The Boxtster red interior with the hardtop is a winning combo! Drivers are the best ones to own.
Yes totally agree 😎
Normal Porsche motor will still last you at least another 100k miles if not more. Awesome car you bought there!
That's the plan!
How many miles do they usually last? Can they touch 300k ?
I will try to find out 👍
@@KalleSWBeck On the other hand the Porsche Motor of my grandfather only took him about 40 miles. In the Ardennes before he bumped into Americans and somehow only came home 4 years later. Must have been the oil change or something
All cars have failures
Some are luckier than others
So far only two comments acknowledged the wife’s kind gesture to support her husband’s hobby by buying him a P car, can’t remember hearing any thanks to such a wonderful woman. Can you do a video of thank you to your wife, please?
Very thankful!
Congratulations!!! Fellow 986S owner. I've been meaning to prep mine for sale since getting a 996, but I can't get myself to do it. The wail at 6k rpm beats even the 911, IMO. pure driving machine. Enjoy!
Thanks! I am sure I will feel the same as well
What a great find! Hard top and Speedster humps included! Those items alone are more than half of the value of the selling price. Excellent maintenance by a loving owner. May he rest in peace. You got a great buy!!!
Thank you!
My first Porsche was also a Boxster (not an S) and my wife also bought me mine, a 2007 (which I got last year) with a stick and 99,500K on the clock. It is a great car! It’s had 5 owners, all who have taken care of it and it’s never lived outdoors. I’ll tell you how much I love it. Earlier this year my wife bought me a second Porsche, a Carrera C2S that I got to spec. It’s a dream come true and I also love it. However, the Boxster isn’t going anywhere! It’s practically just as fun and in some ways maybe even better. For one, I’m not afraid to leave it in a parking lot although I do try to carefully park it. Here’s my point, the Boxster isn’t the lowly stepchild that some like to believe it is. Nope. It’s a real Porsche and it’s made like one and it drives like one. Even though I’m so lucky to have both, I don’t think my new one is tons better than the Boxster. The Boxster is a great machine and it’s really fun to drive! Cheers to you on yours! And the red interior is so cool!
Thank you I really can’t see how it could be much better. Congrats on marrying well also :)
Yes we did merry well. We just celebrated 20 years in June. Congrats again!
Cool! I was wondering the story behind this when I saw it on your insta. Enjoy it 🙂
Just watched it all, you have some work to do but that's special car not least because of the way it was loved. The fact it's a manual is perfect, little details like the umbrella and logging of fuelling. The speedster humps. $63k in 2000, that's a $115.000 car in today's money. Awesome.
Thanks Matt
Brakes and a tune up and I’ll be driving up and down the coast 😎
Congratulations welcome to the 986 club, they are fantastic so much fun, a classic. What an awesome wife you have, lucky man. Can't wait to follow your journey with your new toy, it will challenge you like anything worthwhile does but ti will bring you much joy. Have fun my friend.
Thank you!
That noise you are hearing from the engine may be your water pump. All of the extras - litronics, hard top, speedster humps and umbrella are cool. The rear lights are from a 2003 or 2004 car. The previous owner must have disliked the "amber" in the taillights. He also changed the side markers in the front. This was a great buy.
Would it be a sign it’s going out? I’ll keep an eye on it, yes sidemarkers are clear and no egg yolk in the headlights is gone as well
Your wife is a keeper there! You must be treating her well! In the hunt for a boxster s. They take a step up in price at 2003. Think they went to 3 timing chain from 5, but not sure its worth the extra money.
Thank you! I know 2003 got the face lift/ update and got things like cup holders. Front grill is a bit different, etc I was never looking for a boxster is the funny thing but am very happy with this one.
Hard top, duel humps and S model nice score
Thank you!
Any record of ims bearings!? Amazing! Should do a video adding up all maintenance items besides oil and gas!?
No record of IMS or clutch! I’ve checked so many times
Good idea on the video
Jeez, what did you do to her to deserve that kind of treatment? Just kidding. We got a 2009 Boxster S last year, and in dark corners when nobody is listening, I whisper about how it’s more fun to drive than my 911. They are a great platform.
Bought Taylor Swift Tickets probably
Congratulations bro
Thanks!
Those 18 inch turbo twist Wheels can be worth 5,000 alone. You may have hit the jackpot, if you reach behind them and feel the backside of the spoke and it is totally smooth with no ridges or valleys they are worth 5,000 alone.. if there is a ridge on the back side kind of like two valleys they are the standard Wheels.
They are original turbo twist wheels. They are on the options list. No ridges,
The seller sold it to my wife because she was the first person that didn’t want to part it out
Okay so you have the hollow Wheels those are worth 5,000 alone... Which up the value of your vehicle congratulations!!
How's the ol 986 holding up?
Are you enjoying the drive?
Any maintenance youve had to do?
Yes everything is good! I’ll make an update video soon after a year of ownership :)
Way to go! Enjoy!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Welcome to the club...😎
Thank you
What a great car man congrats!!
Thank you! Almost done with the work on it to enjoy this summer
@@KalleSWBeck nice! What all are you doing to it?
Just catching up on basic maintenance roots and pads, neededed idler pulleys, tune up, etc and cleaning it up. Will have an update video soon
2001 boxster, fun driving car. 👍
It’s a blast!
Been waiting for this one.
Thanks, been sick and kid finally went back to school
@@KalleSWBeck Dadlife for sure lol
First thing I bought was the hardware that deactivates the passenger airbag so it can haul a kid 😂
Great car ! I’m looking for the same car for myself
Thanks! Good luck in your search
Welcome to the P-Car World! You my friend need a relationship with our friends at FCP Euro... Take care of it and it'll take care of you!
Thanks! All parts are ordered now to get it done next week
Congrats! Welcome to Porsche ownership. Dude, that umbrella is RARE! And expensive! Enjoy.
Thank you!
good wife.
Indeed!
Cool video mate. I love the red interior. I have a few of these. Check mine out.
Will do!
Thanks
BEEEAUUUUUUUTIFUL 👍🏾
Thanks!
@@KalleSWBeck I might not be in the position to realize my "dream car", but I certainly can celebrate when someone else gets the opportunity. 😁👍🏾
I appreciate that. I’ve worked pretty hard for this 5k car 😎
@@KalleSWBeck 😁👊🏾
You lucky to get this with a hardtop
Yup! And speedster humps
@@KalleSWBeck how much did it cost? The car
5k
@KalleSWBeck extremely good
Needs some work still but very happy with it
Why do you have a gay pride flag?
My mini horse is gay
Step one to ownership is learning how to pronounce Porsche. It’s a 2-syllable name! Porsch-a.
Porch e
Porsche-ah
Porsche-uh
Now if you can learn to say porsche correctly....
It took me a few weeks but now I can
Thank you!
Since none of us Germans ever tried to say Excel or SQL correctly I think he is ok
The Porsche was a surprise gift so I wasn’t ready for it :) I am now
