MRB,is there any construction works going on in Kolkata now during lockdown or everything came to a complete halt? Not sure if I am right but I heard that in Mumbai constructions are going in half strength. I think now is the perfect time if cbtc signalling system is installed in north south line. Seeing the huge footfalls,it would be tough to stop services for this purpose in the future after Dakhineshwar starts. Just a suggestion let the better sense prevail.
Yes, construction is going on in full swing in Mumbai, as there will never be any other time in the future where the roads will be completely empty enough to bring heavy machinery for completing the works. As for Kolkata, I think that the lines which are under the railways, might have stopped construction altogether

Would be glad to get an update about the effect of this lockdown on the various metro rail projects in kolkata, especially tunneling in bowbazaar
I think the construction of those lines which are under the railways might have stopped altogether.

The east west metro has a potential to start it's services for public,, in thr year 2022.....
The work is almost complete
Soon the phoolbagan metro station will also be opened for public use
And then soon the Commercial runs will Start from Howrah maidan metro station....
Either before 21 elections or wait till 26 elections. Not in between as this has become a political game for profitability

Metro should have been built 4 lines. 2 for Up... 2 for Down. One for fast or galloping locals... Another one like normal metro which stops everywhere. Just like Mumbai Locals.
