Gilla Band - Backwash (Live on KEXP) 1249pm 13.4.23 just go listen to the smiths play barbarism begins at home on the tube circa 1985 via ch4, uk t.v... the sound system is akin to that... ahahahahaha. yer being a dick!!!!
For me, its astonishing to listen to how chaotic their sound is but more amazed to watch them pull it off live. Especially when you consider how absolutely locked in each member is with their part of the music.
These KEXP engineers need a show of their own. Truly underated in bringing band after bands sound properly alive. Time and time again they sound better than the album counterparts.
fu*k yeah they're really pushing it same here one of the better contemporary bands over the years you see how trend goes even in punk rock/noise but they do their thing killing it innovative next level punk
Viagra Boys and Gilla Band back to back…literally my two of my favorite contemporary bands (along with KGLW & Metz).
Noise rock killing it right now.
My thoughts too, holy fack
Are you me wtf
It's like they're doing science
I love that idea!
It became a muscle
A hustle to be a Jack Russell
Whose head was deaf and once again
Binged the Big Brother boxset
He knows about self satisfaction
His nose acts like a toe
And anytime his watch would die
He'd trip over himself
Hello
He went to the sink and put Vaseline on a trout
Hello
Eventually spoke like a wheel on a basking shark
He advises it, revises a bit
And too much to be ignored
And then he saw
A wall, a wall, a wall
A wall, a wall, a wall
He wakes up
He hesitates and not too confident
And locked in a bedroom
Over, under again
In the middle of it all
He habitually cut them off
3:16 broke his machine
Prepares to be himself
Over-shelved in blank
Over-shelved in blank
Over that
A cat, a pillar
A knick, a knack
Some bloke just there
A prick, a prat
Lovely magic
New knees
A stick, a wick, a wig, the lick
A private in-joke
That bloke just spoke
A shark attack
New to that
Over thought it
Still was excited
Still needs improvement
But that was perfect
Dirty forward
Back washed
No one looks cool
Around a wasp
Can barely tie my shoes
Get in a strop
I give dirty looks to
People reading books who
Say they don't watch cartoons
Or anything that is blue
I think I really like you
Try to say something new
I wanna eat your perfume
I wanna be your cat
A pillar, a knick, a knack
Some bloke just there
A prick, a prat
Lovely magic
New knees
A stick, a wick, a wig, the lick
A private in joke
That bloke just spoke
A shark attack
And new to all wall, wall, wall, wall, hello
Hello
Nice to chat while his teeth are falling out
Hello
Eventually spoke like a wheel on a basking shark
He advises it, revises a bit
And too much to be adored
And then he saw
A wall, a wall, a wall, a wall

Any of you know if they do weddings?? Asking for a friend
If they did, that would be the only wedding I’d want to go to.
Weddings not sure, but for a divorces parties they'd be perfect :)

Been waiting for this to go up. They never disappoint, such a good band.
Anyone got the tabs for this song?
good luck

0:12 he knows he has power in his thumb
Were he still kicking, Mark E. Smith would probably appreciate this band. Great performance.
Prolly perfect.
nah these dudes are different. let's fucking go guys

This sounds better live than it has any right to be considering how weird the song sounds on the album.

Oh hell yeah
Too bad these guys weren’t around for Jet Set Radio
Daniel Fox and Alan Duggan are 2 of the best millennial guitarists.
what pedal does the guitarrist use in the noisier part of the song aka 2:18
Reverb into fuzz blocking all the strings
He uses a Marshall Reflector Reverb into a fuzz pedal (not sure which one, he has a lot of distortion/fuzz pedals on his board)
@@ShitNoiseOfficial fuzz factory, saw them live and chatted to him for a bit late last year

I wonder if they’re okay? The performance is cool but there’s a worrying vibe to this or is it just the intensity they go through?
