    Enjoyed seeing your video on plien air set up. Its given me a few ideas to incorporate and might be able to incorporate i like how you adapted different upcycle pieces you already had to your needs...

    Hi Andy! I should have joined you on your painting holiday last year. Sadly cancelled because of COVID. It’s so lovely to see you and that wonderful landscape! I hope to be back in September . Mike, my hubby is in the garage making me your box as we speak! Thank you! 🙋‍♀️🎨

      Kay, that's great! I may be doing another painting holiday next May in the UK, but let's see how things go...! Hope your easel works out well!

      just a thought...I find that toilet roll breaks down too easy when wetted. Have you thought about cutting a roll of kitchen paper in half (using a hacksaw would work) ?

    Thanks so much for sharing! I’ve been looking to make my own that is this sleek and simple, and not $400! This sets me in the right direction!

    Thank you for sharing!! I cut kitchen towel roll in half with a saw, then it's a similar size but thicker! Much easier to pack or keep in a cramped studio area.

      Great idea. I was in lockdown and all I could find was toilet paper! Not the best!

    Always interesting to see other people’s setup - thanks. I too have a box based on Andy Beck’s excellent design. I sized mine to fit an A4 sketchbook or a 9x12” watercolour pad. Really works well! I made mine from plywood rather than Andy’s MDF. Stronger and lighter, and when stained with woodstain looks really nice too. You’re obviously more skilled with a jigsaw than I am - my tray slot and water cup hole aren’t nearly as neat as yours, but they work fine.

    Looks like a very neat set up. Think I'll be making myself one very soon. Excellent video. Thanks very much! (I saw the Andy Beck one too).

    Amazing idea, thanks a lot, I will make one too...regarding the kitchen roll, you could simply cut it in half with a cutter or a sharp knife to get a better wipe

      Yes, great idea. I was using some very thin toilet paper which is all we had at the time in lockdown, but 4 ply would be better!

    This looks exactly like Andy Beck’s! Nice design. I wish my husband would make me one. I need to get myself a tripod first. Is the Amazon basics one really any good or should I spend a little more money?

      Hi. I've been using the Amazon basics one for a couple of years no0w with no problems whatsoever. it is really light and folds away to a small size in its bag. I recommend it. 👍

    Thank you! Love your classes! Question, what brand of watercolour palette are you using? I've looked for a similar model but can't find one with that layout. Thanks!

    • @AndyWalkerArt
      @AndyWalkerArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a Liz Deakin palette available from Frank Herring in the UK. I've not seen it elsewhere but you can get it online there.

    Thanks for sharing! Which kind of wood(I guess) do you use to make the box? And how about the weight? Thanks

    • @AndyWalkerArt
      @AndyWalkerArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used sheets of 3mm mdf, and 1cm x 1cm pine battens, all glued together. Not sure about the weight but it is very light!
