His real first name is Billy. (william) he is an amazing rock star. they used to ban at high school dances this version of the song by billy idol because kids started chanting the lude lyrics in between the beginning verses (get laid ; get F****) billy does sing those sometimes!! i got to hear him do that 2 years ago. girl you got to do more of his stuff. this is a cover song, his biggest hit he made was Rebel yell then eyes without a face, white wedding; dancing with myself, hot in the city, to be a lover , cradle of love and flesh for fantasy! his music has been in alot of movies and tv commercials. on the American horror story camp crystal lake; billy lourd does a great scene with the midnight aerobics and she is playing rebel yell! and the bad guy comes in and it's great and he plays flesh for fantasy in the next scene and in another epi blue highway (in the story line billy was supposed to play at the camp) if you can do more of his stuff!. he was our 80's Elvis!! also if you get the chance listen to his influences. he has newer albums out too.

Mony Mony was originally released by Tommy James and Shondells in 1968. It reached #1 in the UK. Billy Idol’s cover is mostly true to the original 1968 recording.

Great song Billy has a good voice. Dig it, also a few other of his songs. Actually this was a cover. Originally done by Tommy James and the Shondells in 68. I prefer the original tho Billy did a good job. I suggest you check out the original u won't be disappointed

Not a fan of remakes myself - but this one - a favorite
So I have only realized that it's a Canadian thing ... thought everyone did it to this song. But in the no lyric spaces in the music the crowd sings "hey everybody get laid get f*!#ed now". Apparently it started with an impromptu chant by Billy Idol during a performance of the song. Definitely a crowd pleaser in Canadian bars, campuses and any other type of revelry.
That wasn't just a Canadian thing. It was shouted at sporting events, parties, bars, and clubs everywhere the song was played. It was banned in schools.
We were definitely doing this in California in the 80s, and when we partied down in the bars in Ensenada, Mexico. I think it was pretty universal. Great times!!

Idol always tried to channel a little Elvis Pressley in his performances. This was a great cover of a great 1960s song, bringing modern energy to the original.
