    Thanks for having this video, honestly I would love to see the authority whom plan and design the pcn in Singapore either look at how other countries ( th-cam.com/video/os4_iWR_vV0/w-d-xo.html) design their cycling path, or they cycle one time on themselves to see how many area the "connected pcn" is not really connected, clearly a pick up/lorry blocked the way is really annoying. Not comparing big vs small country here but if we want to have a full island connected pcn please look at all the obstacles at our PCNs please.

      They built wisdom into the pcn , telling you that the pcn like life isn't free of obstacles, and not always smooth sailing

    Tbh, the half Round Island Route is ill planned, and when you have to go on pavements, it means its not connected properly! I was disappointed that the steep Loyang Ave climb was not shown. Maybe water points could be also be shown, doing a RIR means you have to plan out the water, toilet and makan points.
    Why go by the narrow Jalan Kayu way, when you can go on the Timor Barat route, I would say that it would be the better alternative, even though you have to watch out for construction nearby.

    Errrr.... I guess too many parts are skipped in your video. This will not give audience a true reflection of the journey. It will affect riders' planning and safety.

    I did the RI route last year, all 130km and solo...some stretches were sheer torture. I don't think I'll be doing it again. Last week I tried the half-island from Yishun dam to Labrador Park. Changi Bay was beautiful but too short. Okay so there are two ways to look at it. Positive way is to be thankful for the lovely cycling paths. One can actually cycle round the entire island 🏝️ but negative view is not all paths are connected. Example is Jalan Kayu, which is ridiculous for PCN. And there should be a more direct path from Gardens to Labrador Park, via Shenton Way and Keppel Road 🛣️.

    1:40 - no route. No pedestrian crossing, passing rubbish bins, going through a bus stop and hitting a lorry which can be parked on the way.

    I also experience the missing signs after I reached Jalan Kayu. Please put signs else everyone will have to check their Google Map to bring them back on track. I stopped at Halus too as I was tired but will try to do the entire route again with some company perhaps

    Entering and leaving east coast park for most of the stretch from Bedok to Kallang. is still a pain for those on bicycles. While being on it is great(mostly), more entrances and exits should make it more enticing

    Very nice ... but 2 days ???!!! 😱
    Some already round island just over 4 hours ... but on road la ... 😅
    Some sections of the RIR looks like any other pathetically narrow footpaths we already have. 😪
    That lorry uncle blocked the PCN path! 😠
    East Coast Park is way over-crowded. It's more dangerous riding there than on the roads. 😆

    • @yuanhawk
      @yuanhawk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think 4h RIR is overkill, the group of 5 must be on some top-end carbon frame road bike or time trial bike and refuel on the bike, then can go at that speed.
      Given that normal cyclist, on foldies, there would be time penalty, I would assume about 6-8h for the full 77km ride.
      For fitter cyclist on full frame bikes its about 3-4h.
