I feel like people don’t talk about green lantern like they should. All of them have such great potential, and are pretty strong too.

Bro, absolutely. I am a big Green Lantern fan and I love all of the GLs we've gotten over the years and all the amazing stories we've gotten about them, especially the Geoff John run.
Ive always thought the character had so much potential, especially in a live-action film, which they sadly fumbled back in 2011 since there is so much great and fascinating lore and stories that could make an entire Green Lantern saga of films, hell Green Lantern is literally DC's Star Wars and could even rival Star Wars films alone.
I am really glad DC is bringing us more Green Lantern content and now that we're getting a live-action show with both Hal and John and their very own comic runs coming out very soon, it's made me all the happier to be a GL fan.

@@l0sts0ul89 the weakness was retconned. It existed only when Parallax was locked in the Central Power Battery's core. Once he was released and the Battery reforged, the weakness to yellow no longer existed.

Hal giving up godly powers reminds me of his quote from GL movie- "we're only human" so it really came down to Hal humbling himself to be what he really is, only human

I have to respect that after he resolved the problem causing him to turn into a god, he got rid of it immediately without thinking twice. Nobody else does that.

I feel like people give Hal Jordan far too much hate, because of how toxic some of his fans can be sometimes, and how many settle for preferring John Stewart, and believe me, John is my favourite GL, but ultimately that doesn't mean we should disregard or replace these characters with other ones and ignore their history unfairly, and instead, we should embrace and enjoy the aspects we love about both these characters. I for one love Hal as much I love John or Kyle and think he's a really fun character that despite what unimaginable struggle he goes through, either mental or physical, still continues to push himself, to the point of defeating the God of Willpower with his own will power, which is a testimony to what we can all achieve the most unfathomable things
One of the problems is that their power is always required to be second to more popular characters when they’ve proven they can overcome even more powerful threats like the God of Willpower. If sales didn’t require them to be weaker than kryptonians people would recognize how great they are. Until that day people will keep shit talking them like they don’t matter because DC requires kryptonians to be the best for sales.
If a Manga Artist ever got their hands on Green Lantern, my lord the possibilities.

Probably my favorite Green Lantern comic is from the late 80’s/early 90’s. Kilowog is around a campfire telling Tales of the Green Lantern Corps. It had some really obscure Lanterns in it like Charlie Vicker. The tales varied from political to cartoonish. That line seems blurry in this day and age but still it was a great comic. It was a giant sized comic just shy of what we’d call a TPB of the here and now. For a kid like myself that was huge.
Comics need to return to this kind of bitter sweet life lessons.
It truly inspires people and can save someone from the depths of their own minds. It's the closest thing we have to magic.

I don’t know what I’d do in Hal’s position. It’d be immensely tempting. Though I see myself more as an Indigo Lantern than a Green one. That said, if nothing else, I’d restore the Blue Lantern Corps along with the Indigo Tribe to full strength. Not sure what else… maybe restore Mars as a gift to J’onn?

Underrated in the world of animation
I'm not impressive, I've failed every endeavor I ever set out to do. Even when I had nothing left to give it all just slips through my fingers so easily despite how desperate I wanted to accomplish anything in my life. I'm a failure, I'm my own example of a loser no one should be. I have every reason to give up on life, however I never did. I didn't turn to drugs, I never drank alcohol to alcohol poisoning and I never blamed others to the point they don't want anything to do with me.
I still smile, my father died when I was still young but I never blamed God, I did blame my father but at the same time I just missed him. I'm a failure of a human being but since my battered and bruised heart has yet to surrender, why should I?😊

To be honest if hal had rescued his dad from the past in the plane crash then that would mean his future self would not go to the past to remind his younger self about conquering his fear and never losing courage and he would end up like the other green lanterns so yeah like they say some things in the past are not always meant to be changed

DC just tried to make thier heros gods , super man wonder woman and hal come to mind ,they're literally so god like the reader doesn't feel a human connection to them until something universe shaking happening. Take hal for instance he has so much will power he created his own ring (don't see how that's possible without a battery or being on the green lantern home planet. But when doomsday came calling the man got folded like laundry . So umm where's all that will power hal?

i have the darkseid war graphic novel. i found it at a dollar store for 4 bucks. when i read that green lantern scene i went straight to my mom to tell her how beautiful it was. she was never religous but me and my brother are

Ben 10 vs Hal Jordan would depends a lot on which version either: without his final hyperpotent form (I don't like omnipotent because it's a self defeating assertion) Ben is powerfull and versatil, but honestly it's nothing the DC universe hasn't seen so I don't see him "wiping the entire DC universe".
Even with his godlike power Hal and a good deal of Comic's characters have the advantage of longevity, that is they existed since so long they have been shown to do just too much ludicrous things. Really with how long DC and Marvel comics have been going with unchecked freedom of writting it's to the point how having zero consistancy, nearly all their notorious characters are basically paradoxes.
So in a way there is even less sense to compare the two than just having two characters from uncompatible universe since one of those are not even holding up by itself and have needed multiple "reboot" along the way to try and fix itself.
So if future Hal said what he heard from himself from the future as a kid, then where did the idea originally came from?
it is my belief that 99% of the time any form of goku z or later would kick supermans ass, however, because comic books are crazy (in a good way) most characters have some incarnation somewhere that would oneshot goku from any period

in order to have free will there has to be a certain amount of ignorance and impotence. If you know every outcome of every choice you make before you make it, do you really have free will? In order for there to be free will, there has to be a possibility of failure. Being a god takes that away from you. It's kind of a paradoxical thing, wherein having infinite will and power, you actually end up losing your free will. It's like playing a video game w infinite health cheats. Infinite power is fun for a little while, but after a while the lack of any real challenge, or in other words the lack of any chance for failure, completely destroys the dynamicity of the experience because there's only ever one outcome; you winning.
