    I have had my Atto 3 for 8 months, nearly 8000km. I love it, the best car I have owned. I have also spent a fair bit on accessories 😊 Thank you for sharing your update.

    I don’t have any experience with Tesla ownership so I can only say in my experience that the Atto is cheaper to put on the road and is a more conventional EV driving experience.
    I wish I could use V3 Tesla charging is my only real complaint otherwise great vehicle 👍

    New upgrade allowing to set a timer on your recharge to offpeak hours is well handy.

      Would also be nice to be able to set the charge level as well so charging stops at say, 80% SoC, as I'm reading more and more that charging to around 80% is recommended for LFP batteries with ~weekly 100% charges. Charging always to 100% is NOT recommended.

    Hi Chris, just bought one of these last week. Won't removing the plastic wheel covers reduce air coefficient hence range?

    • @ChrisEVcars
      @ChrisEVcars  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe, but range does not bother me

    Nice to hear your thoughts on the Atto 3 Chris after 12 months/20,000k. Ours (my wife's) is going in for its 3 month/5k check tomorrow. We're reasonably happy with it, but it's not perfect and hopefully future updates will improve it. The steering creaks when you turn the wheel when the car is stationary. The salesperson said they all do that. I think the range on the extended range battery is a bit short of the mark. It could/should be a bit better.
    The choice of fonts, size of letters and numbers, colour of those fonts and also the background colour of the driver's screen are REALLY bad and hard to read without 20/20 vision. The icons for cruise control, lane assist, and the posted speed limit as well as other itinerant fonts that pop up from time to time are terribly hard to decipher and must be made larger and clearer. It's as if a 20-year-old graphic designer with perfect eyesight designed the layout. Quite bad really! An easy software fix, but will it ever happen? Perhaps they are trying to cram too much info on the tiny screen? But the colour, fonts and sizing are the real issue.
    The front parking/proximity sensors seem to be a bit hit or mis. Often, they won't sound until the car stops! Well, that's great, just a bit late, so not sure if it's a hardware, calibration or software issue. Sounds like software. The latest software update may have started the issue. But I'm not 100% sure.
    I to was ready to purchase a Seal Premium or the AWD, but the low clearance of the Seal meant in my steep Driveway I only had 2 centimeters clearance (measured) above the concrete of my carport and the underside of the leading edge of the front bumper. Clearly, I was guaranteed to damage the bumper. I remember in an early Seal video you did when one of the first Seals was on display in Sydney you mentioned that the chassis was quite low to the ground. NO OTHER reviewer in many countries - and I've watched and read several dozen mentioned the low clearance of the Seal. You are the only one! And it's a fairly major issue with an otherwise very good car.
    The back of the Seal is also low with that large rear spoiler, so even though the Seal can have a towbar installed, the mounting bracket would easily bottom out in many situations.
    I've ordered a Model 3 AWD which gives me 6 centimetres clearance at the same spot. Some speed humps and other driveways will cause scraping for some Seal owners. My current car, a 2015 Polo has 5 centimetres clearance on my driveway. The polo is fairly low. The Seal is noticeably worse.

      Hi Paul, I have to agree with the Atto 3 comments you mentioned. BYD have been quite active with the Atto 3 updates. Let's hope they can fix some of these software issues.
      BYD Seal going up my standard property access would hit if I didn't't go on an angle. I don't think I could live with this on a day to day basis. Will wait for the Sealion. Hopefully coming at the end of this year.

      @@ChrisEVcars I was driving the Atto 3 today, which I don't all that often, and in cruise control It was nearly impossible to see what speed cruise was set at. The numbers are a light green and simply disappeared into the screen.
      I hope my earlier comments weren't too negative, but these issues can be easily fixed via software. I just hope BYD do fix them.
      Yes, pity about the Seal being a bit low. One would be in my driveway about now if I didn't have to cancel. Still, I'm looking forward to the Tesla - even with the silly change to the indicators and wiper stalks. We can get used to most things though. 😀

      Charging whilst running your AC slows your charge rate when using the common 50kwh DC units so increases your stop time I plug in and go and find aircon and coffee so I don’t hog the charger too long 😁👍

    I like your videos & sorry to be a pedant but could you please refer to your vehicle as the Atto rather than Atto 3? The way you mispronounce '3' is really irritating.

    • @Milzbud
      @Milzbud 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Firstly, you need to learn how to spell properly.

    • @arialle8905
      @arialle8905 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Milzbud It was a typo. There's a difference between an honest mistake and constantly mispronouncing the word "three" as "free".

      Chris, thanks again for another interesting video. Glad you're still very happy with your atto3. As am I, 10 months and 6k. From your recommendation I fitted a 13v battery monitor. So far so good, however I think the battery is unlikely to last very long. I'd like to fit 12v LFP . Any thoughts/recommendations,thanks again, Brian.

    Hi Chris. Im preordering Atto 3 as of right now BYD has just expanding to Indonesia. My question, hows the tie rod/balljoint/shock breaker conditions after a year? Do you hear any squeeking or any noise?

    • @ChrisEVcars
      @ChrisEVcars  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Muhammad, seems to be ok so far. The front chassis of the Atto 3 seems to be much stronger than other cars.
