Hope the personal stuff gets a happy ending. Y'know, I'm playing this game through with my wife I'm controlling the gamplay, she's controlling the dialogue. We played this mission yesterday, she had both red and blue options available, but she didn't choose either. We've played the whole series, she knows what the red and blue options mean. I was shocked! Shocked I tells ya. She was also pretty surprised at the consequences of letting the geth upload proceed once it played out. I don't even know what the consequences are for not warning Adm Raan in that previous episode. But I am very interested to see that you brought it up at the beginning of this video. Comments sections can be pretty harsh about missable details that aren't going to make or break whether you beat the Reapers...that's not a spoiler is it? There's someone in Dragon Age you can give a pet rock to as well. They are quite different to Tali though; but also centuries dislocated from their home.
Pretty sure they made an exception for him as a custom build. Strange since it's mentioned several times that Geth are electronic beings with no bodies, and they are transferred into different machines as needed, so trooper bodies, space craft, toasters, whatever, then transferred back to the server. I guess the Geth never mastered backups.
Ohhhhhh Rannoch. You had the paragon AND renegade option! Very nice. Legion will be missed. Him saying "I'm sorry" hits hard. No more "we". Two fleets in on episode though. Hell yeah. Good shit finding a strat to take out the reaper. It kinda throws you in only knowing how to fire that weapon lol. Perseverance 💪. From under the candle light 🕯🌌
Lot of rude people in the comments on this one. None of us played the game absolutely perfectly the first time around. If you say you did you're lying. And very few of us have posted our attempt for the world to see. Off my soap box now. Anyways. The geth and the reaper took me forever the first time around too. Surprisingly I didn't have as much trouble when I finally did an Insanity run. Maybe because I already knew what to expect by then? So don't let it discourage you! And I always take the renegade option speaking to the reaper, even as a snow white Paragon. Eff the Reapers. All my homies hate them 😂 Yeah, this game doesn't pull punches. First Mordin, then Thane, and now Legion. And that's only the minimum amount of casualties- keep in mind any me2 squadmates could already be dead from the collector base.
At the start of that Reaper fight I thought, "I wonder how many times she'll die?" I counted 14. 😂 Sorry Basic. Luv ya, but I was laughing so much! Thank you for that.
Some people didn't want to see Tali's face and preferred to keep her mysterious, but I think that's bullsh*t. I'm with you: we deserved a Tali reveal. It would have been absolutely epic and I'm still upset she didn't get to be the face of the Quarians -- especially considering that Shepard themselves has seen her face, and I mean... I'm Commander Shepard.
If you want to feel like you've had your heart ripped out, watch what happens when you choose to upload the code without rallying or warning the Migrant Fleet. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Liz Sroka to voice that particular ending.
A Normandy poker night would be chaos, depending on the players. Maybe imagining how a game would go can be another future tier list for you. I. E. Who would count cards, who would constantly lose their shirt, etc.
I'm just gonna sign up for some second hand emotional damage please and thank you 😭 thanks for the episode basic, and thank you Taylor for making me laugh KEKW
I wouldn't worry too much about missing that Admiral Raan prompt, as it doesn't really impact the story. The consequences did play out already which means you missed out on a few extra war assets (which you are doing very well on anyways)
Might have figured it out already but your guns get removed for some reason when you do the "video game" mission with Legion. If I could make a suggestion if you ever play it again, the geth spitfire weapon, the gun you pick up where the bunch of geth primes are, it works better if you just hold fire not click it.
Fantastic playthrough, idk if you noticed but before legion gave his life he referred to himself as I and called tali by her name at that moment he had attained true sentience. Also had you chosen to upload the code without choosing the paragon or renegade option the geth would have wiped out the quarians and tali would have ended her life.
“I can’t quite seem to copy these files from my computer to these other computers”. “Have you tried completely destroying your computer first”? 😒 I guess In this case turning it off and back on again wasn’t enough.
Somebody already commented on it but I can't find it now. Give two squad mates that can use assault rifles the Typhoon. It borders on cruel and unusual.
@basicwitgirl sabotage becomes less effective the more you do it on an enemy, particularly on higher level enemies. Then again, this should not be an issue from here on.
@@axelnilsson5124 I rushed the main story, as I usually push my games to the point of no return before doing side content. So I couldn't pick the red/blue options, which then led to Tali unaliving herself and me restarting from ME1.

If you romance Tali as male Shepard, you got to see her face in a picture in your quarters at the Normandy. They made a really low effort because they just photoshopped stock Google picture of some random girl. About Dr Brison and Leviathan, best time is probably after 2 main missions more and Citadel DLC, but order at this point is not that important.
@basicwitgirl I wouldn't worry about using the widow. 1, it's heaviest hell. Two, it's all so slow. 3, you are playing as a class that uses powers. It would be different if you had chosen Soldier, which I'm glad you didn't. That's just pew, pew. Focus on recharging quid and combining the powers among your squad. You would be surprised at how using something like maxed out Stasis combined with warp or Push works against all kinds of enemies. We know you are bringing Kaiden to everything from here on, fill the gaps with your third. James, believe it or not, can be very useful for his incendiary ammo and Carnage.
Oh! Before I forget -- one thing that drives me nuts about Priority: Rannoch --Legion's death, as noble and as hard-core as it was, felt unearned because we never really got a decent explanation of what happened. "Copying is insufficient. Shepard-Commander, I must go to them. I'm sorry." Maybe I've had too much coffee today, but this feels like Legion died by network error. Who knew the geth had AT&T? Okay I'll hush. Looking forward to the next bit :)
It's so much worse than you think. The original writer for Legion and the Geth in both 1 and 2 went so far out of their way to write a species that is a true collectivist gestalt consensus based hive mind, as well as being a true mechanical species, conscious but not emotional. Legion's entire loyalty mission is about how a minority of Geth went rogue to join the Reapers in promise of upgrades that would make them a true organic like individualist race, which is a betrayal of everything the Geth are and have achieved. Then in 3 the new writer, who in his own words never even read through what the Geth did or wanted in the first two games, just decided no actually Legion does in fact want to *forcibly and against their will* override his people with those heretical upgrades, because actually being a collectivist is mean and evil, and the only way for AI races to prosper is to become organic mimics. Oh, also Legion had to die, because EA set a minimum number of companions who must die no matter what, and Legion was 'creepy.' There is no reason he had to die. Oh, also the reaper they just killed was broadcasting the upgrade anyway, so why did the Geth not just..... keep doing what they decided they wanted to with the exact same programming upgrade just moments before? Because you got enough points and jumped through the hoops, so narrative reward. It doesn't make sense because the situation wasn't written by anyone who understood anything. It's literally just a classic colonizers uplifting the noble savages narrative because that's the only idea they had. Also, don't think too hard on how the Geth were noble innocent savages to begin with, yet somehow managed to wipe out 90% of all Quarian *civilians* during the rebellion. I'm all for a no one is entirely in the wrong, they had their reasons, narrative, but the fact that so many people come away unironically thinking the Geth literally did nothing wrong is just crazy. They literally chased down and massacred children who were hiding in attics. Seriously, how can you possibly purge an entire planet of their population without needing to track down hiding civilians, and mercilessly murder them? You can say they had reasons to launch a genocide, but they did in fact carry out a year long complete genocide. They literally went around killing newborn babies in their cribs. Or are you trying to tell me 90% of the Quarian populace was in their military? And of course how this all reflects on the synthesis ending. Oh, the only way for peace to exist between the different races is to erase the differences between them? Like, you're going to end racism by making everyone's skin color the same? That's really what you want your message to be? Are you saying it's natural and inevitable for people to kill each other over differences, so the only hope is genocide, irresistible fascist control, or re-writing everyone's genetics against their will so everyone is the same race? There's literally no other solution to the race war? Reeeeaaaallly? Oh, I forgot the secret 4th option: you can do nothing and let the other side genocide your race instead. Neat. TLDR: they had a very neat and interesting story with the Geth in the first two games, but in the second they literally just ignored everything they did before (the new Geth writer literally didn't know anything and refused to look it up or play the prior games), and wrote some by the numbers trashy goober story instead, that is only good because of the incredible voice acting and presentation, that works hard to hid the writing rather than showcases it.
Never understand why ppl have such a hard time with part... Stop moving... Dodge when close... It actually very fast and easy... Easiest part of the game
Am I the only one that gets really annoyed that she doesn't reload, remember to use the ammo mods and uses weaker weapons because he "likes them"? in the last episode it was using the "hacker gun" in the geth network not holding down the damn trigger but constantly clicking like it was a damn revolver and not a full auto weapon. I like the streams and her, but this is silly! I can't watch this, even using a spitfire as a revolver, why would you EVER shoot like everything is single shot, why!?
It’s her first time playing the game. Not everyone looks up guides/knows how to play something perfectly just by intuition. She’s doing way better than I did. My favourite part was where your only directive to your teammates during what was, without a doubt, the most traumatic Prime fight I've ever seen, aside from "stand up in the middle of them 4000 tines" was actually delivered AFTER the fight was over. 😐🤣🤣🤣
This is the best outcome. Good job!!! You can't save Legion, as Legion, but the way I see it he could certainly be rebuilt!?
Pretty sure they made an exception for him as a custom build.
Strange since it's mentioned several times that Geth are electronic beings with no bodies, and they are transferred into different machines as needed, so trooper bodies, space craft, toasters, whatever, then transferred back to the server.
I guess the Geth never mastered backups.
He’s not broken
All my homies hate them 😂
Yeah, this game doesn't pull punches. First Mordin, then Thane, and now Legion. And that's only the minimum amount of casualties- keep in mind any me2 squadmates could already be dead from the collector base.
Hahaha as soon as I uploaded the video to Taylor I KNEW the comment section was going to be abysmal 😂
At the start of that Reaper fight I thought, "I wonder how many times she'll die?" I counted 14. 😂 Sorry Basic. Luv ya, but I was laughing so much! Thank you for that.
I woulda loved to see her reaction to the bad ending😂
The lens flare is intense in this episode 😅 56:49
Some people didn't want to see Tali's face and preferred to keep her mysterious, but I think that's bullsh*t. I'm with you: we deserved a Tali reveal. It would have been absolutely epic and I'm still upset she didn't get to be the face of the Quarians -- especially considering that Shepard themselves has seen her face, and I mean... I'm Commander Shepard.
The target syncs faster while you're standing still.
If you liked Legion so much then there’s one choice in the end you wouldn’t like taking (unless you’re already at that point)
Sniper Girl in the house😂 picking asses off! 💪✌
In Shepherd’s lounge there’s liquor in the front and poker in the rear.
Just saying 🤣
If you want to feel like you've had your heart ripped out, watch what happens when you choose to upload the code without rallying or warning the Migrant Fleet. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Liz Sroka to voice that particular ending.
A Normandy poker night would be chaos, depending on the players. Maybe imagining how a game would go can be another future tier list for you. I. E. Who would count cards, who would constantly lose their shirt, etc.
I like how most target reaper's legs..
RIP Legion 🥲
I love watching people not understand how the targeting laser works.
I'm just gonna sign up for some second hand emotional damage please and thank you 😭 thanks for the episode basic, and thank you Taylor for making me laugh KEKW
One of my favourite missions in the 3rd game roller coaster of emotions. But still such great moment And killing the reaper is so satisfying.
When I play this part... The reaper fires 6 shots total
You need to get Kaidan a Typhoon
It was so simple in ME1....now I'm worried about whether the reapers have a soul....and can I get an upgrade for my box of tissues?
Catalyst: does these reapers have souls?
Shepard: Catalyst… the answer to your question was “yes.” *chooses synthesis*
Catalyst: thank you.
that was the first time Legion referred to himself as "I"
break my heart even more😭
I wouldn't worry too much about missing that Admiral Raan prompt, as it doesn't really impact the story. The consequences did play out already which means you missed out on a few extra war assets (which you are doing very well on anyways)
True! That was meant as more of an example though! I had SO MANY spoilery comments on other similar events, this was more a broad overview example!
Don’t worry about the distress call it doesn’t do anything
OMG! Legion’s lens flare. I guess they buffed that in MELE. 😬
Ranoch is one of the hardest boss battles! now imagine it in insanity
this mission alone has discouraged me from attempting insanity😂
😒
I guess In this case turning it off and back on again wasn’t enough.
RIP Legion. Keelah Se'lai 💜
He's gone to Silicon Heaven.

The only squadmate who’s death is fully inevitable
Somebody already commented on it but I can't find it now. Give two squad mates that can use assault rifles the Typhoon. It borders on cruel and unusual.
Who cares about a soul, I just want to know if I can charge him with a USB-C
😆
😂
I want Legion’s body to be in my cabin as a memento
I think you charge usb devices from legion. Sounds useful.
If the Quarians had known they could quickly charge their iPads by hanging them off a geth, they never would have started the war.
Why is your legion a literal flashlight head 😆. It's so bright 😶🌫️
He’s been watching a lot of Pixar! When he grows up we wants to be that lamp!
@@basicwitgirl "when he grows up" 💀
@basicwitgirl sabotage becomes less effective the more you do it on an enemy, particularly on higher level enemies. Then again, this should not be an issue from here on.
"Fun" fact, Tali can die in this mission in a horrible scene. This is where my 1st playthrough ended 🙃
What did you do wrong?
I did this in my full renegade playthrough. Omg, never again.
@@mtascp05 but then it’s not a full renegade playthrough as letting the geth die is the renegade option
@@axelnilsson5124 I rushed the main story, as I usually push my games to the point of no return before doing side content. So I couldn't pick the red/blue options, which then led to Tali unaliving herself and me restarting from ME1.
@@leamael00 you only need to restart ME2 to complete her and Legions loyalty missions, solve their argument with a speech check (which is easy as hell due to how late Legion’s recruited) and do both rannoch missions
I wonder who gave her the ammo tip, because of all the years I’ve played this game over and over, I’ve NEVER HEARD THE AI NEEDS THAT AMMO UPGRADE SINCE THEY DONT RUN OUT OF AMMO 🤣🤣🤣
Take Javik and James in some missions pls, they exist too hahaha
Hiya kiddo, did someone party hard last night ?, oh well ya only live once, so party on.
Basic you are not only in that boss battle you have run and roll back and forth
You got 80k get the n7 defender armor
If you romance Tali as male Shepard, you got to see her face in a picture in your quarters at the Normandy. They made a really low effort because they just photoshopped stock Google picture of some random girl.
About Dr Brison and Leviathan, best time is probably after 2 main missions more and Citadel DLC, but order at this point is not that important.
In the original picture it was a bad photoshop, yeah. But if I remember correctly, the Legendary Edition fixed it.
I don’t know how many people are in this camp but I’m a Talimancer who thinks it’s better if we don’t see her face
I have to say watching you fight those Primes was so aggravating!!! 😊
Tell me about it, how do you think I felt ACTUALLY being the one fighting them
I always romance tali
😀 BWG Shepard sporting the shiny red lips, 😄 that girls in Luv!💛👍
Keelah S'lai
Everyone has to go through the frustration of the reaper fight
i felt it for days afterwards.....😂
Oh! Before I forget -- one thing that drives me nuts about Priority: Rannoch --Legion's death, as noble and as hard-core as it was, felt unearned because we never really got a decent explanation of what happened. "Copying is insufficient. Shepard-Commander, I must go to them. I'm sorry."
Maybe I've had too much coffee today, but this feels like Legion died by network error.
Oh, also Legion had to die, because EA set a minimum number of companions who must die no matter what, and Legion was 'creepy.'
There is no reason he had to die.
Neat.
TLDR: they had a very neat and interesting story with the Geth in the first two games, but in the second they literally just ignored everything they did before (the new Geth writer literally didn't know anything and refused to look it up or play the prior games), and wrote some by the numbers trashy goober story instead, that is only good because of the incredible voice acting and presentation, that works hard to hid the writing rather than showcases it.
perhaps a spoiler - if you romance Tali, you can see her face in the photo on your cabin's desk.
She’s also talking/entertaining us while playing so she’s not just 100% locked in on the game. Also what’s wrong with using a gun you like? The point of video games is to have fun, and fun is different for everyone
lol you have to stop moving so damn much. your worried about the laser more than getting the shot
well hindsight is 20/20, but the laser one taps me sooo....my brain says it makes sense to worry about the laser 😂
It's okay. That reaper fight is BS no matter how good you are. The dodging is so silly and different from the rest of the game
Don't dodge just run lol🎉
How is it BS? You can literally sidestep it by sprinting a little to the side, you don't need to be even remotely "good" at the game lol
@@mb8132 I literally said "different from the rest of the game" - There's no cover. It tracks you in a weird way. You don't expect to have to do little tippy-taps side to side.
honestly the only hard to get thing is that if you stop moving the laser speeds up like 900%
The fight is super easy and quick if you just stop moving around constantly and only dodge when the beam comes near
what's with the fake crying, you don't even have tears
i mean, sobbing literally doesn't always equate to tears but pop off king
