    You dont have to be a fan of auburn. This just makes you enjoy being a fan of football. Its a moment that happened where one would say "could only be scripted in movies" or simply dreamt of and yet it became a reality. Gives me chills every single time

    What doesn’t get enough appreciation here is how Verne and Gary just let the moment breathe after Davis scores. For over a minute there’s no commentary, just the sights, sounds, and faces of disbelief in the stadium. Kudos to them, because many announcers would just throw in their two cents and talk over it all.

He had big guys out there to protect the field goal attempt. He thought it was going to be the last play of the fourth quarter so even if his team missed the kick it would be a safe call. I’m an Auburn fan, and this was the greatest moment I’ve seen so far. It was amazing. I remember going to school the following Monday and all the Alabama fan kids were all pissed off and sour! “He stepped out of bounds! Watch this video!” And showing everyone this video of the run that someone had edited/photoshopped to show the receiver had clearly stepped out of bounds. Making every excuse in the world. It was a great day to be an auburn fan.

With family for thanksgiving this. Everyone around watching this together. I was running around the house screaming. I also liked auburn as well as I was a huge fan of cam newton when he played for them and in the NFL. Probably my favorite sport moment in history. Even more so than the game winning drive against auburn for the title that year.

    I just stumbled on this today. It's fun to watch and listen again to the broadcasters, two of the best in the business, talking about the play. They were stressing that nobody thought of a run back possibility, but I honestly did. When 'Bama decided to go for the field goal I said to my wife, who just happened to be in the room, "Auburn can win this on a run back." And it happened. One of those truly great moments to relive. Thanks for featuring it.

I watched the play, and he came back. I just said "Auburn scored the winning touchdown", thinking this happened in almost every game of football. He said "What?" about forty times. He then watched the replay and the gape of his mouth had to be at least three feet open.

      definitely too much. not even close to the best game ever. the stakes weren't nearly high enough. a shot at a chance to go to a bowl game? meh...

    • @Potential94
      @Potential94 10 ปีที่แล้ว +98

      droidean Stakes weren't nearly as high? Dude, the winner would've gone on to the SEC and BCS title games. The winner of the Iron Bowl for the past 4 years has gone to the NC game. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

    • @droidean
      @droidean 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ***** Actually, the only thing the winner of this game was entitled to was a bid to the SEC conference championship game, nothing more. Still has to play a good Missouri team for the automatic bid to a BCS bowl game. The previous winners of Iron Bowls to Natty games is irrelevant, logically speaking. Nice try, though.

    • @droidean
      @droidean 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The 06 National Championship/Rose Bowl was more entertaining than this game and had much higher stakes, and that is just a game within the last 10 years; let alone all-time.

    • @Potential94
      @Potential94 10 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      droidean Missouri was no challenge, so the SEC was a guaranteed title. The 06 NC doesn't even compare to what the Iron bowl has produced in the past few years. The Iron bowl is never irrelevant, it's the greatest rivalry in college football and one of the best in all of sports.
