agreed. there's no intent, it's just machinery gone awry, or perfectly right, too much power, right there, and even capable of using all of the various setups. and then, defeated not by some force of will, or trick, or friendship or anything like that. it's defeated by chaining it up, by bending it into natural flowing power into 2 different overpowering instruments with the full-fullbottle and then, in the latest film, is back, now in the hands of the bad guy. which has the same knowhow. brilliant
You know, regarding a lot of scariest moment in the franchise goes, i felt like that a lot of moment from Kuuga to Blade could probably fill this list, considering those period of time of Kamen Rider was notorios from it's execisive amount violence, death, creppy moment,and other nightmare fuel element. I'm not saying that other shows outside that period of time was tame or something , but i felt like there's something about those period of time in the franchise that still haunted me till this day.

Another honorable mention would be Metal Cluster Hopper debut. The fact Ark doesnt need to lift a finger to shred opponents is very unnerving, especially with how the suits are actually damaged instead of simply poofed away by that stage. Then Thouser's brawl with him is completely one-sided, showing just how outmatched ZAIA's president is against his own creation. It's a complete wash, noone managing to make a scratch on him, not even Vulcan desperately drawing his attention to find some way to end this encounter.
Like I said, RIP to any of the kids who got Lazer themed toys under their tree that year. Or god forbid, anything having to do with Genm/Dangerous Zombie.
I haven't seen much of the Showa era Kamen Riders, so I skipped those since I plan to watch them when I can. but for Heisei and Reiwa, I totally agree with the placements they got.
I personally think this was done better than with zero one to show how scary a kind man can be when he pushed over the limit not to say I dont like the whole aruto is ark one twist which really showed that sometimes that you should fear the villain but fear the hero more

I don't know if it can be considered scary, i think it's more harrowing and sad, *spoiler alert if you haven't watch the show yet* . . . . . . . but the scene from Kamen Rider Geats, where we're shown the truth about Neon and Akari, seeing a little girl dying on her birthday because hostage situation, her dead body being transported in front of her father eyes and then seeing her mother became mindbroken because of the lost, singing happy birthday in dark and empty room with mindless eyes it's really unnerving and sad. Usually if there's a ”dark and scary” scenes on rider, it's only happened on adult and it's not to over the top, with the over the top one usually reserved for spin-off or reimagining like The First/The Next movie, Amazons and Black Sun. But here, we got shown a child lifeless body being taken in front of her father eyes, it's really something. At first it's just a wild theory of some fans but when it became reality, oh boy that was really something
I'd say that counts! I put plenty of "more sad than scary" moments on here and I'm inclined to agree with you as someone who's seen all of Geats. Heavy stuff, that was...had me excited to see Beroba get what's coming to her too.

Oh, that's actually a really tough question! I'm still really fond of OOO, my introductory season but Build has a lot of my favorite moments in the series and I hold that one in pretty high regard...and then there's Kuuga, which I absolutely adored when I watched it and Gaim which I saw all the way through three separate times. Honestly, hard to pick just one lol How about you?
Understandable! You have plenty of good options with Tokushoutsu alone but out of all of them, Kuuga was probably my favorite. Zero One is definitely a good place to start too, it's the most modern and a lot of fun to watch! @@tomnumeco0526
