Please can you explain how you got the cover off? I have the same seat as you, and I want to pull out the foam, but I can't figure out how to get the cover off. It feels like it is glued down around all the edges - and there is literally no information online on how it's done. You have the closest video, but you're missing the most important part. :(

Hey Ben, the seat cushion I had replaced it with was the same color and in better condition. I just swapped out cushion after removing the seat. I did not reupholster the cushion.
have re-upholstered the driver side bolster surround on this car and several other seat bottoms on different cars. Usually the cover is held to the cushion using "hog rings." These can be cut off with wire cutter pliers and replaced with zip-ties. Take a look, go slow, and don't give up!

I do appreciate the attempt, but you skip over the actual procedure for recovering the bottom cushion. I think you should let people know before they begin that the bottom seat is a full on advanced automotive upholstery procedure. This way, they can make the decision of they want to attempt this on their own or take it to a shop. I think a lot of people would remove their seats, get this torn apart then not be able to do this and have a real mess on their hands.

Hi Michael, I can add a disclaimer in description in hopes to help others avoid your frustrations. Thanks for the feedback. I don't make a cent off my videos. My intent is to help out others and I am sorry if that wasn't the case for you in this instance

@@gearswitch5692 thanks for that response. I’m actually a professional installer I was seeing if anyone had made videos on recovering Porsche seats with these horrible Lseats and ran across yours. I just felt that people might get very upset and frustrated if they tear their seats apart and didn’t have the proper skills or equipment to do the job.

I had to remove the seats as well to replace the stupid seat buckles and just ended up cutting and rewiring all the cables...that big black harness was a BITCH...LOL

Where are you sourcing the covers themselves?

I had good luck finding used seat covers on eBay.

Please change the title. You didn't show changing the cushion at all. Just seat removal from car. 😥
And, that's COVER for the cushion, not the cushion.

Erol, I replaced the whole cushion assembly, not just the cover. Trust me, if you are handy enough to be looking to take this project on, you can figure out how to swap the cushion after the 4:15 mark. Although I did it off camera, it was so easy that I didn't think it was worth filming. I would rather keep the videos short and show the most complicated parts, but I will consider your feedback when making future videos- thank you!

@@gearswitch5692 Practically speaking, why would one put in a video title something done "off camera"? 😀
