I agree with you. 43 acres of Big Sur with this manicured property and so many additional buildings in complete and total privacy and no remodeling required, yes I would say this is one of the rare uber expensive homes worth the asking price.
Totally agree. The design and property is phenomenal. And its not ostentatious or obnoxious. It doesn't feel like "new money" but simultaneously exudes quality of materials. This would be so beautiful in a harbor. I grew up on Long Island Sound in CT and it was so pretty looking across the harbor and seeing twinking lights of the homes on the other side. The man who owned this was not even 30 in 1971 when it was built. What a visionary to create such a place. Peter Mullin was his name.. this was only one of his homes. What a wonderful legacy he left. He started from humble means and lived the life of his dreams
Given the current California ocean front property values, I think it's worth far more than 21.5 mil. On an unrelated note, I am 100% a capitalist, but to think of all those lovely homes, each one with a view more spectacular than the last, belonging to one person, seems somehow unfair. Of course, were it open to the public, it would no doubt be promptly despoiled. Do we know anything about who owns it? Somebody who loved it, that's for sure.
Back in the day when roaming up and down the west coast I would make camp in different locations. Whenever in Big Sur I could camp completely unnoticed. Henry Miller lived there. He roamed, too.
I was great friends with Heather's ex (now late) husband for many, many years. How lovely to see some of her beautiful artwork has found its way to the USA!
Oh wow! I love this property and location! And I’m a child of the 70s, so the mid-century architecture and interior of the main house feels like home. And it ain’t too expensive for what you get either. I watch a lot of these luxury property tours here on TH-cam. So I’ve seen everything. But nothing comes close to this location and the views it provides. I love being by the ocean, and I think this is the best oceanfront property I’ve ever seen, just mind blowing! The buildings are a true second to the location. Imagine this place on a stormy day, just so atmospheric and poetic! And that giant driftwood horse sculpture is beautiful.
The grounds are so well kept. Also, perhaps you want to call structures like those Japanese ones “pavilions” instead of huts. Or gazebo is another good word. Hut makes it sound inelegant.
Agree with many comments here, one of the best properties I have ever seen on TH-cam, and purely location wise, the best by a margin. Honestly, I had to check the price 3 times. 21.5 mio? Sure, it's out of reach for the vast majority, but on a relative basis it seems extremely good value for money. The main downside is the 100 miles trips to the grocery store, the doctor's, and so on.
The south coast is amazing but this property - WOW! No words for this, just awe and worth the listing price for an ICONIC piece of land. Where the sea meets the mountains 🩵
I would never leave the property. Stock up food for months. I would have all our family there if they wanted to. Not crazy about California but I sure could live there. Absolutely beautiful and isolated, love it.
Hey, I’m new to your channel. I just want to say the videography is amazing all the shots are are edited so well. And gavren, your a great presenter. I love the little touches you add while taking us for a tour. Can’t wait to see what your future holds.
I first spotted this property on Google Street View while trying to plot Jack Kerouac's journey in his book Big Sur. It's lovely to be able to see it in all its majesty. A truly impressive tour.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. You have done an incredible job in describing every detail of this property, including the art work. The camera work was also incredible and professional. I felt you were giving me a personal tour because there was no comments being made by the cameraman. Thank you for that. You have done a great job.
That's because maintenance will cost more - it's a bargain at 21 million. Looking at some of the casitas, they'll need upgrades, and again maintenance. All those Koi ponds, expensive. Take into account errosion, and the fact salt water is highly corrosive - coastal properties are super expensive to maintain. n fact, I'd say whoever is doing maintenance now - what a great job they landed and good for them! My guess is unless some ultra wealthy exec buys this, it will be turned into a resort of some sort. While I think the property has some beautiful features, I admit I cringe when I see things like real coral and whalebone on display. I did have to laugh when the presenter talked about cooking in the main house kitchen. Seriously, no owner will be cooking in that kitchen ever. It will be a the hired gourment chef.

Definitely one of the true unique properties that's been toured on TH-cam. Nothing cookie cutter about it, it just fits perfectly in its setting. I'd love a bit more detail in the tour, but I also understand trying to keep things shorter for youtube metrics and you guys still did a great job.

21 million is an absolute STEAL for this property! Definitely one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever seen. So full of life, light, and character. Thoughtful and unique. Not sterile at all.
Great video. Also, those times you pointed out “redwoods”, they weren’t. The trees around that property are Monterey and Gowan Cyprus mixed with Bishop and Monterey Pine and even more special. Those trees are extremely rare to that part of the world. I live up the coast in Santa Cruz and we have a few unique species of those trees as well. The climates are that finite. Coastal Redwood spans from the southern part of the Santa Lucia Range all the way up to the Oregon border, so they’re also technically rare, but not as exquisitely rare as those you walked by! Edit: I saw a handful of redwoods and eucalyptus. Sneaky!
This is still for sale!!!! Just breathtaking!! Out of all the vids I’ve watched this place is a bargain!! WOW!! This is definitely worth the high price
"Bien sur" mens "of course" in French, so the name "Bien Suhr" perfectly describes the state of mind of a person that has the funds to purchase this - I dare to say. :D
Wow just speechless! If you opened that place up and made it a retreat you could make millions! But still to have the place all to yourself is a dream!
I don’t think people who buy these types of properties have issues paying 260k taxes a year. Life is just unfair to some. This could easily be there 2-3 property .
@@AB-ol5uz I don’t know? There’s a place down the road from me called twin rivers farm (it’s on TH-cam) and can be yours for 52 million. It costs about a mil a year for property maintenance. It’s more mowing than this but not as much gardening…
For $21.5 million dollars, this is definately worth every penny, infact it is underpriced. Love it ! Will need at least a million dollars per year for upkeep.

Yep. At that price, I'd imagine there'll be some bidding wars. buyer will get more than 21 million.
WOW! I thought a house like this in such a beautiful location existed only in fairytales!
WOW,
Thank you for sharing
the most beautiful landscape; house with extraordinary stunning to ocean view I have ever see .
Back in the day when roaming up and down the west coast I would make camp in different locations. Whenever in Big Sur I could camp completely unnoticed. Henry Miller lived there. He roamed, too.
Seems like it should be more than $21 million.
Wow!!! Crazy property!!!! I love everything 😻
Same here
I was great friends with Heather's ex (now late) husband for many, many years. How lovely to see some of her beautiful artwork has found its way to the USA!
21:12 The time when I got a shock ...
When he says it's time to go main house...😅😅
Soooo... how long did she wait for you in the car???
She’s still in the car…
She's the camera-woman
😂😂😂😂😂
Legend has it she’s still there
What, what are you saying the while I thought he came rolling in with a blow up doll?
The freaken VIEW OMG . Waking up every morning to that would complete my life
Agree with many comments here, one of the best properties I have ever seen on TH-cam, and purely location wise, the best by a margin. Honestly, I had to check the price 3 times. 21.5 mio? Sure, it's out of reach for the vast majority, but on a relative basis it seems extremely good value for money. The main downside is the 100 miles trips to the grocery store, the doctor's, and so on.
If you have year round staff they are making the majority of the supply runs for you, plus whatever you bring with you on your visits.
And then, there are helicopters . . .
The south coast is amazing but this property - WOW! No words for this, just awe and worth the listing price for an ICONIC piece of land. Where the sea meets the mountains 🩵
That was the most dreamy property I've ever seen. I just can't imagine it would be for sale long. Thanks for the wonderful tour! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I would never leave the property. Stock up food for months. I would have all our family there if they wanted to. Not crazy about California but I sure could live there. Absolutely beautiful and isolated, love it.
For anyone with the money, this is the place. Big Sur. It doesn't get any better than that. Anyone who has been there knows that.
It is gorgeous
However in a country with a dangerous culture
Which is sad Americans are really nice people.
@@h.neubert8770 what dangerous culture? I live like 20 mins from Big Sur and it's the best place you could live.
@@venkputta271 Yes, America has a dangerous culture...
Erosion and landslides though
@@h.neubert8770 Have you been to Big Sur? It's a peaceful little place.
Hey, I’m new to your channel. I just want to say the videography is amazing all the shots are are edited so well. And gavren, your a great presenter. I love the little touches you add while taking us for a tour. Can’t wait to see what your future holds.
Thanks so much!!
I first spotted this property on Google Street View while trying to plot Jack Kerouac's journey in his book Big Sur. It's lovely to be able to see it in all its majesty. A truly impressive tour.
Thanks for checking it out!
To me not close to the most beautiful home but easily one of the most beautiful properties!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. You have done an incredible job in describing every detail of this property, including the art work. The camera work was also incredible and professional. I felt you were giving me a personal tour because there was no comments being made by the cameraman. Thank you for that. You have done a great job.
Appreciate you saying that! Thanks for watching
21 million is a steal !
Indeed!
Did he just leave her in the car??
Who do you think is filming?

All the elements live harmoniously here.

I didn't want to leave.
It is now so deeply imprinted upon my Soul...I love that when that happens.
Also, first time on your channel and first time knowing this property even exists. An Oh Ha moment in time space continum. Synchronicity at play.

Lol.
Amazing property one of the most beautiful places in the US the Cabrillo Highway is an amazing drive
The best especially in a thunderbird lol
FYI: Peter Mullin and his wife, Merle
Their car museum was in Oxnard. Cars were of the vintage Jay Leno also collects… French classics... Voisins, Talbot-Lagos, Bugattis.
Museum closed in early 2024.
Wow! Amazing. Really beautiful. The glass ceiling in the living room really surprised me.
That is really amazing. The whole place is amazing.

Definitely one of the true unique properties that's been toured on TH-cam. Nothing cookie cutter about it, it just fits perfectly in its setting.
I'd love a bit more detail in the tour, but I also understand trying to keep things shorter for youtube metrics and you guys still did a great job.
Why do I feel like im cheating on Enes Yilmazer when watching this video? 😂😂😂😂 gorgeous property. Finally I see a property worth the asking prize. Grear job showing the property 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 my offer is 17M all cash and 3 day closing. Best and final. 😅
My bet is whomever purchases this property will do so in cash. This is an asset property
this has to be the most tranquil and beautiful property I have ever seen
Amazing property, I love the natural surroundings and the ocean views. Very generous at that asking price for all of that.
Absolutely beautiful property but masterfully shot. Intro was like a movie, beautiful! Infinity edge koi pond for the win.
Stop saying “Dr Seuss”
Dr. Seuss Karen Dr. Seuss Karen
Sneaky!
Great eye, felt like a botanical garden everywhere you went
@@Gavren Ain’t that the truth. Keep up the good work!
this one actually feels like a home, love it!
Absolutely amazing property, loved it.
It really is! Thanks for watching
Absolutely beautiful. I have never seen a property that is more breathtaking. It is what I would want to buy if I were a billionaire. Stunning!
Amazing property. The aesthetics are on a different level altogether.. nothing gaudy. Just beautifully done
This place is dreamy! Wish I could of seen a garage or 3.. and you did this property welll with your amazing video.. good job..
Thank you so much!
It’s called terra-cotta flooring not gridline. That that doesn’t even make sense “Gridline”. Terra-cotta flooring.
Truly outstanding! Thank you for showing us this property. So worth the price. Love it.❤💕
The taxes for a $21M house is $263K per year. Not counting any additional taxes that the county has approved.
@@jamesdellaneve9005 and probably a million or more a year in maintenance and grounds keeping…
I don’t think people who buy these types of properties have issues paying 260k taxes a year. Life is just unfair to some. This could easily be there 2-3 property .
@@Bltwll doubt it's that hight in maintenance annually but the insurance may be interesting...
@@AB-ol5uz I don’t know? There’s a place down the road from me called twin rivers farm (it’s on TH-cam) and can be yours for 52 million. It costs about a mil a year for property maintenance. It’s more mowing than this but not as much gardening…
And worth every penny!
Bir Sur... A wonder of Nature... It is a place where dreams are created into a reality like this wonderful estate!
The cost of the upkeep... if you have to ask... you can't aford it!
drink every time he says "property".
Or Dr Seuss....lol
For $21.5 million dollars, this is definately worth every penny, infact it is underpriced. Love it ! Will need at least a million dollars per year for upkeep.
Definitely. De-finite-ly.
If this guy is making a video touring the whole home it means they can't sell the house. The house needs a lot of work to be brought up to modern standards.
I love this property!!!
Every single frame of this tour was breathtaking. The price seems a bargain for a property of this quality.
I love Big Sur. It’s very cool most of the year. If you like warm days, this isn’t the place.
The ONLY downside. You are right, unfortunately. But think how magical those 30 or 40 sunny days are!
I do not like warm days. Over 65 and I’m dead. I live north of Seattle.
I would be able to be very happy living in this house.
@@spinflux I live 45 miles inland of LA. It gets hot here. 108F. I didn’t like it for the 1st few years, now, I’ve adjusted to the warmer temperatures. It’s also cooler than LA in the winter. I am good for up to 94 since it’s drier here (20 to 30%). 9 months of nearly perfect weather and no bugs. Big Sur would have me in sweaters year round. But…..that main house is amazing. The views.
@@jamesdellaneve9005 I grew up near Miami so I feel you there. My family then moved to Palm Springs! I stayed in Florida until moving to the PNW. My mother acclimated well to the heat but I could never get used to it. I’d probably expire trying to live where I grew up now. Visiting home is something I only do in winters these days.
@@spinflux Palm Springs gets even hotter. That’s another 65 miles from where I live. I’ve been there when it’s 115. But, it’s even more dry there. I grew up in Buffalo. I go in the spring and fall. I used to sleep in the basement during the hot muggy summers.
Magical property. I am stunned 😮 how beautiful this property is.
🌞And California is the most hated state in all USA 🤣. I actually think they're all jealous really. I drove through Big Sur last summer on the way up to Santa Cruz. Scenic route. I'm from San Diego.
Big Sur is goated
Great video! My wife and I played a drinking game and every time you said the word ‘property’ we drank! Now we are definitely drunk.. thanks!!
It’s Well Worth It
I agree
The most beautiful house on TH-cam ever.
Way better value than that Malibu garbage with no property for 3x as much
And shitty neighbors.
Nice job in showcasing this amazing piece of breathtaking property. I watched it to the very end and I felt so tranquil. At peace. Bravo!
The grounds are amazing.
