I love that moment of Batman laughing. Outside of his whole "agent of the night, I am vengeance" spiel, people often forget that he was a kid too, and he never really had a childhood due to his parents dying. So him being soft to kids that might not wake up tomorrow was nice to see.
Also, it's a relief seeing superheroes just being good people after reading Avengers Vs. X-Men last night.
Yeah there are a few other comics where he’s been very sweet to kids. Especially if there’s danger, he almost always rescues the kids and makes sure they are out of danger/wait for the police with them even if it means a villain slip away.

@firstlast9846 Are you thinking of Shazam, the wizard who gave Captain Marvel his powers? There’s a scene in Superman/Captain Marvel: First Thunder where Superman yells at Shazam for forcing superhero responsibilities on a child.
This, this right here is what I want from the new superman movie, I don't want mindless action or flashy visuals I want to see a story about a guy with insane superpowers who uses them to make the world a better place because it's just who he is.
*That’s what I’m sayin* this movie doesn’t need a whole lot of action - it just needs to remind the audience that superman is interesting.. something the old DCEU failed to do.

A great wholesome moment for not only Superman, but for the justice league. A nice Superman story helping some sick kids to have a good day. A sign of the humanity that Superman always has, reminds me why I love the character and consider him the greatest superhero of all.
It would be great if DC did a villain follow up to this story.
They could have one of the kids post about their day with the heroes on social media and Joker gets jealous a kid told a joke that made Batman smile, so he kidnaps a bunch of Gotham sick kids and takes them on a tour of Arkham.
Batman is all about striving for redemption with his villains, so you show the kids being scared at first but Joker is honestly trying to top the superheroes, so he's acting like a genuinely entertaining clown.
He makes balloon animals for the kids, his pants drop and he has boxers on with puppies and kittens, he "tries" to acid a kid's face but the flower doesn't work and when he turns it on himself to check it he "accidentally" shoots himself in the eye.
Show the other Arkham villains playing along.
A sick little girl with a plant in a pot tells Poison Ivy her sister gave her the plant so she wouldn't be lonely in the hospital when her family isn't there. The girl talks to it all the time and takes good care of it and the plant tells Ivy that, so Ivy takes the girl for a tour of her garden.
The girl gets a little sad and tells Ivy that Ivy's plants have so many friends and now she's worried that her plant is lonely. Ivy tells her when she gets better, her plant can come and live with Ivy's plants and that makes both the girl and the plant happy. End the scene with Ivy and the girl hugging and the girl's plant moving and touching the girl, taking part in the hug.
Cut to Two-Face brooding in his cell, not taking part. He sees a kid standing in front of his glass window, the kid's eyes visible but body shrouded in shadow. Two-Face yells at the kid to either quit staring or come closer to the window if he's brave enough.
The kid steps into the light and he's covered in bandages, but you can clearly see burn scarring. He's holding a partially charred teddy bear. Two-Face features soften and his voice bubble switches from Face's harsh dialogue text to Harvey Dent's.
He asks the kid his name and the kid says "Denton". He says, "Hi Denton, I'm Harvey." He asks Denton about his teddy bear and Denton explains it was his only possession to survive the fire at his apartment. Harvey exits his cell through his unlocked door and sits against his cell window next to Denton.
He asks about Denton's family and Denton starts to cry and tells him he's the only one who survived the fire. Batman got there before the fire department did and Denton's mom insisted Batman get Denton to safety first.
Harvey asks how Denton's been doing in the hospital. Denton tells him that he stays in a special hospital that Mr. Bruce Wayne owns, that everyone there has their care paid for.
Harvey smiles and tells Denton, "You know what? I know Bruce Wayne. He lost his parents when he was a kid, too. He's a good person... and a good friend."
Show more scenes with kids interacting with rogues and end it with the GCPD outside and Batman showing up to confront Joker. The kids all cheer when Batman shows up and Joker asks, "What joke could a kid have possibly told you that would make you smile?" Batman tells Joker the joke but the kids can't hear what Batman says.
Joker's face looks blank and then he chuckles and laughs maniacally. He waves his hands and says, "Okay, that one got me, too. Heh! Alright, kids! Shows over! The bat has officially pooped on this party!"
Pretty rough I know, but it's off the top of my head. Something along those lines would be fun.

This Superman is what's missing in the big screen, I hope James Gunn can make something even remotely close to the core of Superman.
I love the twisted, warped stories you cover because they show how out-there and different comics stories can get. And, I love these occasional bright moments you recount too -- they're like punctuation marks for that statement of comics' range.
This was so wholesome I’ve always loved this side to the dc comics it shows that something can be incredible without having to be about massive battles with cosmic entities or indestructible gods it could just be about the little things and it makes the characters feel so much more human

Can you do a video series where you just start recounting the most wholesome heroic moments of Superman? People nowadays are so lost on who this man really is. We need videos like this to remind everyone who Superman really is.
Sometimes I miss this good-old-fashioned boy-scout Superman. Because I've had enough with his evil versions like Injustice, Homelander and Omni man
The new animated movies also makes him very prideful which I hate.
Those 3 have tainted the brand.
@@WannabeWryter Omni-Man and Homelander are brilliant anti-heroes/villains that have their own reason to exist. Not every hero is a good person and that's awesome.
@mist2961 They, along with Injustice, tainted the Superman Public brand because now people (yourself included) believe dont think the words "hero" and "good person" aren't synonymous. To be a decent superhero, you have to be a good person and care about people otherwise your just a jack ass with superpowers (which we have enough of) Omni-man and Home-lander are many things (most of horrible) but Heroes ain't one of them.
Omni man was never evil he was a good guy all along
as someone who has seen family members and friends go through cancer (I had just lost my mom to this painful disease a few months ago, after a battle that had gone on and off five times since '95) this comic really hits home. My heart goes out to every child, adult, and even animal who is currently fighting this battle. And for those of us who are not going through it, maybe we can all try to be a hero for the ones in this battle. A kind word of support, a deed that can put a smile on their faces, we don't have to be Superman or the Justice League to show our support and compassion.
Honestly im shocked that many people go "I HATE SUPERMAN BECAUSE HES TOO OP AND DOESNT HAVE A PERSONALITY THIS THAT THOSE!!!" Then when you ask them how they know about superman, they just say "oh i watched the live action movies"
This is the real superman, the guy who believes in santa (thats what all great superman have in common and you cant change my mind) and will do anything in his power to keep everyone safe and happy, like inviting his alien friend to his parents house or having a bunch of sick kids have the best day of their (dwindling) lives

This Superman story encapsulates the reason why he isn't just another superpowered hero that is one-dimensional which is what many surface level superhero fans think. Superman isn't just a superhero, he is also a hero. He saves lives, but he also goes out of his way to makes lives better. He inspires hope but also embodies it. He is both a god and a man.
I legit can't think of a more wholesome character in the superhero genre, other than maybe Jeff the Land Shark and his adventures.

It's really nice seeing superheros helping specific people. I'm so used to conflict with superman like Injustice that it's easy to forget superman's a truly good guy.

Lately I've been following Twitter accounts that post stories of people doing things like this. It really brightens my day and outlook on the world.

The joke that kid told to Batman:
See, there were these two guys in a lunatic asylum... and one night, they decide they don't like living in an asylum any more. They decide they're going to escape! So, like, they get up onto the roof, and there, just across this narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in the moon light... stretching away to freedom. Now, the first guy, he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend didn't dare make the leap. Y'see, he's afraid of falling. So then, the first guy has an idea... He says 'Hey! I have my flashlight with me! I'll shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk along the beam and join me!' But the second guy just shakes his head. He says... He says "What do you think I am? Crazy? You'd turn it off when I was half way across!"

my favorite superman stories aren't the ones where he's punching the biggest enemy in the room like darkseid or braniac. It's the ones where he does non violent thing that help people, like preventing a girls suicide, saving a kid from his abusive father, or all this. It shows he's more than just an "I win" button for every fight. He's a man who's purpose is to help everyone, not just win every fight.

Those kids got to live a Superfriends episode for a day, and that is awesome. I like to think Batman put on his best "lunch time with Robin and Batgirl" smile before being told to scowl stereotypically for the plan.
Love how there was no villains or crazy thing going on just some straight up wholesome story telling and the true portrayal of Superman he’s a god who’s more human humble and caring than any other human on earth.
This kid is about to get tortured by The Joker because he was able to make Batman smile but he never could.
