At least we have all three of the cybertronian mode G1 Autobots in the first episode. Love how they were able to justify Wheeljack as a voyager by giving him extra accessories and have him able to have Origins Bumblebee within him.
I'm still in college right now, and I have him on my desk. Sometimes, when I'm bored or just need a little distraction from work (I primarily work on a computer, so that tends to hurt your eyes after long exposure) I convert him back and forth a few times because of how fun I find the transformation to be. Btw - an update on the whole situation on Buzzworthy Bumblebee. Essentially, Target is still gonna have exclusive figures but the specific Buzzworthy Bumblebee branding is over. So now Target Exclusive figures will either get the standard packaging style for the toylines they’re a part of (so Legacy exclusives get Legacy packaging, Studio Series ones get Studio Series packaging etc) or special box art depending on what the release is, like if it’s a multi pack.
@@PerspectiveEnd no problem mate :) It’s also why the recently revealed SS86 Blaster and Legacy 4 pack with Cliffjumper, Tarn and co doesn’t have Buzzworthy style packaging either if you’re curious about it.
I know it was literally the first thing they showed us of the figure but I still love that you can actually put Bumblebee inside the alt mode. Now the question is, do we get Origins Soudwave, where he is just a “Cybertronian Sensor Lamp” (Seems like a lamppost to me). No Cassette mode, no "spaceship" (Flying brick more like it) mode, just a lamppost.
My copy arrived literally today. I got it for yhe sake of completion and was banking on it being a fun transformation as well as praying that the photos were deceptively underselling the quality. And oh boy does this thing *DELIVER* . literally my only problems are the atrocious elbow and knee placement that are slightly less ungodly than the stock photos make them seem as well as the neck being incapable of tabbing into the torso. And yes, i do care about elbow and knee placement that much to where this guy's elbows were almost a total dealbreaker.
Siege Seekers are good enoough for me, but I really want a proper Origin Soundwave who doesn't just T-pose but compacts at the bicep and telescopes the legs out into a tall and narrow streetlight mode, and a flying saucer Laserbeak to come with him. Rereleases of some of the most egregious scalper-bait among the last few years so Hasbro can pick up some of that money lying on the table to address their finance pinch would be acceptable first though. (I want a TR Misfire, dammit, but not enough to pay Titan prices for one!)
I do really want to get this wheeljack, and while it’s very blocky, it’s not something that bothers me. Also no picture prepared me for how giant the altmode gets, dear lord it’s huge. (Also side note, thanks for taking a look at the fan-art I made)

I don't get it. I've loved and collected Transformers since they were literally released - my first one was gears in 1984 when I was six. I just honestly don't get how anybody is looking at THIS version of Wheeljack and liking it! I think it's absolutely terrible. It's almost as kibble heavy as a Star Wars Crossover TF! Each to their own I suppose. At least if other TF fans are spending their money on this piece of crap, then they're not buying the figures I want!
I mean have you handled it yet? Sometimes there is just something that comes alive about toys when you've actually held them versus looked at them in pictures. I know messing with a figure has turned me around on more than a few things I though I'd hate.
Just finally found one of these and I heartily agree. He really just IS Wheeljack. I was out of the loop for a few years, but in all seriousness, the last figure I got that felt this much like a proper G1 Wheeljack was Energon Downshift.

I see all sorts of reviewers complaining about those pieces and how difficult they are to remove without said stretch marks forming. You are the only reviewer I’ve seen do so correctly. Actually, this is a repeat viewing. I didn’t notice the first time.
The chest piece got lost when my mom knocked him off my shelf. Unfortunately Target doesn’t have him anymore and I can’t find a replacement so it has trouble holding together in vehicle mode
I remember when they first showed him off, and I was way more excited about him than I was Tidal Wave (mostly because I just don’t buy Titans). I can now say with confidence that my excitement was more than justified. I picked him up a couple weeks ago, and I haven’t been able to put him down since. A fantastic and long-awaited rendition of my favorite Autobot :D
This is maybe the most gimmicks and episode-specific accessories a non-masterpiece Hasbro Transformer has had in the past few years. Kind of cool they are getting that people like that stuff finally.
Found only one at my target. As I walked out of the isle 4 dudes in their 40s ran in all audibly groaned when they didn’t see any more wheeljacks. I know they were looking for wheeljack because one of them saw I had one and gave me a death glare.
All the kibble and voyager price are so worth it. I would love a lot like this one. There´s a single pannel of Optimus in alt-mode in the first issue of the Marvel comic, use that!
I’m fairly certain that the thing that attaches to the shoulder cannon is a reference to the episode in G1 where the Autobots take control of the Constructicons
This is a great figure. The transformation is so fun, despite being panel heavy. I also love the colours. There's something about the sheen to that just looks like eye candy to me. It makes it look more cartoon accurate

I forget which issue, I wanna say somewhere in the underbase story line, but you can see Space Optimus Prime alt mode in the G1 comics. Also, all the chunk on space Wheeljack is just to store his gadgets and tools. He can use the siege Ratchet's "3rd mode" as a workbench.
Something else that I think should be mentioned is because the vehicle mode is resting on just a couple of pegs, from most angles it just looks like it’s hovering which is an awesome detail. I just got this couple of days ago, and love it

I want to make my wheeljack a faction switcher but still base him on the gen1 counterparts personality and appearance, and instead of being an autobot from the past that switched sides, he will have been part of the main cast for a season in a half before becoming a Decepticon so it can feel more impactful

Oh, I forgot - Arise, Wheeljackimus Prime! Sadly, a Prime Master will not fit inside his chest like on the WFCE mold, but one of the innumerable WFCE Optimus/etc. Matrixes certainly does!
Ngl i was waiting for you to cover this guy. After seeing the stock photos and the mixed reception, i really needed to hear the conissuer of space wheeljacks confirm my hopes. Honestly might just get him to serve as my main g1 wheeljack and replace the ER fig with his gorilla arms. Bro looked like he was about to go fight pink godzilla
I was going to skip this until I saw that, thanks to Target once again having insanely loose rules on their discounts, I could get it for $28 shipped, and it just arrived. You're right, the backpack isn't nearly as bad in hand as would be expected, and even without the other positives it'd be worth getting for the transformation expansion alone. But it also just looks so good! Like F-Zero added a racing van. Worst downside is the white plastic color matching is all over the place on mine, but when isn't it.
Finally found it at a target yesterday. Got two of them. Gonna paint the other green as reference to the courier ship form the first ratchet and clank.
@@PerspectiveEnd He's been pretty fun to fiddle with. It's nice that the vehicle kibble can tab in to keep secured on the legs, and the winglets have slots to help keep the backpack in place. Also a surprise with the backpack is that it was a cape coming out of the box. As for his accessories, just realized the "Sprinkler heads" he comes with for cutting through the flames can double as the "Dominator Disks" they used on Devastator. From that one episode of G1.
Kinda thought you were gonna hate this! Glad you liked it. Think Wheeljack really fits with Origin Bumblebee. Both are super kibble heavy, but retain all the good stuff. Agreed with Origin Jazz as well. The tabs broke off mine. Bloody clear plastic!

@@PerspectiveEnd nah true but old jobby was freaky both ways
Origins Bumblebee only came with 5 rods, so no, you aren't missing one.
Oh, I forgot - Arise, Wheeljackimus Prime! Sadly, a Prime Master will not fit inside his chest like on the WFCE mold, but one of the innumerable WFCE Optimus/etc. Matrixes certainly does!
I'm glad Jack got some love.
And I would love some space concept art figs.
Fun fact, in Marvel comics we saw cybertronian mode for Optimus
This video should’ve been titled “what’s the best space wheeljack?”
Be there or be square
This guy: ⬜
And he also showed up too.
I'd quote the wheeljack meme (we all know the one), but youtube probably won't like that so I'll just say _man_ I wish I could find this guy.
Wheel jack feels so much better when he's chonky
I was going to skip this until I saw that, thanks to Target once again having insanely loose rules on their discounts, I could get it for $28 shipped, and it just arrived. You're right, the backpack isn't nearly as bad in hand as would be expected, and even without the other positives it'd be worth getting for the transformation expansion alone. But it also just looks so good! Like F-Zero added a racing van.
Worst downside is the white plastic color matching is all over the place on mine, but when isn't it.
Bumble bee only came with 5 orange rods so if you want all 6 spots covered you’d have to buy 2 bumble bees
Finally found it at a target yesterday. Got two of them. Gonna paint the other green as reference to the courier ship form the first ratchet and clank.
How are you liking it?
7:50 You read my mind 😏
💀 *bro, that jobby shade came out of nowhere* 💀
He's blocky as the energon container I drink away my sorrows with every night and I love him. He's honestly really fun to handle despite some of the flaws.......however the severe lack of a lamppost Soundwave still urks me. I KNOW THERE'S A FAN MODE, NOBODY @ ME! a literal lamppost Soundwave is what I need!
Would that happen to be the Same Energon Container Kup has?
