When you buy a Three Zero TF figure you're not buying it for its transformability, you're buying it for its aesthetics. I have their WFC Megatron, Bumble Movie Optimus Prime, and Gold version of Movie Bumblebee. They all look AMAZING and their engineering is top notch 👌 Tthey really wouldn't look as good if they had to engineer transforming as well, honestly. And this is coming from a G1 fan! 😊
Exactly this, completely agree
They do look amazing, but seeing as to how they've done masterpiece figures, and those look amazing in both robot and alt modes, I think that is optimal, and makes it quite possible to do both the looks and the- well, the part the name implies- TRANSFORMing. I can see both having a market, though. I think for most fans of Transformers, the lack of transforming will be a negative- but we'll see.
@@Beauc4652but if people are collecting non transforming transformers then why would recommend the masterpiece line? They’re so overpriced, quality has been declining and it’s obvious they don’t care about the engineering for the alt mode. It also comes down to the style of the figures. A lot of people really enjoy the movie/modern style designs of these characters instead of just having another copy of g1 Optimus prime from the cartoon
I love that even though it doesn't transform, it is sculpted in a way that highlights how it could.
Exactly!
while I have to monitor my budget in my collecting which puts jumping into another belt of collecting out of reach, I do have to admire the effort put into the Three Zero products. they obviously put tremendous effort into the articulation, but moreover making it still feel like a fully dolled up Robot Mode, as if they're making a physical mockup of a detailed Animation model. in fact, I bet once they get a larger stable of figures, there's gonna be people doing Stop Motion with these kids and it's gonna look fabulous. As always, another stellar and in depth review, thanks for taking the time to really put Sideswipe through his paces 😁👍
My pleasure, Tim, and thank you. And yes, completely agree with your comments
After getting Prime and megs from this line, I really want this Sideswipe now. Great video!
Thanks, I appreciate that coming from your good self!
Love the MDLX line. They’ve created some amazing designs. And I don’t need all of my Transformers to transform. I like having a kibble-free robot mode.
Same!
I have no eyesight and I love love love these figures, now I'm collecting the DLX line as well. Heck I'd probably by a toilet if Threezero made one. I love them for the tight joints, the weight of these figs and the sculpted detail is insane. It's like having an articulated statue that once you put it in place, stays in place. I absolutely hate ankle motion because they're always the weakest point on so many toys. Not so with these guys. move it and let go, it aint going nowhere. Great review BTW :)
We need a Kupp, Beachcomber, Grimlock and all Dinobots Blaster/Soundwave and so many more! You can bank on Sunstreaker after Sideswipe
Thank you Sixo for pointing out that the Wheels spin! As every review I've seen has never mentioned if the Wheels can spin. So thanks for confirming that they can spin!
My pleasure! I love it
I wish Threezero would start making Premium scales again
The panel lining on the grey really helps keep it from being too boring. I can see the appeal of non-transforming Transformers after seeing this.
Then my job is done haha!
While I'm not too into non-transforming transformer figures, I get the appeal. I had the ThreeZero Optimus for a good amount of time and the sculpting and detail was breathtaking. The posability was wonderful and I liked how there was new details revealed whenever you bent the joints (the ab crunch revealing more spine detail, for instance)
Great example!
I agree with a lot of people… even for transformable figures, people are usually displaying them in one mode only - robot or vehicle mode. And for the newer Hasbro Transformers, which might require 60 steps or something, most people are not going to bother transforming them very often.
I give extra points if they can transform, but ThreeZero and YoloPark are doing great job for these alternative versions.
Sixo unboxings = peak youtube
That's kind, thank you
He looks awesome! Was never a big Sideswipe fan, though. Such a middle of the road autobot. Did he actually do anything after giving Prime his jet pack in the pilot? Team Sunstreaker all the way!
@@bobstransformersreviews9058 he did some stuff, like when… er… well, jet judo was cool!
@SixoTF haha! He always ends up with great figures, regardless. His Siege mould is top tier, and the Gamer Edition is weirdly good, despite his big old ski feet. Still, though, I'm definetly a Sunstreaker guy!
He’s a red lambo, he doesn’t need to do anything! 😅
You sure are selling me on these MDLX ones. The bigger lads are definitely more than I'd want to pay for a figure but this is much more in my range. Looks like a Masterpiece Action Master. Just needs to comes with a spring loaded robot weapon buddy.
@@MellowGaming haha that’s so true
COOL G RAPP, That is a nice design
This is how I had hoped the live action Transformers had looked like from the start.
Exactly this. A full retooling of the original story in live action, with the original figures looking like this.
That would have been something!
Great video! Here's the kicker.... I would pay a lot of money for a figure like this that COULD transform. Can you imagine??? At some point, it's got to happen.
That would be something!
They should be able to do it with the DLX line, but it might cost $300 to $500. It’ll be a niche market.
Beautiful Thumbnail dude!
Thanks! I was pleased with it
Looks too awesome!!!!!

Sixo, love it! super ~
:)
Hot Rod looks better, but this is pretty sweet.
Speaking of Threezero and Jetfire, they've recently done a Valkyrie that actually does transform right? I don't think they've done many transforming figures but it looks good.
I wonder if Hasbro doesn't want partners making converting figures to comlete with mainline though?
@@EthanManley-wr1ng They have and yes it does! Some partners have done transforming stuff (such as Hot Wheels OP) but it’s rare
Hasbro not wanting partners to do transforming toys and kits was absolutely a thing in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if it's still one. Threezero have done a transforming VF-1J, yeah. It looks good but I find it a bit of a weird choice? Like it's licensed from Harmony Gold, but they also license transforming VF-1s from Kidzconcept, and in Japan both Arcadia and Bandai do really nice ones in 1/60 and 1/48 scale. It's a very crowded niche.
@lorcannagle I could be mistaken but don't think Kitzconcept was well received? Haven't tried the others admittedly but they all look good
@SixoTF If they go ahead with a red one I might bite the bullet. Never got threezero but their stuff looks good, you certainly help, interesting to see company try transforming figure but Valkyrie design existing helps. Just I guess with Hasbro sure there's bunch of exceptions just based on third party stuff rarely transforming
@@EthanManley-wr1ng I didn't bother with them, I'm way too deep in the Arcadia hole, I have like 6 of their VF-1s already!
(and that's on top of 1/60 scale YF-19, YF-21, VF-4, three VF-0s, two SV-51s, plus three Bandai VF-25s, three VF-31s, a YF-29 and a VF-171... And an Arcadia 1/3000 scale Macross)
Nice, just wish the torso was a smidge bit longer.
Oh? I guess the proportions are quite exaggerated
If the Action Masters had looked this sweet.
Lol, I still love em
@@SixoTF Snarl AM is on my shelf, guess i didn´t hate them either.
@@danrend4986 he’s a good’un!
IMO, I believe collectors are at the point in their lives, myself included. I think we can all admit that most transforming Transformers are pretty much garbage for collectors who want a GOOD figure. Aesthetical pleasing, meaning no unwanted kibble, and no oversized body sections. Want a PRIME example. Then look up Sideswipe Masterpiece MP-12 then ask yourself. Do you want a toy you can change into a car and roll across your floor? Or, do you want eye catching collectable action figure to display that screams impressiveness?
Hasbro Transformers really went down in quality in recent years, imo... I love Threezero's work and it doesn't matter to me that they don't Transform. The figures are fantastic!
Need his brother now.

What really killed buying retail store transforming figures was the Transformers Prime Voyager Class Megatron. He looked NOTHING like his on screen appearance. The paint scheme was just GOD AWFULL. Go ahead, look it up and tell me I'm wrong.
This is how Bayformers should have looked
I can see that case
