- A video on a faster and easier way to replace a starter on the yamaha r1's. Its already a tedious job,why make it harder than it has to be right? The same technique can be used on other years as well.
Great video helped me a lot. I was able to remove the thermostat and the coolant pipe as one piece without the need for removing the fiddly jubilee clip near the thermostat.
Just did this today on my r1 was easier than i thought thanks to this guy 🔥🔥🔥
I do the same nice to know I can do it again on this r1, figured this out on my own when changing the starter on the 07 and now I got an 09

@@DevonBbrown I just ended up taking the starter motor out. Unfortunately is not something I can just clean and that's it. Tomorrow I will need to get it fix or buy a new one.
@@juanserrano-mivueltaenmoto I need to do a video on how to rebuild the starter motor. Which I will do soon. Just having some issues with utube at the moment. Once I get it figured out I'll post it.

You say you hear the motor trying to engage? Get a multimeter and do a voltage drop test while you crank. See what it says
Definitely will try tomorrow if not will be getting back in contact with you but if you. Have time tomorrow would like to pick ya brain on the phone or video if all possible. I like to leave and this my first bike that I'm going all the way through

I personally can do it in about 1-1.5 hours. But if it's someone's first time it'll take a little longer. Maybe 2-3 hours.
Hi I have a question, my bike just clicks once I try to start it. Replaced starter relay, battery, & I did jump start it. It turned on but it sounded like it was going to die. I turned it off & tried to turn it on & it started clicking again where the starter relay is
If it clicks do a voltage drop test. See how much the battery voltage drops when you push the start button. If it drops but not below 9-10 volts. Then your starter is bad. However a bad starter won't make your bike idle roughly
@@DevonBbrown I did that previously & it only dropped about 1-2 volts
@@juanmorales-perez4629 if it only drops 1 or 2 volts and the lights on the dash go out than it's your starter that's not allowing it to start. If it was any other issue such as lock stand or kill switch than the relay wouldn't click. But that doesn't address the right idle issue.
