I reckon a pre-2022 F1 car would be better, less reliant on underbody downforce.
You are right!! I was using maximum ride height, sacrificing a lot of downforce

Honestly Monaco is the circuit that wrc cars would probably be the closest. It would be neat for the Monte Carlo rally to use some of the Monaco gp track for a stage.
That's why I chose it :)
They did use the old Formula E course in 2007 and 2008
It would be good for a SSS (Super Special Stage)
I have to say this is a very fascinating experiment you did here! I have seen open-wheeled race cars take on Hillclimb events, as well as Red Bull doing an off-road PR stuff with their F1 cars. But to see a comparison between how an F1 car and a WRC rally car handle the gravel, snow, tarmac and a race track is definitely interesting to watch.

I love it too! But honestly, I think the rally car, could be stretched more. The difference on tarmac/Monaco would probably be negligible, but would separate F1 on snow/dirt even more
The F1 car was much closer to the WRC car than I expected on all surfaces. I fully expected a huge gap between the F1 car and the WRC car on gravel and snow. I expected the F1 car to win on tarmac and at the circuit, but not by as much as it did. Interesting video

whats impressive is that the f1 driver can even finish the gravel circuit. irl, dirt building up on the driver's visor should make it impossible to see
Also irl the suspension couldn't handle the rough bumps, as well as the tires, even if wets, would barely have any traction on a dirt stage.
@@woutvandesompele8310 well it might have traction if it corners at 10 mph and the team would have to do something about the suspension.
this model physics of the f1 is ridicoulous.. cannot do more than 100 metres on gravel imho...

Could you do a tutorial on how to make tires for Assetto Corsa? I've done some super basic edits in the past but it was mostly trial and error, copying the data from one car's tires and pasting it into another, changing the dimensions and positioning to get it working but that's about it.. I also tried using the Content Manager utility but I can't quite get it to work right.
I'm thinking of doing a secondary channel with these kind of tutorials: physics editing, BoP guides, best apps, settings...

Ah yes. 4 surfaces. Grass grass open road tarmac and Monaco streets. The way assetto handles rally was always a little bit jank tbh.

It's decent, got better with extended physics and highter quality modding. You can surely have fun, but compared to RBR or DR2 you feel something is missing.

I’d say the Mercedes Streamliner would be an alright rally car for it’s time.
something is fishy about the first 2 times because the f1 felt way slower than just 2 seconds behind
realistically who has the neck muscles to go rallying in a f1 car, I feel like that would be the limiting factor
I think the limiting factor would be loose surfaces smashing the car to bits once you exceed about 30 mph.
That or the car getting beached - id like to see an f1 car take on rally Kenya 😂😂

In gravel the F1 is 2 seconds slower than the WRC.
In snow it's 0.2 seconds slower.

don't be fooled it's just a simulation, real life would be really different...
They’re basically the same cars in terms of stats, they have fast acceleration, good turning, and very good brakes, it’s just one is faster and better on road and one is cheaper and can go on rough surfaces.
Irl the F1 is too low and would beach itself on any mild humps or mud... sorry but this is a very unrealistic comparison lol.
Also these low speeds irl would barely make any meaningful use of that aero...

Non sense. Gravel - F1 car would be smashed to pieces after 500m, Snow - F1 car would spin it tires and get stuck at the stage start. Overall F1 car is good only @ circuit.

I think F1 is worse, precisely because of its length. WRC cars are also short, so they are manoeuvrable and do not sit up easily.
I keep seeing comments saying rally is off road. Like no bruh that’s its own thing. Rally in on small roads
