This time around we will highlight one athlete per video, similar to Talbot’s Kona series in the past.
A combination of pro men and pro-women will showcase what’s in store for what will surely be an exciting event on May 7th.

Lionel is right. When times get tough (pandemic, race relocate) whoever wins is the one who survived all the obstacles the best. It's Ironman at its core.
Running my first marathon this coming Sunday, I want to adopt the mindset of “what’s the worst thing that can happen!!!”

Talbot, could you do a video the day after the race that focuses on day 1 recovery? I’m very curious to see how some of these guys feel after an IM as I’m usually pretty wrecked. Seeing how they feel and what they do/eat would be pretty insightful though
This video is a master class on the art of competition. I have never heard it put better by anyone. Lionel, I have shared the course with you in St. George several times but none as special as it will be on May 7th, 2022. Good luck and thank you for always keeping it honest.

You're probably right when you said Gustav and Christian are the best at the moment. It may have been different if Gustav was on the start line yesterday. Nevertheless you had a awesome race. Great nutrition plan, great gestion of the race. People were doubting you would ever come back from where you were on the bike but those who have been following you knew you had it in you. Sitting at the back was probably you best chance at finishing strong... and you did. Awesome battle Lionel. Good job. I cannot wait to see you post race brief. Keep inspiring us all age groupers! Bravo!

Linonel, in my head you’ve already won! Seeing your genuine happiness in this video is why we love you- it was hard to see you struggle, and I know I’m not alone in saying that it’s awesome to see you on the other side of this journey. It’s your sportsmanship, your grit, and transparency that make me want to support your sponsors….for me, results at the IMWC are secondary. I think finding your happiness in the sport is something many people relate to because that’s the majority of people in the sport. I’m mid pack at best but I keep coming back because it captures that joy I had as a kid discovering sport. I hope your sponsors take note! People love what you, Sam, Gustav, Jan, TO, Rinny, MBK, and so many others bring to the sport and we’d be less collectively w/o you all. I hope you have a joy-filled race!

But what you do better than anyone in the world is put triathlon on the sports map no one has exposed themselves or has been a better promoter you have the heart of a lion. I brag about you all the time and you motivate the hell out of me, and just for the record I’m 70 and pushing to break a 2 hr half marathon and you help me that. You don’t need luck your a beast. This is probably the one race where I’d love to see the Norwegians totally bomb. We are always seemingly looking for the next “flavor of the month” and then we all latch onto it….or, at least those that cover tri latch onto it. St. George is a different type of animal…..there is an experience element here that will play into the race.
