustbin bag😂. We'd pull up just out of the town we were visiting, hop over a gate into a farmers field or whatever, roll out the sleeping bag and pop it into the dustbin bag. Did get clammy and a fair bit of condensation though🤣. But we were young, hard and didn't need the comfort I do now😢. Then in the morning it was just roll it up, back on the bikes and into town for a lovely big fry up and mug of tea somewhere. Bloody hell, those were the days🤣

    I did 4700 miles (around 7500km) on my Yamaha road star camping in august in the United States. My main issue was that bike is over 800 lbs (370kgm) which is a little heavy pulling into campsites with gravel. Plus, with over 70,000 miles on the year 2000 bike, I might need something newer and lighter. Thinking about the 650 Int

      @davidrawlings3460 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @maxkumskoy that's a fair comment, I looked at lot at getting one too. I like the idea of an all in one system too. But for more than 1 night at a time. Not being able to cook under it or get dressed easily I think it would grind on me after a while. I am glad you mounted it to the bike the right way also,wouldn't fancy it falling on me in the night. But keep up the good work and videos coming 👏

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidrawlings3460 thanks David! All valid points - this tent won’t work for a serious camping adventure. Getting in and out is difficult and taking pants off(don’t even mind changing) is extremely effective fitness exercise. But for a single night ‘alone’ experience - is perfect! Exactly how I imagined it.
      First I put the tent on the left side of the bike, and then I had the same thought about it falling over me. So I changed sides. But now I am thinking that it is less like the bike to fall to the left because the kick stand is there, but if someone intentionally hit it it may fall to the right. This system is not for the faint hearted adventurers!
      Thanks for your compliments! Will do my best with the channel!

    I just discovered your channel looking for the Interceptor 650 and what people experience with it. you just seem to have recently upgraded from another bike. I like the style of your bike, wouldn't have thought i like the blue so much on it, also the brown color is matching nicely, suits your over all style pretty good. My first thought on the tent was its pretty oversized for travelling with a motorcycle when packed up but then i saw its strong canvas and read its an 3 in 1 with mattress and blanket built in, so its actually pretty good and easy to use.
    Man, i constantly think about going for a camping trip with my bike and you do what i just keep imagining. Ive got a 22 years old bmw r1150r, comfortable for long day trips and equipped with two strong plastic cases on the side. Looking forward to see more of your videos. Subscribed.

      Hi Tobi! Thanks for watching and subscribing! You are right, recently upgraded from another bike and have been enjoying the interceptor since then! Wonderful machine.
      The tent is very well built, I spent only two nights in it but the experience was enjoyable. If you accept that it is small, you start enjoying it!

      @thesundayrides  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi John! Thanks for the feedback! It is pricy indeed, but on another hand - the quality is top-notch, very well built using proper materials. The fact that it is a 3-in-1 system somehow compensates the price. Its use is limited to sleeping only, you can't cook or even sit in it. but like you said, it was designed for 1-2 days trip and is perfect for that in my opinion.
      It is super easy to set it up and take it down. not more than 10 minutes. the mattress is soft, the sleeping bag is warm, and there is an awning to cover your bags, food, boots, helmet, etc.
      The camping chair is a cheap chair from Amazon. To be honest, I bought it for another reason and didn't use it. It was just buried in the trunk of my car until I realized it was good for camping.
      I am searching for good destinations to camp, not too far away from London, so there will be more camping videos coming.
