I was at this game. So many people left after fresno threw a pick in the endzone with 4 minutes left down by 11. So when fresno came back and won, the people that were still there went crazy. It was a really cool thing to see in person.
It always annoys me when people leave before the end of the game. You paid for the tickets, just stay and support your team. Especially in a matchup that's so evenly paired between the two teams.
Been a ucla fan for 25 years now I was at that game that loss was heartbreaking but I remember thinking that Fresno state qb has a chance to be really special looked like a nfl talent glad to see he’s still balling out

That might be the most effective onside kick I have seen in 38 years of watching football. The way it bounced off the SDSU guy and traveled so far down the field perfectly to a player on the kicking team all while staying inbounds to get that field position was unreal.
Some context for this: JH has been gone since week 3, so FSU has been atrocious since his injury. This was his first game back. The bulldogs were getting annihilated all game, not capitalizing on possessions, interceptions, a field goal before the comeback started was blocked, poor defense. Fans had been leaving the stadium and it was essentially empty. They went from losing to UConn (!!!) to now being first in the division. Thanks for the upload. Go dogs!

As an Aztec for nearly 40 years, this was the most painful loss Ive ever experienced. They looked awesome for 3 quarters then went into a coma. The coaching staff went conservative on both offense and defense. They are responsible for this loss.
Reminds me of the Utah vs BYU game in Nov 2010. BYU was up 13-0 going into the 4th. Utah was terrible all game, Utah came back in the 4th to take the lead 14-13, BYU scored another field goal, Utah answered with 1 more field goal and the very last play was Utah winning by blocking the last BYU field goal final 17-16. It was a very wild and emotional game.

I was at this game after the blocked field goal we almost left because it seemed like nothing was going right for the Bulldogs. We decided to stay, thank god best ending to a game I have ever seen. Unbelievable! The people that did leave were kicking themselves
Imagine a game that one team played for about 30-40 minutes and then decided that they did not want to win. They tried SO hard to give the game to their opponent but their opponent said "no thanks" did not want to take it and this little game continued back and forth until the final minute until the team trying to be handed the win says "You know what...fuck it, we will take this shit" and proceed on to score 2 touchdowns in 13 seconds and the other team says "thank you" and closes the deal by throwing the game sealing interception on the very next play. YES, it was THAT kind of FUCKING game.!

Was San Diego in some kind of loose quarters prevent defense? Maybe the backside corner was isolated? But damn bro! All prevent defenses seem to do is prevent the defense from winning the game. If it’s such a great coverage then why not do it THE WHOLE GAME??? To me prevent is just playing scared. Route combinations become simpler and more effective because the other team already knows the coverage!
The commentators in this game were a vast improvement over the ones in the last Fresno clip I watched. Had they been the same ones here, I wouldn’t have been able to stick this one through.

Why didn't SDSt use their timeouts when Fresno took back possession? Kneel, TO, Kneel, TO, Kneel, 40 seconds, punt, you've got one shot, which is more than just giving up.
There were 44 seconds when Fresno State got the ball back and SDSU had two timeouts left. That's not enough time if the bulldogs are able to waste four seconds and use the whole play clock. Jake Haener pretended to take a knee on first down, but the refs got ahead of themselves and called him down. Fresno realized that SDSU wasn't calling a timeout and took a knee on 2nd with 26 seconds left and plenty of play clock on the board. That was a mistake. SDSU could have used their two remaining timeouts at that point and gotten the ball back with about ten seconds left. Not much, but you're right, you gotta take what you can get! It seems to me that they felt pretty defeated. Go dogs!

Not enough time. Each play would run about 2 seconds off the clock before time out can be called. Since there was 44 seconds left after the int, they would be at 40 seconds after a third down knee. Even if it came down that close. All they would have to do is snap the ball on 4th, run back a few yards and take a last knee to get to end of the game

I just rewatched the broadcast and I am not sure if the clocks on the screen were correct. FS took a knee with 40 seconds left at the end of the first down, then the 40 second play clock was up but the game clock on the screen stopped for 14 seconds. There was a 14 second difference so maybe that’s why we are over analyzing it when, in fact, the game was over when they took the second knee?
