I am able to last all day. I dont do any type of hard core texting or calling. I just use it when I get messages which is rarely. I try to isolate myself from social media. Turn off every single notification besides messaging and calling. Heart beat sender.. I turn it off for it won’t drain my battery. I honestly can use my watch throughout the day without the need of a phone. Cause all I do on it is use social media on the phone. I also turned off the rise to wake function and I only turn it on when I press on the crown button

@yes you got a great point.
@ I use Apple Pay throughout my day when I go to the store. I woke up for work and left the house with 100% at 7am and currently at 55% battery life. 6pm Rn.
@ I guess having a phone is necessary cause I do have to pay my monthly bill payments from discovery, Amazon, phone bill.
@ I am only able to check my balance on watch.
As far sending money to my family, Luckily they have Apple Pay where I can send them money through the Apple Watch.
little by little I’m adapting the Apple Watch LTE, it’s a big step just cause everyone is stuck on their phones constantly. I use my phone like Rn just to check this comment and see if I have to pay any payments.

I am no where as popular as you for how many messages you swapped, I wouldn’t use my watch for gps and since I carry the iPad mini all internet dependent actions would be done on the tablet. I got a Apple Watch se for Christmas recently. Not with carrier though. So it may be different. But as the regular se obviously you can use the watch close with your phone. It helps a lot in a way. Whenever I use the watch. I look at the emails I get sent. Sometimes I look at the weather which helps a lot to me. Also I send messages and use walkie-talkie instead of calling tbh but I tend to take calls on the watch. Specially when driving. It really helps on the small things. Specially if you try to make it a habit. I do have the wake when raised wrist thing but sometimes I move my arm and i notice the watch turns on every now and then. Not as much. But it does work when trying to check the time. I did do a few changes. Like when you get a notification. The notification for example. Like a message. It tells me by who and what app, but it doesn’t show me the message, mostly for privacy but it does show you the whole notification once you tap it. Which I like. I also set up reminders and alarms on them. I tend to use a little bit of each a good amount during the day and I also wear the watch to sleep for some random reason. The watch ends up lasting me for two days a good amount of the time

  • @creativepicnl

I'm so confused. I use my apple watch series 6 with always on display every day for almost a year now. The ONLY time I charge my watch is when I'm showering (so once a day) and I use my watch for everything. I pay with it, I do workouts and track them, I call people, I change my music on Spotify, answer messages and I sleep with it. So even with the watch tracking my sleep and being on the entire day I only charge it once while showering for almost a whole year and it never ran out of juice so far. Not even once.

I have to agree with your conclusion. A few features on the Series 7 such as answering the phone for brief interactions and using Apple Pay are more convenient on the watch than the phone. However, other features, like responding to messages on the watch are more of a burden than pleasure. You’re right, the two devices need to be used in tandem to make the watch truly useable. Sad to report that on a brand new device I have to pare down the watch face to mostly black numeral display, turn off Nightstand Mode and Background App refresh to make it through the day. Hopefully Apple will add a camera, more music options and a bigger battery in future iterations?

It is nice to see you replying to all comments, so let me give you some advice. Regarding the battery, there are some settings that can be turned off without ruining the real experience. I’ll list all these things below, but please, just try it one another day and give me a feedback (you can absolutely carry your iPhone turned off to turn it on for emergency or at least Bluetooth and wifi are completely off so the watch is independent).
-Turn off background refresh for the unneeded apps, like calculator.
-Turn off hand-washing, noise detection, and hey Siri (They make the microphone always on).
-And ofc AOD turning off will prolong it.
    For demonstration:
    -Clearly AOD off is ok.
-background refresh off for apps like calculator won’t make a practical difference.
-Noise detection, let’s be honest, nice to have but hmmm ok without it.
-Hey siri, could use rise to talk (less effective but more efficient).
-Hand washing, your video is very clean, so you are expected to be so:)
And oh yeah.. S6 chip is a little more efficient, so you can absolutely get a little bit of juice with it, maybe 2h more on cellular.

Well done, and interesting results, though I don't think anyone expected a different outcome. A LTE Apple Watch has it use cases but not meant to replace a iPhone for sure. Just like earlier iPhone's and in some cases phones in general, charging throughout the day was a normal thing. They didn't call iPhone users "wall huggers" for no reason! So in years to come, I could see a watch being better in lasting all day. And for some people that day may not come soon enough. However the Apple Watch is fantastic as a additional tool used with the iPhone, And makes tasks easier, without needing to get out your phone and look at it.

    • @funsizejacobs1426

I agree with you 100 percent. I'm mean maybe leaving your iphone in a locker when at the gym or running a quick errand like a store run while phone is in the car I can then see that being useful but for an all day thing not so much. I have the series 5 with LTE and my carrier is AT&T but I still carry my phone and wallet with me all the time. I think having an LTE apple watch is cool and all but like you said it's a great additional tool to have so having the wifi model would be best for most people.

I have a 38mm series 3 cellular and I love it, but the battery life on cellular isn't great - that being said I do listen to music (sometimes streamed on 3G/4G) and occasionally call on it. I don't use it on cellular loads, but it's just handy to have that option when I want to get away from my phone. I can still get the notifications and reminders I need, but I don't have the distraction of my phone. I'm hoping to upgrade to a series 6 soon! 🥰
Also: I recommend not messing around too much on the watch. I feel like it's kinda designed "not to be used" if you know what I mean. It's perfect for still getting the notifications you need and being able to make a call, but not being glued to a device all day. Sitting in a waiting room and going on the watch App Store to find something to do kinda defeats the point of itself lol.

always on display has to be off and also leave it open for 15 seconds instead of 70 after opening it.These 2 tips are enough to easily last for a day along with power reserve mode and lower brightness. You are abusing the watch by having everything on max and pressuring it to perform at its best. The watch DOES need a larger battery(1.5x current battery would be ideal) but its not as tragic as you mentioned ,plus you can juice it up fast asf with a big charger

The apple watch has almost all functions found on a smartphone. This is its biggest flaw. It's so enticing to use those same functionalities that will render the device useless by midday. I'm better off with a Huawei that lasts for 14 days on one charge or a Garmin with an 8-day battery life with smartwatch functionality (only) than this one-legged beast.

@@WertyTT4 Well Werty, that’s why you wouldn’t be the best for experimenting or trying new things. In your world we’d probably still be watching B&W 📺.

The crown placement is interesting. I did not even know you can wear it like that :D

Some right hand wearers do the same so they can use the crown on the left.

Great video! I love that you got 1.5m views! Is it true you only have 9 videos up? Do more, you're great at this. Problems; Why use the watch upside-down? I seem to go all day with my Series 3 without a big battery drain, hum. ...and church, lol
