    Relief is just a pinned seam away! Thank you for your articulate refresher course as I have been away from Friendship Stars too long. Basics-and-fundamentals win the game, but I've been on hiatus from my volunteer quilting group at the medical center, making quilts for cancer patients undergoing various therapies.

    This is a LIFE SAVER! I was struggling to try and hand sew these squares together and thought I was a FAILURE as a seamstress. Thank you so much for this!

    You make it look so easy! Thank you - there are so many quilt videos but yours are by far the simplest and clearest to understand.

    My friend asked me to make her son a quilt for his birthday like this. I’ve never made one before but I sew taggy blankets, burp cloths, bibs, etc and so I thought I could do it... your video made me think for sure I can do this. I’m nervous but I know she will appreciate it no matter what. Thank you for really nice and clear instructions!

    Thank you so much for this. I just got my mother's old all metal machine fixed and I wanted to make a basic square block quilt but couldn't figure out how to add the rows together. One tutorial I saw said that you don't go over the seams because then it becomes bulky but when I tried that the squares didn't lay right. This will make things so much easier. Again thank you so much

    Hi Jenny, so I did my very first quilt, my squares were all done in the hoop machine embroidery but when the piecing came about I was so excited I totally forgot to make sure all my seams were going all the same way and now I have bulk, seams going all different ways. The top of the quilt looks awesome but now I would like to get it quilted and Im hoping when I take it in tomorrow they are able to help me fix it or give me advice so it can be quilted ...Love your video I am going to save it for my next quilt ...

    If you’re doing longer rows would you still do it this way? I’m doing 12 blocks across the top and wondering if best to do row by row or start making 2x2 blocks and gradually sewing all those together
    I just don’t want it to come out skewed at the end

    Your video was great! I wasn't sure if I should alternate or butterfly the seams. This made so much sense; you made it look so easy! I'm so rubbish though. At least 1/3 of my squares don't fit. I'm certain the bias is different and some stretched. Not all my corners meet 😭

    What kind of thread is recommended to sew a quilt top together in rows? Machine quilting? Reg Polyester thread? Cotton? Is machine quilting thread too strong?

    Do you not back-stitch at the ends? Wont the stitches come out?

    • @stephaniesnape6787
      @stephaniesnape6787 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Carissa, because it is a quilt made of patchwork you don’t need to backstitch like you would on ordinary sewing projects. Your binding will also work to ‘seal’ the work. Best, Steph

      Then you get your seam ripper out and undo all the sticker and redo the row...Make sure you feel for the seams to lock into one ANOTHER.. I used to have the same problem, STILL do sometimes, everyone does, but I get them right lined up most times noem it's all about making more and MORE small projects till your really good them quilts are a breeze. Lol good luck I'm still learning too. I'm pretty new to all this still..
