In today's video I am very grateful to see my Great Grandfather Chris Jensen grew up on our original family farm in Denmark! I want to thank the Toft family, who were so kind to me during my visit. My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am an 18-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

Update 05-04-23. I talked to her and she told me she had some health issues and had to take a break form youtube. She will be back. She said she appreciates everyone's prayers.

some years back, I had a chance to visit my great grandparents graves and I found it to be a humbling experience. I found it humbling to visit some of the places where they lived and travelled to. I imagine you were struck with that same sense of reverence as you travelled along the same paths that your great grandparents travelled also. it's nice to see how strong your bonds to family are.

Wow!!! That is so amazing! You are rich in more ways than one. This is an experience you will never forget. The older you get, the more interesting history gets. I am going to Norway for my 70th birthday this summer. I am pure Norwegian and this is the first time I will see it. I do not think I will see any of my ancestors places and don't even know where to begin to look. You will cherish this memory forever!! Congratulations!!

Great to see your Great grand parents house still in use! Unfortunately, my grand & great grand parents homesteads have pretty much returned to nature. However, when we last visited, there were still a few remnants of the old log structures.

So nice Kate that you were able to see where your Grandparents lived in lovely Denmark . You are just the right person to make a report like this. Many younger people are so caught up in their own lives they would not care who their Grandparents were or where they lived. Every video I have seen about Germany and Denmark always showed Homes, Farms and Towns that were Well Kept, Clean and a people who had a strong work ethic.

Kate has so much to offer to us non famous, non media types. We have zero complaints. Every 3rd Thursday of the month we have a big turkey dinner. We call ot our monthly Thanksgiving. . Even after 3 months of healing, their is no less enthusiasm in our home for Kates message than if she had made a video every day. On top of what we all have to be grateful for with our own family.m

Hello from Denmark. The first crop you showed (the green one) were horsebeans, similar to soybeans, from your country, but horsebeans can grow in a cooler climate. The second crop was wheat without beards, very common in Denmark. It sounded so funny (Sorry) when you said "Bjæverskov" the town where the yellow church was. I live about 60 miles west of where your ancestors came from.

That area of Denmark looks beautiful and so peaceful too. The church and its grounds are clearly looked after with care. Times must have been harder back in 1912 to make people emigrate - Denmark’s loss was Montana’s gain. Good to hear that the ties between the two places are still in place and thriving.

It's so cool that you were able to trace back part of your family history so far and be able to visit this location.
As a point of contrast a few years ago I decided to visit all of my childhood homes and those of my relatives from the 1950's and 1960's and found they have either burned down or been demolished. Quite a difference between the US and Europe in that regard.

Miss Kate, In case you are unaware Montana author and professor at UM Ivan Doig wrote several historic novels about homesteading the Two Medicine area of Montana in about the same time frame as when your Greatgrandfather homesteaded your land. Two of my favorite books of all time are titled "Danc'n at the Rascal Fair" about beginning a homestead followed on by "English Creek" about life in a homesteading community. Prof Doig led an interesting life in that his father was a sheepherder in the White Sulphur Springs area when he was born, his mother died when he was only 6, he was raised by his father and eventually his grandmother as well and he went on to graduate college and become a full professor. Check him out, you might find it very interesting.

We always love to travel to Denmark! Once we see all of our family, we always travel to other parts! Like Albour, and even visit relative in Seldgwich Holstein that is now Germany!!! They won’t leave because the land was in the family for centuries.

I have visited Denmark many times since 1967! Yes, my enter family is Danish! As is my Last Name! This Michelson Family Branch is 110% Jewish, with deep ties to the Jewish Communities in both Denmark, and England!

I've traced mine back to 1607 in England 🇬🇧. Never been out of Australia 🇦🇺. However my great grandparents immigrated to Australia 🇦🇺 in the 1850s.

So glad you found your ancestor at a church mine I found up a tree lol I think it neat how you found all that I found out my family came over from Ireland and landed in North Carolina in 1830 ish and made there way to Tennessee
