Even though the problem is caused by the bios, thank you for showing where this error can occur, which points should be checked, what can be done in such an error and what should be tried and checked. You are one of the rare people who make such videos on the internet and really teach this job. Most people usually do it quickly and do not explain anything. They just send the videos in short. Here, we see the error, follow it and fix it together. Thank you for everything, master Sorin.

Hello Sorin, as always a great job that had us in tension to know what was happening on the plate. You didn't realize but while you measured voltage at minute 24:50 the screen had video.
Ive watch this channel growing from the bottom years ago, and keep coming back for wonderful professional show. Great stuff as always! Greetings from Stoke on trent!
Sorin.... I would take 'Laptop coming ON, But NO screen issues' from now on but just tell the customers you will only be checking for bios issues only. GREAT JOB BTW.... I Really thought this one was a no fix. ;)
I have the same exact laptop. I had random restarts and also the Wifi would disconnect and also just disappear at some points. Turns out it was the MediaTek MT7921 causing the issues. Replaced it with a Intel AX210 and works perfectly now
Nice one Sorin. Not sure I would have had the patience myself. It's hard and time consuming when you don't know if you have a good working BIOS file to use. It's a case of trying different ones and hoping for the best.
Well done Sorin. A really interesting proper repair. Never apologise for long videos like this one. I had to delay the dog walk till the end because it had me mesmerised. Could you explain why the screen lit up when you were measuring the vram voltage? Brilliant fix, thanks 👍
Hi Sorin: Had this exact same problem with my Gigabyte A5 X1 gaming Laptop. Same AMD Cpu 5900Hx with Nvidia 3070 video card. At 6 months old, the Internal video amd drivers where updating and after reboot corrupted the system bios. Laptop had blank screen during bootup and would do nothing else. Gigabyte ended up replacing with an older bios then what the computer came with.
Hi sorin i have the same laptop and i did have the same problem believe it or not all you have to do is having the original charger press the power button for one minute then turn it on it will take a while to to turn on but at the end it will . Thanks
27:50 because either it's resetting due to bios battery (main one) has ben gone, or taking too much current and dropping voltage below operational level. Also fan spins.
In any business doing repairs, there is always going to be a cost involved and for an expensive laptop like this one the customer knows it won't be cheap, regardless. If the customer won't accept the repair price then the item is not given back to customer. That's how it works and that's the only way it works. If the customer is a good guy he will be very happy no matter what the repair price is. If the customer is not a good guy then you now have a nice laptop for your own use, or sell it to recover costs. Customer pays regardless or you keep it. That's the normal practice in any business.

Sorin was my last hope, before considering buying a replacement motherboard, which wohld have been around £500. So was money well spent, and was such a quick turnaround. Posted on Tuesday, got it back Friday. 10/10
I don't know the exact laws of UK, but I think you can get into trouble with this practise. Customer could sue you. Are you sure law will allow you hold laptop without giving price first? It's definitely NOT right way to do the things. Sorin way is much better. You tell customer beforehand what the cost will be or at least approximate costs.
Usually when all the voltages are present i try with bios first. Specially with all the new machines with windows 10 and 11, which like to mess with system firmware during updates.
Hi Sorín from Argentina, every time a receive a laptop with no picture knowing that someone previously did a bios upgrade, what I do first is to reflash a known working bio's
Linear or switching. Linear has less noise and Sorin likes it becausr it clicks when it's shorted. Linear is also much heavier due to having a large heavy transformer. Switching supply is newer, lighter and can output more power, but in most cases also more noise
i always wondered if liquid metal gets under cpu colud you soak it with alcohol and then use high air pressure to get it out something like air compressor
Hey Sorin. I have a question. Why do those SVO Programmers cost like 4000 to 5000 $ when a simple CH341A cost like 20 bucks max.? I just checked on Aliexpress and almost had a heart attack.. We always used to check if BIOS was OK on old PCs removing al RAM sticks and hear if the Beeper beeps 3 times... Good old days..
@yeahright9014 Have that experience. I messed up two laptops trying to unlock a bios in a one laptop. Apart from this, new laptops are failing very badly. Do you agree?
Hey Sorin, I had a Asus TUF Fa506ii (R7-4800H + 1650Ti) which died recently(main power rail shorted), I found out one of the Nvidia GPU VRMs Mosfet upper side shorted and only the GPU core heats up when I apply 1V 1A to the 20V power rail, It is confirmed the GPU chip is dead?

I agree. At least now I won't get caught out trying to flash the wrong BIOS chip lol.
no problem for long video, personally i prefer this format, it's more educational i guess
The reason for different resistance on vram is because its AMD gpu, not nvidia.
