My Self Reliance - Ariel lives in the state of Wyoming. The year-round freezing is due to the elevation at which she leaves, about 10,000 feet, in the mountains.
This entire pandemic, I have been watching TH-cam videos about these people living in a tiny house into the woods. It makes me happy and help me not think about when this pandemic would come to an end. The only thing I've learned during this pandemic is that people like her living away off grid are the luckiest of all - pandemic hit the cities with many people but never heard of isolated places get infected with whatsoever. The fact that they have live there years prior to the pandemic its normal for them not to see much people around and enjoy their normal life without mask on. I'm currently working abroad for the purpose of me being able to experience how people in the city live compare to where I used to spend my entire younger life in the province and it really is very different. After this pandemic I would surely head off from the city and go back to living in a peaceful, liveable and worthy life in the province/mountain. I have been following Ariel for nearly the entire time she has had her TH-cam channel and highly recommend her blog and her channel when she returns to TH-cam. The more I watch people living in tiny homes the more I am convinced that "witches" were just people who wanted to live alone. Loners, the ones with austerity and independence in their veins. I absolutely adore this life style and hope to be living it soon with my family.
This is more true than you realize. Many witches in the US were independent women who owned land, were unmarried (spinsters or widows) who were executed in order to legally steal their property.
@@trees915 I'm sure lavinder11 did not intend for his use of the word "spinster" to be derogatory. When put into context of the era of the Witches of Salem in the 17th century, that was the standard word used for unmarried women over the usual (for that era) age. I myself was a sworn spinster before getting married at the age of 36 many years ago, and it did not faze me at all to be called as such. On the contrary, I was rather offended when someone tried too hard at being PC, by calling me a bachelor instead! Too much fuss over such trivia.
@@kina7128 I am well aware of the historical context and the term needs to stay in the past. I don't care much for political correctness in many contexts, however, it does have its place in some, especially if civilization is going to continue to evolve.
@@trees915 There's nothing derogatory in the word spinster. Quite the opposite as it's used for strong, independent women who did not need husbands to take care of them. If you are one, be proud! Shout it from the hilltop!
Thank-you for bringing Ariel back to TH-cam, if only for this one time. I have missed her content for the past 7 months. This was very well put together.
We have been living in our self-built homestead for ten years now. Raised our daughter here. Everything thereafter will be easier if you have a tight homestead 😊 Best wishes from SW Wisconsin!
Beautiful Home, beautiful lifestyle, beautiful Human being, and of course, a beautiful doggie. Tiny living however is forbidden in many areas of the U.S. If you go off grid, the local monopolies cannot make money off of you. A real choice of living is real freedom. Congrats to Ariel.

She's depends on everyone, not off grid, she doesn't own the land that she is in, she depends on the neighbor for water. The minute the owner and the neighbor move or change their mind she's screwed. She's living off everyone else.
who didnt build her house she paid someone WOW HOW IMPRESSIVE!
So I can go park my mobile home in someone else's property which is what she did and use someone else water, not pay rent, mortgage, taxes or insurance which is what the owner of the property is doing and call myself self-sufficient and off the grid? Is like someone saying I moved out of my parents house a d have my homestead off-grid but still lives in their land and has use of the property while not paying nothing
I love her garden and how well she explained why and how this works for her.
I've really missed Ariel's channel. Glad to see she is doing well.
Same here
Snap!
I have learned so much from Ariel’s Channel, absolutely miss her!!!
Me too
I have been following Ariel for nearly the entire time she has had her TH-cam channel and highly recommend her blog and her channel when she returns to TH-cam. Every video she has posted is chock full of great information as well as being very entertaining. Ariel has a gift for teaching and explaining things. Over the years, i have particularly enjoyed her gardening and cooking videos. If people want to see what real off grid, tiny house life is like, they should follow Ariel. She does not sugar coat things and offers practical solutions to questions about tiny house living. Thank you for highlighting Ariel and her tiny home.
Amen. I miss her TH-cam channel so much. I learned so much from her.

I have been dreaming about this for years, about self-sustainability and a free life, and I have been working on it for some time. It is much easier for me when I see how successful other people have been, and I am glad that a lot of young people are also turning to this movement. Thank you for the video! 🤗🤗💚💚
Best of luck 👍 Now that you're young, reach for your dreams. I wanted a life like this when I was young.
Go for it💞💓👍🏻
Ariel has a very beautiful life and I truly appreciate her sharing it with all of us and for you guys to help share it too. She is a great inspiration to live a meaningful life and trying other ways of living that may be better suited to each of our unique lives.
Mike Woods Well said. I wish you you luck on your lifes journey and may you find meaning in all that you do. Namaste 🙏
@@Just-Nikki Thank you! I hope you do the same!

I've always wanted that 😔

No alarm clock??? I wonder what that's like
@ right!
Even better when what you love is being outside with your hands in dirt. I'm in the process of saving the money for a property so I can do this, but with sheep, chickens, and a milking goat.
I admire her independence and ability, not to mention her knowledge on surviving
I feel like Ariel is the OG tiny houser! She deserves madd respect. I hope she gets more followers from this. She has a wonderful catalog of videos that are useful for anyone, whether you live tiny or not!
You should convert those upstairs closet doors to sliding, barn-style doors. No need to flip up the mattress!
clever....
But then you need room on left and right. And not much room up there.
@@rosylemons it wouldn't need to come out beyond where it is already, you only need space for two tracks inside. It would essentially be as much or slightly more space inward as the doors are now. You roll the door to the left or right, and because you have two tracks, you don't take up outward space.
Or even just switching the doors to curtains would make for easier access.
I'm literally going to go insane if I don't get a lifestyle and gorgeous tiny house like this one😭 Kudos to her for liberating herself. Enjoy the stunning nature!🥰💙💚
Wonderful share! I’m off-grid too and just learned how to split wood - it’s so rewarding!! As are most things I’ve learned while living this way ❤️
Do you have your channel ?
@@saketdeshmukh6881 it seems she has click on her pictures it would direct you there
Ariel has the perfect aesthetic and layout of any tiny house! She's a great example of hard work and how much you put into it is what you get out. Great practical attitude and work ethic.
@@lavinder11 Spinster is a derogatory term.
Our best advice for someone wishing to homestead in a cold climate (I guess anywhere) would be to super insulate.
This looks fabulous, lovely home and lady. And let's not forget that cute dog. I like the filming. All focus on the owner and lifestyle.
tineke joldersma I’m pretty sure all footage is by Ariel herself. Looks like Ariel herself recorded the interview and sent it over to them along with archive footage from her channel. Her channel has a lot of interesting information from bird feeder setup to gardening to cooking.
The dog 's name is Burley.
This is the way we all should be living.
In yet 20 s it's ok. Never again!♡
Living like this I enjoy so much but not any more get to old do that
the live is not for "all". But its amazing ... i live 5 jears this way, i never go back.
Yes indeed!!
No, no it's not. It's ok for some but I certainly wouldn't want that life. Besides, wilderness doesn't need billions taking it over. We do enough of that!
She's a strong lady! I love that she has ultimate financial freedom and able to do what she loves! I also love her garden and the inside of her home. It feels very homey and well loved!
The flow of your videos is so smooth that I never stop in the middle, I always watch them in one run!
That's great to hear, thanks for the feedback and for watching :)
You mentioned a guest bed, and room at the table for friends...what time shall I come over? Lol You are inspiring!!
Lol 😂
I really like her tiny house. Simple, somewhat rustic, not elaborate--just right. She's pretty active too. I'd be scared of bears and other wild life there, but if she can do it, good for her. Very strong abilities!
I would also be afraid of 8 months of snow. It amazes me people don't move to the south
🐻
I've been watching Ariel at Fy Nyth for many years. She's a lovely, smart and practical young woman. She made a quick video the other day but am hoping she's coming back for good. Thank you for the video.

Nothing wrong with that.
Have watched a lot of homestead tours and this one is probably my favorite so far. What a great set up and a wonderful way to arrange your life. I hope more people move in this direction. Thanks for the great video.
Love the fact that you're living your life on your own terms and in such a simplistic, yet creative way.
Fantastic!
Aww thanks for putting together this lovely little glimpse into life here at Fy Nyth!
Hi Ariel. We've all missed you! 😘
How can one person be this awesome. What a great life she is living
She is living my dream except, I own a beautiful piece of property to do it. Working on doing it myself by next spring.
Good luck with your property. I hope it goes well and you end up with something you love. X
All the very best, you can do it :)
Good Luck! I also own a property. About a half acre. I am in the process of building a tiny home too. I am also starting a small garden. Not much yet, but I am getting there little by little.
good luck!! :)
Yes do it!! You got this!!!😊
I remember watching her videos many years ago when she just got her wood stove. I can't believe it's been 6 years now! She's really done so well for herself and is living the dream!
what a gorgeous tiny house! the fact that it`s self sufficient just makes it even better!
I'm planning on doing the same in 2 years. I'm so happy to see i am not crazy and living like this is really possible. Thank you for sharing 🌱
If you are wealthy, permanently not in a relationship and don't like to work a regular job, a trailer may be the life for you!
THIS LADY IS SUPERWOMAN! I live on a bush homestead in Alaska (no road, back-pack or fly-in supplies) and after hauling water from the spring, splitting wood, etc find it too easy to RELAX. But Ariel does 10 times as much and isn't tired!!
I love your bed of flowers surrounding your home. It truly makes your tiny house feel like a home. Also, your pup is so adorable!
Having watched Ariel for a number of years, I love to see her on this channel. I'm a city person love it and am not inclined to this type of lifestyle but I totally admire her. I hope its ok that I say this but she has a wish list on Amazon and if you can, check it out and send a little support to her. Watch her you tube and go to her blogs and see her share not only her strength but her talent. She is good at about everything. Her photography is wonderful.
Oh wow so great to see Ariel and her beautiful place here. Ariel was my introduction to tiny house living 😉🐶. It’s amazing how much work she puts into her garden and land around. She’s a genuine off grid gal who can do it all. 👍🏼❣️ All the best Ariel!
I absolutely love this set up in terms of heating, water, power and the toilet. It's self-sufficient without being too difficult to deal with
I am so envious of off grid living. It looks so peaceful and satisfying. All of the things that SHOULD matter, matter once again. You start to take pleasure in what mother nature provides for us all.... such a beautiful incantation. 💚
I live the complete opposite life as you (high rise in a large city). I admire your lifestyle. It seems so freeing and healthy.
Dawww... felt sorry for the pup about the stairs but the bit about lifting him up and down made me smile 😘
Loving this layout. Its nice to see a workable kitchen in a tiny house.
I’m impressed with everything she’s done!!
Beautiful..we should all be living this way..as we did in the past 🙏🏻
When did we live in 150,000 dollar trailers? In what past was that? Seriously?
I trully miss Ariel. I loved watching and learning from her. God bless you Ariel. You are surely missed.

This is literally my dream, all of this. How refreshing 💕 Really lovely off grid living & how healing. Sustainable living is something I truly want, I love watching these videos 💕
Oh my that was the best videos about tiny homes and living off grid that I have ever seen. What a beautiful home. And the freedom you have with the type of jobs you do is incredible. How wonderfully inspiring. I would love to have this type of a lifestyle. 🙂
Freedom to do what tho - looks a bit boring tbh.
I grew up in a rural area in Puerto Rico moved to the USA when I was a teenager. I’m always craving this type of lifestyle, specially this year. 🥺 She’s truly leaving my dream
The moment I saw the first picture of the tiny house, my immediat thoughts were: yeah, Ariel! 😊
Good to see that she's fine!
I hope she will come back to her YT channel...
You're so blessed to be young enough to be able to do the labor to make your life happy and healthy. God bless you dear. Thank you for the enjoyable tour and to visit with such a gracious hostess
I love Fy Nyth! Her winter camping content is awesome.
Where is that
I am in South Africa
@@leslierindel4610 Somewhere in the far north U.S. I'd guess. I love her lifestyle except for the location. The last place I'd want to live is somewhere winter lasts 8 months of the year. South Africa has perfect weather. Their idea of hot there made me laugh. There are many locations in the U.S. where it gets over 100 degrees F (37.77 Celsius) for weeks on end. Texas, Arizona, parts of California, etc. all get much hotter than Cape Town.
For that cabinet, which only opens when you flip the mattress up: Just add a third hinge and cut the door above the matress's height.
Very clever. I have a similar problem and this plan would do nicely.
Had the same thought ;)
Flowers do such a great job of elevating any building.
Great role model for people who might want to pursue this kind of lifestyle.
She is literally my hero and has been for years ❤🦋🌻
I found this channel a long time ago. love her.
She's awesome and her lifestyle is so neat! I love how unpretentious this video was.
Really great to see someone who's been happily living tiny for this long! Kudos to her for designing her life around what she actually wants instead of others'/society's expectations! I do wonder how she gets healthcare, that's always my first thought when people don't have full-time jobs.
I loved the idea of tiny houses in winter snow! It reminds me of the childhood home drawing I used to make.
Ariel needs to teach people how to do this, if we can live more resourcefully like this then our world will thrive and everything in it. ✌️❤️
You soon may have no choice.
Thank you for the tip about the propane ignition.
She is an absolute badass. I love this lady. You are so inspiring not just for me but for the future generations to come. Thank you.
I was just thinking about Ariel last night while still contemplating a tiny house during the winter. She’s my heroine 🦸♀️
Ariel has been living in her tiny house about 3 years longer than me. Our houses are almost identical except hers is 2 feet longer. I built mine unlike her. I used the same plans from the same company. I told her if I had to do it over again, I'd have a builder do it. It took me over 3 years and I'm still not 100% done but overall I am happy. The problem I had was finding a good electrician and plumber. Tiny houses are fairly new so not many familiar with them. I pretty much live off grid like her...hand pouring my own water etc. That does get real old but I am 62 and had major back surgery a few years ago. You did a great job doing her video!!
interesting. How much space is there for insulation between the walls?
Thank you for being so truthful and honest about your build and what you are doing. This is what I'm looking for
I have seen a good number of Tiny House postings from this channel, and this one is the only one, so far, I would be happy living in. Maybe because I like how it looks and how the inside looks, but if I had to pick one, this would be it for sure
Cozy little home. Lovely living.
What a lovely young woman, she is so hardworking and a great custodian of her environment,I wish her every success in her future life.
Definitely awesome Tiny house, lovely lifestyle with nature and her dog is adorable 💓 now i dream for me a Tiny house like this 🤗
So weird. Yesterday I was just thinking what ever happened to "Fy Nyth" or so it was in my minds memory. The ladies hair is lighter this time around, but she seems just as happy, if not happier than a few year ago. Wonderful!
I had been thinking the same thing Litogeorge. Her old channel sort of disappeared. Glad I found her again.
@@natewrites7803 - Her channel is still there, she just doesn't post on it. She did just post an update on it however, and does give information and links to other ways of keeping up with her. Her videos have been missed.
Ariel does have a nice life. I've been following her story for awhile now. Although it's not something I can currently do, her lifestyle is an inspiration.
