That surreal feeling when you've turned on a stranger's podcast to knit along to and they feature the project you're currebtly knitting: the LOSY hat! I use my scraps and make hats for the unhoused. They always come out adorable!
Loved this episode! While watching, I’m working on a very squishy garter stitch blanket for my granddaughter for her birthday. I’m holding one skein of off/white sock yarn throughout and then alternating with scraps….sometimes 5 rows/bumps and sometimes the entire 20g! It is 54” wide; cast on 220sts on a US8; and I’m at the 44’ length mark….needing to arrive at 66” + by December 20th! This was the perfect episode to watch while I knit on this project. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🦃 ❤
Thank you Amber for this wonderful collection of items to make using scrappy fingering weight yarn. This must have taken a considerable amount of time and dedication to complete. Take care ❤😊
So sweet Amber to find all these lovelies for all our scraps or advents!! And thanks for the bundle link! You are awesome. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family❤
Thank you very much Amber, for ANOTHER wonderful podcast! I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into this AND I really appreciate the link to add it to my Ravelry account.
I'm not a knitter, but I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I live in the tropics, so my preference is for fingering weight. I hope someone does something like this for crochet. Thank you for sharing this effort, and happy holidays!
Great video! I needed some advent knittings ideas and this was perfect. I found a lot of new-to-me patterns! Thank you for including the Sleigh All Day Wrap, too! ♡
Thanks so much for this post! I really enjoyed seeing the variety of uses for scrap yarn. I am excited to start working on a couple of those ideas. I love the multi coloured projects.
Amber!!!thank you so much!!!! That was so fun,,,,, Going back to last year's episode,,,,Just to get inspired,,,love UR input and ideas as you go along,,, Alot to think about,,,!!! You are a treasure,,,!! ElaineXo 🏠🏡💖
Thank you Amber for putting this scrappy episode together. So much inspiration and just in time for the advent season. Take care, and praying you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving.
Wow, so fun to watch so much inspiration I appreciate how much work it takes to do that I remember watching last year’s and enjoying it. Thank you, Amber.
The marled, heathery look of combined colors reminds me of crayon coloring. I always enjoy watching you Amber. Your insights into knitting are so helpful to this newish knitter, lifelong crocheter and crafter. Happy Thanksgiving! Peace and Blessings to everyone 🧶🍂🦃
Thank you Amber! There were many great ideas here. I’m debating whether I want to knit my advents as I open them, or see what the full collection looks like before deciding…hmmm… a good problem to have!
Thanks so much for the inspiration!! Now I have to decide on a project - there were so many beautiful things to make!! Thanks for all your hard work and enjoy Thanksgiving!! Looking forward to Vlogmas as well.
Thank you SO much for making this video ! I have selected so many pattern from your roundup to use now for Advent knitting and for scrappy knitting in the future. I really like the morowa fingerless mitts and the salems path shawl.
Thanks for a GREAT scrappy episode. The only one I've made is Emily Clawson's Scrappy Bias Shawl and I LOVED IT! So much so that I made two!! Super chill, creative with colors, relaxing and fun!!
Thanks!!! I may need to watch this again to pick and choose! 🤣😂 I'm trying to bind a project off as I watch. Only advent i got this year was the Halloween Advent from trilogy yarns, it was SO much fun....the yarns are fluorescent!!! AND she added a mini blacklight!!! I used the full hank already to make a sockhead Cowl. I love almost ALL Ambah O'Brien patterns!! I'm making her "ghost knitter shawl".
Amber, I loved this scrappy podcast!! I got an Advent box this year and I was searching for something to use them on. You did so much research and I thank you for all your work. I'm just thrilled with all my choices. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Amber for researching so many gorgeous patterns! I am drawn to several of them and i will definitely look them up! Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving! We had ours in October and slowly getting ready for the Christmas holidays. I hope you eat tons of good food and enjoy a lot of knitting time😊❤️⭐️
These are great ,I’ve just started a candy mountain cowl with some special skeins and it’s lovely. I’m so looking forward to the season i always knit scrappy socks but also have an advent I would like to make a shawl .
Loved this video, so much inspiration. Please, when you tell us the needle size used in your projects, could you give us the size in millimetres as well as the US size. I’d be so grateful. Thankyou Amber
I loved this video!!! Love that you put so many ideas I think I want to try at least 2 in each of your sections :) I didn’t do an advent, I’m a new knitter but have a ton of yarn. I’ve crocheted for 20 plus years. So thank you so much for letting us know right off which ones are more beginner friendly.
Oh my gosh ! I am so excited I found your channel. I absolutely love the information you’ve provided as I am an Advent junkie and I’m always looking for patterns. I have subscribed to your channel I can’t wait to watch your Vlogmas through the month of December. Thank you for doing all of the research you have done for all of these patterns. Happy Holidays!
Thank you for a nice podcast episode, I really found one pattern interesting…❣️ But I can’t find it on Ravelry… it’s one of the cowl and perceived the designer's name as Tara Canon But I think I misunderstood something because there’s nowhere to find. Can you help me…? Would make my day 💖🧶 Thanks 💖💖💖
Hello! Go to my video description and click on the link to the pattern bundle I made on Ravelry. Tara's pattern will be in there with the rest of them. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!!!!
I made a note in the video description, knowing people would ask! Lol. It is just a sweater I bought secondhand. I think it may have originally been a Target sweater.
Hi. I would love it if you could put the names of patterns you talk about on the screen. Many podcasts I can’t catch the name of the patterns. 😊😊😊. Thank you
If you touch on the more under her name, it will take you to the Ravelry bundle with all the names also.. sometimes watching the transcript will help, but it doesn’t always understand.
Hi Becky! That is a good point! I will keep that in mind for future episodes. There is a link to the Ravelry bundle in the description box, so check that out and you'll see all of the patterns in one place.
Great list of items - it would have been a bit more helpful either to have the name on the screen or have a list below in your show notes. I am trying to figure out what some of the names and designer names are. Thanks for all the great ideas!!!!
If you scroll down in her description box, hit the word more, you will see a bundle link for all the patterns. Amber works hard to put them all in order for us. Just saying😊

Is switchback double knit?
Also wish designers sent pix of full shawl. Not just a lump Ambah O is a particular offender

Hi Jenny! I have never knit scrappy socks because of the weaving in of all of the ends! Lol. I think I may change that though.
