The worst part about that custom Soundwave is that’s how DOTM Soundwave could have looked if Bay just chose a cobalt blue version of the car he chose.
I wish he did, i actually like the robot design but the actual color just kills it

@@BlitzkriegOmegabarricade is black then blue. Brawl is green. Bonecrusher is tan. Most of the constructicons were red, with a couple being yellow or green. Onslaught was green, dreadbot was blue and brown, and Mohawk had some green highlights
I remmember that the lazy eyebrow reviewed soundwave and poimted out how good he would look in blue and he looks great. They should do g1 repaints of bayverse figures and they would make a billion
That would be a solid way to extend Bayverse Figure releases.
The way that those yellows on Soundwave line up in vehicle mode was so satisfying.
Yeah it's impressive, cause obviously that wasn't intended by the designers, so it's so cool to see how they translate.

My biggest problem with dotm aoundwave was always the lack of a visor, older figures of him had it but the final movie design just didnt have it for some reason
also the original concept art had him in deep blue witha shoulder canon.
They just had to change everything about his face.

If this figure is anything to go by, then the colors go a long way, and following the Trim of the car works out great.

Out of all the videos I thought Sunday’s review would be, a custom SS soundwave from DOTM was not on my list.
How much better jolt gets is even funnier when you realize he's the only jolt who can stand without falling over all the time

the studio series version doesn't have any issues standing. but at the same time, it's not really minicon jolt.

What's funny is my lightbox made standing this very hard, because it's always on a slight incline, and the figure doesn't weigh enough to make the blue sheet flex flatter so that's beveling upward to make it even harder.
I never expected another figure from the OG 5 bayverse films after the Nitro from the 2020. Also, the Customised Soundwave looks excellent, even as a fan of most of the film appearances (though ones like every film Wheeljack outside of the Bumblebee movie are bad, with DOTM's Rotting Einstein, ROTB's Nerd, and ONE's Roblox skin).
Yeah, I think most of the characters could have done with more color. It makes them so much more distinct.

They always were. Literally every character would have looked better with more of their G1 colors.

Soundwave came with lazerbeak. Also I recommend the premium finish rotf optimus prime since its the best painted bayverse optimus prime we currently have.
Now I may love the bay designs and hey may be some of my favorites but I can whole heartedly agree that that looks so much BETTER with the g1 colors imagine dotm shockwave with the more vibrant purple

Well Hot Shot is actually Hot rod in Armada, so the colour scheme is still appropriate? Anyway loving the New head for Soundwave, he should've had his visor and mouthplate from the start.

Unrelated, but I just got g2 color grimlock (my first time handling the SS mold) and in a instant, it became my favorite figure.
Completely understandable. It's a great figure.
The soundwave looks very nice and shows a movie decepticon can look nice in colours the custom is very nice, it’s baffling that they went with another grey/silver character instead of the blue like DOTM soundwave looks like one of the background characters but with some Mercedes parts slapped on but this custom works better blue with yellow trim would’ve been great to see in the film
I think as time went on, it became more and more clear, that bay thought bright colors were stupid.
I love u doing give aways even if I don’t win I feel happy because someone else is happy but then I’m sad because someone else is upset that they didnt win and then swap between those 2 moodes all day

Man, the custom Soundwave makes me really wish for an SS concept ROTF Soundwave figure.
Whether it be the design where he’s on massive steroids (and preferably with the head that actually looks like a Soundwave head) or the games/comic/original ROTF toy design that most people think of when referring to ROTF Soundwave, I’d want it. At least those designs actually had him with some blue for his color scheme, even more so for the game and Nemesis three-pack versions. Not to mention that the game/toy/comic version actually looked pretty decent for a Soundwave design; I’d even rank it above the TFP Soundwave, even though I like that design too.
I know the concept sub-line is mainly being filled with characters we didn’t get to see in the films for the time being, but I’d love it if the designers were able to add in concept designs of characters that did make it into the films. It’d not only help to expand the sub-line, but it’d also give us more alternative designs (such as concept ROTF Soundwave) that some people might enjoy more than the finalized designs.

The new Armada figures cause me unnecessary pain. Each one has at least one sizeable flaw, and I’d be willing to look past them if every figure wasn’t missing their coolest “accessory” from the source material.

I have never sent a giveaway email faster in my entire life. I have been staring at the Amazon listing for over a month in a constant fit of "Should I? Should I not?" because I already have the normal Hotshot, but I've always FAR preferred his late-season colors. But it's also Leader Price. But it also comes with lots of fun gubbins.
charging leader price for that set is downright highway robbery. voyager price at most is what I imagined the set to cost.
@@isuckatusernames4297 This is why I've been so hesitant. It's a Deluxe with extras, not a Voyager with extras. I just don't see it being worth $55 (plus shipping) to get this Hotshot, even if it's the one I used to own as a kid.

I got my hands on that Hot Shot as I actually like him more in this colors, had skipped the first one because no minicon too. And the despise of Bayverse for color is a well known fact by now.

Hotshot was fine in the show, though his Design was always the worse one.
I adore Jolt. I know there have only been two minions so far in the more modern line, the other being Whisper, but Jolt is just such a nice little thing to mess around with
I have yet to handle Whisper.

I've been thinking about getting into customizing myself. I've got two figures, the r.e.d. Magnus and a Furai Optimus, that I want to paint into my take on a Shattered Glass Nemesis Prime. I'm thinking of dandelion for Optimus' red, a cheery christmas green for the windshield, and silver where normal nemesis is teal

Hey if you want to start Customizing using a red figure for your first attempt sounds like it might be a good idea. Though I don't know how easy it will be to paint that Rubbery Plastic.

The bayverse toylines had a lot of bay characters with G1 colors (or just more color overall) i think you'd like them
I have a theory on why soundwave in particular wasn't blue and it's because of the twist. Basically one of the twists in dark of the moon is soundwave is Sam's new girlfriends carlys care this was a secret meant to be kept till the moive was out. If you go to the scene where soundwave is at the base with megatron in Africa he's missing the logo of the car on his chest but it later appears after the twist so I feel if they had the car be blue and then we sheet soundwave as also blue it would ruin the surprise. If you want there's a great video about a youtuber about this it's called "the soundwave vehicle conspiracy" it gose really well into depth about this
They could have had him turn blue. Also they could have just gone with the normal blue one that doesn't have the Yellow trim.

I think soundwave was silver in DOTM to have the 'carly's car being soundwave' twist less expected, can't remember if it worked on me but a common silver will make you pass a car off as another common car and not the same decepticon who is silver like 60% of the entire robot cast lol

I personally hate the soundwave transformation. Everything seems to fight against me when I try to transform it, and the clear plastic back bling scares the hell out of me when trying to get it in place. I do however like the robot mode, and I think car is beautiful. I do recommend some more of the studio series Bay stuff, some of them can be really fun. I do admit that they don’t feel as solid as the chug stuff some time, but they still can be great

Toys are pretty expensive to buy and if I want to customize a toy like turning Marvel Legends Kid Omega in Invincible or repainting Marvel Legends Power Princess into Wonder Woman, I had to be careful of the painting and sculpting cause if not, you can end up with a broken, failed and unusable toy that just spells money wasted
That is an understandable fear I think a lot of people deal with.
What more annoying about soundwave Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG car mode is that I’m pretty sure it does come in a nice metallic dark blue but for some reason they chose the bland silver one for the film

They could've done a lot better with HotShot to be honest I would've loved to see a Clear Green visor instead of solid Grey But I have to admit seeing a Minicon in modern Day makes me happy

Was it the same guy? I think they did a WAAAY better job in the Bumblebee movie, but RotB is still better at designing the characters than the older movies.
tbf, the original Jolt is pretty dynamic too, just lacks the elbow joint. What made the Bayverse designs so drab is the lack of color...too much boring grays and silvers. Just like the shitty color choices of American cars. Also, completely agree with the car companies being dicks. OG Armada Prime's base mode was one of the coolest playsets around for your Minicon teams.
Yeah as the Franchise wore on, it's clear that Bay thought color was stupid.

yeah the "powerlinx" upgrades in armada were never really all that
spontaneous paint job changes on transformers are always weird but at least they look cool most of the time
my favorite one out of all the armada crew that got them was probably starscream's and even then the entire joke was him being disgusted that he looks like thundercracker now
Yeah, I'm not big on any of them from the show. Optimus doesn't work. Megatron doesn't work. Hotshot doesn't work. And Starscream just stole someone else's colorscheme.

Soundwave was boring in DOTM because the whole "It wAs cARly'S caR ThE wHoLE TIMMMEEE?!?!" reveal was supposed to be a big twist in the movie. If you rewatch the scene with him, Megatron, and Starscream in the desert, Soundwave's Mercedes logo on his chest is hidden.
Unfortunately for dear Michael, that "big reveal" was completely wasted due to either Paramount and/or Hasbro's promotional material for the film. This, along with the ending of the movie being released, made Mr. Explosions so angy that he changed the finale of DOTM.
And even then he could have changed colors when he Revealed him self.

I actually really loved powerlink hotrods colours the primary yellow and red looked pretty ugly to me

Hotshot is a decent figure that’s absolutely killed by a bad face. Jolt is a great inclusion and the new blasters are exactly what they should be. He should be a great toy, why did they have to make him look like a greasy little goblin man!?
For bayvers, the Western Star OP it’s the best design of the movies, it have nothing with me really loving Western Star trucks no evidence on that
