- KZN Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi denies his officers shoot first and ask questions later. He says their main objective is to arrest suspects so they can appear in court. But, sometimes they resist arrest which ends in shootouts. This follows a gun battle on Tuesday in Inanda, which led to the deaths of 3 suspects. Mkhwanazi says killing suspects takes a toll on crime-fighting efforts. #enca #dstv403

Do your work officers. Don't be deterred by clueless media.
The media is just making everyone be cautious because this kind of behavior is going to end up with innocent people getting hurt by cops.
Well i do not think an Armed Criminal is going to talk first and shoot'''' Our Police Officers need to be a step ahead to protect themselves'' May God keep them protected as they carry-out their grueling tasks'''
What part of this conversation is it you don't understand ????
Its a battlefield out the 🔥... Police lives are at stake... They can't ask questions while criminals are loaded
@akouayangmotau2667 our media is so demonic Criminals don't negotiate they kill first 😢 when officers are killed they say police are not well trained
Even if they shoot first asinankinga, sikhathele ubugebengu
When criminals shoot at the Police they don't negotiate with the Police but they shoot because they want to evade arrest. Tell me, what should the Police do in that situation, negotiate?😮

Since police are actually fighting crime criminals are gun shy now kzn is a violent province the police have a right to defend themselves and innocent victims of crime
Take no prisoner approach
This is the only guy I currently trust to be a provincial commisioner. Consider he has probably the most difficult province to run, he does si with flying colours. His decision making is excellant, without fear or favour, he is straight forward and a fresh breeze in comparrison with the other 8 provicial commisioners. He is an great example of what SA need as a police commander.
Ppl of SA don't really know what they want, i mean many policemen/women are killed and when are killed they say its because the law is on the side of criminals and when they shoot back and kill criminals they complain that they kill first and ask later. My queation is, if you gind yourself in a sitution like that, whereby criminals start shooting at you, then who are you going to ask, because the situation needs you to to take a quick decision within a short space of time. It's either you survive or die. Please lets be seroius and commend this men/women in blue for a stelling job they're doing to protect ppl of this country, eapecially in KZN.
It's like a Trevor Noah joke. "Hey you, my man, no, not you, the the one with the gun that's shooting at me. Before I shoot back, can I just ask, what do want my man?" 😂😂😂
This country is cooked hey.... 😳
wild that this is even a topic of discussion.
Fighting for the rights of armed criminals.😂
We beyond backwards.
You clearly don't know how corrupt Durban cops are
This comment of yours was supposed to have been in CAPS. Powerful stuff!
Um yes .... lets have a conversation Mr Criminal with a gun who is shooting at me. Police have every right to shoot first - if they didn't there wouldn't be ''ask questions later''. Clearly I am a fan of Nhlanhla Mkwanazi.

From April-September last year in South Africa, 66 South African Police Officers were killed. Whether you agree with it or not police members do the work most of us will never do,and they go where most will never go, but people criticize them from the comfort and safety of their own home. If it was so easy for the police to shoot first and ask questions later, do you think we as a country would lose 66 officers in six months ?
Whatever Captain let them talk we sick and tired of crime you're our last hope Cele failed us
What else would you have him say?

No tears for criminals. And let us citizens have the right to defend ourselves. Only criminals have firearms, SAPS is understaffed, often inept and regularly corrupted from the top down.

We are the most violent democracy on the planet, we are held hostage in our own country by ruthless criminals, AND THIS IS A TOPIC AND QUESTION THE MEDIA IS ASKING?! 😂 what a joke.
Gen. N. Mkhwanazi is proving to be a waste of a resource by only being limited to operate in KZN alone, when the whole country is desparate for such a committed leader.
The commissioner is reading a speech mxm ..
Why all energy and resources in KZN?
It is questionable that all 8 suspects be killed, and non surrendered or just got injured.
I think the police must also come to you, clearly you are involved in crime.

Ive not been an angel but i have good manners and I know how to handle myself. My interactions with the police have never created the need for violence and my one experience in custody was kinda pleasant, if i was a tourist arrested for something stupid the saps treated me with the same respect i showed them.

Mkhwanazi once put it that their main job is to arrest these criminals so that they can question them and give them information about their criminal friends. He said that when you kill them, you lose that privilege because other criminals assimilate into communities. Their intention as police is to arrest because there is a benefit from arresting these criminals but if criminals choose to shoot police who are there to arrest them then I am afraid police will have no choice but to retaliate fatally so. Personally I blame criminals in all these. Why can't they surrender themselves? Do you want to tell me that police are shooting at these criminals while they have surrendered?
Its actually better that way , SF~AL

That is nonsense do they ask when they rob o kill innocent ppl yahlanya
If police do not shoot first all the time then the KZN businessman Thabiso Ngcobo would have not been shot in a hail of bullets. If Thabisos car was not bullet proof then he would have probably died and police would have probably claimed that he shot at them first and then they retaliated. At least 9 of the police officers involved in shooting at Thabisos car have been charged with attempted murder and have been released on bail. The police claim that it was a case of mistaken identity, however that still does not justify the fact that they shot at Thabisos car first without them being in any immediate danger whatsoever. Here is a link to the story which I am talking about: th-cam.com/video/y7w4WpcC6NI/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugxhe0SYoSa2iLSm5oR4AaABAg
Very true. But they'll get away because it's the white owned media that help them paddle their lies about being shot first. Plus our courts and justice system are still apartheid systems so they are happy to see black people die
