Not getting this guy as i prefer the look of the older Generations toy, but i cannot deny they nailed this. An excellent remold of an already excellent figure, they did a superb job.

@@russellharrell2747 I definitely agree that it should be standard on a leader to have opening hands with how much it cost nowadays. Funny enough the Generations toy did have opening hands.
Genuinely great figure and a retool that's surprisingly really high effort with all it's little details
If the mainline Legacy retools had the same effort for accuracy and faithfulness as the Comics Edition figures, it'd be one of the best toylines in the franchise
The Generations Comic Edition toys are really something, for sure
His alt mode is a weird flying thing, which goes well with the Siege figures like Soundwave, Reflector, Shockwave, who also turn into weird flying things. Plus, it's accurate to the comic, and being a retool of Galvatron is very obvious, but so good

I’ll gladly take this version of the character as my forever Straxus. The only war they can get a better version is with an original mold, and we know this guy isn’t getting that.
The treads tuck in quite nicely, especially compared to the Galvatron where they just hang there no matter what you do.
Mine arrived the other day, and while I still haven't taken him out of the box yet, it's still a sight to behold even still in it. Just as said here, I did not expect so many comic Transformers in such a time, and more curious to see who's next.

Fitting that they retooled the Galvatron mold as in the Marvel UK comics it was Straxus, not Megatron, who went on to become Galvatron.
It's all a bootstrap paradox, too. Were it not for the events catalogued in Target: 2006, Prime and Megatron would never have wound up on Cybertron, Megatron would never have encountered the disembodied head of Straxus and been subjected to the botched mind swap, the Straxus that believed itself Megatron would never have existed and wound up on Earth.

straxus has always been one of my favorite decepticon ruler, last year i carved in and paid for a darkmount, not knowing this will come out, but still darkmount have a very unique alt mode for a straxus

Aahh Straxus, this was an amazing reuse of that Galvatron mold imo, and there are subtle things that can be done in his alt mode to make it slightly less Space Cannon and a little more Flying Cannon, at least to my eye. The Shoulders have just enough articulation in them that you can flatten them out a little more without compromising how everything else attaches, and like you discovered, you don't have to flush out his feet for the braces to the cannon mode from Galvatron. Still, he really does work that mold to great success, and he is resting across from my Kingdom Blaster with bit of ire in his eyes 😁 . Another stellar review, and nice to have the Piano back at it as well, can't wait to see what you're gonna review next (though my hope is for Ignis from Mastermind Creation). The arm tread kibble can actually become fold out arm blasters so they don't bother me as much on this figure

I’m surprised to hear that you don’t own Galvatron. That custom Scrounge is sweet. I really hope to have a Scrounge in the collection some day. Maybe they’ll make a new version. Maybe I’ll get lucky and track down a copy from the Computron set.
It's funny bc whenever I don't own a toy people always seem surprised, haha! But yeah, the Scounge is very cool. I'd be surprised if they don't do a new one at some point... maybe?
@@SixoTF I guess when you’re a toy reviewer for Transformers, it seems off not having the latest representation of a major character. If you told me you didn’t have Skyquake or Steeljaw, I might not bat an eye, but Galvatron, I don’t know?
I wonder if they did do a new Scrounge (perhaps a second wave of Marvel Comic toys with that purple Shockwave?) I wonder who he’d be retooled from. The obvious first thing to come to mind is the new Cosmos, but I feel as an accurate Scrounge, that mold doesn’t really fit him. Origins Bumblebee could work, but it may be a case of him not being different enough as another yellow bot.
Oh I have been waiting on this! Hoping for a comics Blaster and Scrounge. I know. I ask a lot!

Hey, Missing Link is planning on recreating the old Arcee prototype from the 80s. I'm sure they'll do other movie era characters too. You never know, they might retool a Missing Link Galvatron into a "G1 toy-style" Straxus.

I do hope They reisue Straxus to be in a Mainline, maybe repaint him to make him Fit better with other decepticons

These threads on the shouders are actually a fully new parts, Galvatron had quite different design of these.
It is in favour of his alt mode, tho.
Yeah, I meant to clarify what I meant there because yes, of course, they're new parts just placed in similar fashion to the equivalent pieces on Galvatron. I don't mind them so much
I think you're misremembering, the shoulder pylons on Galvatron are up, not laid down. At most, maybe they're slightly angled, but they're usually up.

Great review as usual. I enjoy my Straxus very much, but I'm kinda surprised you don't own kingdom/legacy Galvatron: it's great figure and there's a very cheap add-on with pointy feet and a longer back fin thet helps give him a more accurate look.

@@SixoTF I know, that's a shared pain amongst collectors LOL. I've resorted to box some parts of my collection, trying my best to gove some rotation to the ones I display. I'm not very good at it, thoug 🙃

Are the shoulders fixed from Galvatron? I was kinda tempted to get him when I got Xaaron and Flame if even to avail of free shipping. And I see he's still in stock in pulse and so is Death's Head...

Got him weeks ago and overall, he is everything I wanted out of an accurate Straxus! Heck the Generation Darkmount is kinda like my "first" figure in my collection after I stop buying them during the RiD era! He was worth the full price as I always buy them on discount! Just that FOMO got the better of me! Sure they probably will make a non comic version but it is the question of "when" that will announce it?
Exactly this - even if they do a repaint, maybe it'll be worth getting both, idk. And as for Galvatron, I only have so much room haha
@@SixoTF Well I admit, I do liked the mold enough that I have been looking at the price on Legacy Galvatron. However if the leak is real, SS86 Galvatron is coming in the near future althought the legacy version is kinda cheap depening on the seller.
That being said, I wouldn't mind buying a different version of Straxus (like the default image of him which is a much darker blue). Just abit paranoid that I will scratch the paint off on the comic version!

I bought 2 Decepticon Dramatic Capture Series(by accident because Hasbro Pulse SUCKS & is slow), I just FINALLY gotten the rest of the Insecticons(thanks Amazon Scalper Marketplace😡), I gotten Straxus a few weeks back I haven’t opened it yet.
