They did that once (that I can remember) in the early issues of sonic Archie comics, and once (at least in the adventures of sonic the hedgehog. It may have also been in the Satam-- oh, wait that time in Satam that I'm thinking is a where a wizard takes his speed away
My opinion on this game:
It exists.

I actualy used to play this game in my early childhood, strarting from when I was at the age of 4. I liked it.
I'm not sure when did I stopped playing it but I remember I never got past 3-2. Maybe I shold come back to it.
Anyway, I'm glad to see that someone's willing to give it a fair chance instead of turning it down right away.

This is a lot similar to my feelings on Sonic Battle. I genuinely think it's great despite it not being a traditional Sonic game.

Yeah especially the battles that feel like they just go on forever. Like "Oh no! You've beaten me! Let's have another battle where there's twice as many lives and 1 normal attack takes 3/4th of your health!"
They're both slow games that made some bad decisions. Battle just has the benefit of being a story based game on a better console.

Battle had some of the best writing in the entire series outside of Sonic Adventure 2. I’ll die on this hill.

i use my cfw 3ds for piracy and emulating pirated games and that's about it

If this game starred completely new characters as opposed to Sonic and Robotnik, then I bet it would’ve gone down in history as a decent puzzle title for the Game Gear.

Honestly this game seems like it would be really fun to speedrun, I love games that have unique movement like this.

Valid. Nothing has any intrinsic value except what we assign to it, so if you enjoyed it then that’s all that matters. Sonic Chronicles might be one of the least fun games I’ve ever played in my entire life but I‘ll still defend it on the basis of appreciating the Codex, and even though 06 was a buggy, half-baked mess I think it had some cool ideas. It was ambitious, but nobody can argue that it was deeply flawed; equally, I think with a little more time in the oven it could’ve been just as good as Unleashed, if not better.
I agree. More time and it could have been great. Thst's why P06 on PC is so much fun to play. They're taking what could of been and making it a reality.

My favorite sonic game is Sonic 1 1990 prototype, sonic 3 prototype and the sonic 1 beta remake!
If you read the origin story in the "sonic bible" from the early 90s Dr Ivo robotnik was a good guy scientist living on mobius, he made sonic (an already abnormaly fast hedgehog) his speedy shoes, sonic accidently destroys robotniks labs whilst he is running tests on a chaos emerald. The explosion turns sonic blue and robotnic evil.
So the whole loosing his shoes thing does make sense of you take that version of sonics origin into account.
Spin dashing is genuinely fun in this game. The game somehow got this reputation for being "the one where Sonic is slow" when the spin dash is right there.

Sonic Generations is my favourite game in the series and my favourite game of all time. It was my first sonic game and I have so many fond memories of playing it. I prefer how Unleashed plays in the daytime stages but I prefer Generations overall.

Also, I played Sonic Labyrinth as kid on Sonic Mega Collection +, and I liked it. Probably an unpopular opinion, but imo it would be just straight-up good if Sonic controlled well - he wouldn't even need to go fast for it to be good, he would just need to feel more responsive.
I found out about this game by playing it on Sonic Mega Collection Plus as a kid, so I always thought the timer was there because Eggman had bombs that would blow up the levels and that Sonic only went slowly because he felt that sorry for Eggman.
This is a pretty greatly produced video, especially considering how young you sound.

My favourite sonic game is LEGO DIMENSIONS SONIC LEVEL PACK.
No it's not a joke i think the game is really smooth and the moveset is spectacular and really similar to the sonic adventure's moveset and level design is incredible with a lot of references. I LOVE IT.
Without playing it, it looks like removing/adding to the timer and making sonic a little faster would make sonic labyrinth a lot more fun

I tried playing this game and I just couldn't get past the first boss so I gave up.
But this game also implies that Eggman was able to find Sonic's resting place and wasn't fed up enough with him to actually try to kill him, which combined with the Sonic 1 manual implying Sonic had already thwarted Eggman's plans at least more than once before the events of original game and basically no other game fitting before Sonic 1 timeline-wise, means this was like, Sonic's first battle against Eggman after they met. I hate how much sense that makes to me.
the difference between this and nuts and bolts is that this was a spinoff and not the direction the franchise seems to be planning to take for the remainder of its run, same with sticker star

i grew up with this and sonic 3d blast (i used emulators and sonics ultimate genesis collection)
In the original game gear version the speed power up makes the background rapidly flash multiple colors. This was removed in the 3DS port.

My only problem with this video is the “shimmering” from uneven pixels. I think with virtual console on the 3ds, you can hold select on startup to keep the correct resolution, without stretching it
