It's been tested by multiple shops and individuals and the M2 makes the same power on a dyno as the M3/M4. The competitions make more but base M3/4 and base M2 actually make the same regardless of what BMW claims. They also make at the wheel what BMW claims it makes at the crank (roughly 473). I'm planning on selling my RS3 for a used M2 or M4 but still torn between them tbh. The 550awhp and 5cyl soundtrack will be missed
I feel like it would only be fair to compare the 2023+ RS3 (8Y) to the M2. I would say they are dead even in terms of technology. In luxuray the RS3 is probably just a litttleeeee better. In terms of driving experience and fun the M2 is an upgrade. If ur comparing the Pre-2023 RS3 (8v) than yeah the M2 is in upgrade all across the board IMO.@@6820berlin
Several times I raced my 2023 M2 manual against my brothers 2023 M4 manual on a roll at 30mph and 40 mph, and honestly depending on who had a quicker reaction at the start of the race, they both were equally fast. It was fun as hell, and both are truly proper sports cars.
I am another fellow M4 Comp owner. Hard to say if the M4 is worth $25k more, but low mile used for a bit less $$ may be worth it for the xdrive and additional OEM power. The main thing I like about the M2 over the M4 is the smaller size. Other than that I prefer the M4, but that's all subjective of course. I do think the G80 M3 comp xdrive may be worth the extra $25k however. I don't think the manual M4 is worth the additional $$ over a manual M2.
The only reason to get the m3/m4 over the m2 is if you want/need the AWD. As a former g80 xdrive owner and current g87 owner, the g87 has more hp than advertised. I really can't tell the difference between the 2 in terms of speed and handling, except when launching off the line, the xdrive is obviously faster.
M2 is better looking to me, agree the quality of the leather is better in all BMW models 4/5 series up; wish there was optional in 2/3 series. Overall, only reason to spend additional money is if you have a bigger family and need the space
The g87 m2 is definitely the best bang for the buck. The claimed power difference won't even be felt (To most people) in the M2 because the difference in HP is felt in the higher RPMs. M2 also drives better due to the shorter length. Just can't justify spending the 25k more for an m4.
It’s the same car sharing all the same under parts and specs, the M2 has a shorter wheelbase which handles better so makes it the better car. It’s all personal preference on looks at that point. The M2 also holds value better as the most wanted M car since it was launched. Only the M4 comp would be a different car since it’s xDrive. The power gains are marginal though.
According to Dragy data on the leaderboards for the M4 comp and m2 is about a second faster 100-200km and 60-130 for the x-drive and 1.4 sec faster for the rwd m4.

Thanks for sharing! It definitely feels quicker than 450hp

I’m considering rs3 and m2, do you as a rs3 owner consider the m2 an upgrade on a rs3 ?

Suprise suprise bmw understating power. Theyve been doing it from the very beginning

Both are dream cars where the M4 looks amazingly barbaric in the front and the rear the M2 looks skillfully engineered.
I love the m2 tail lights. Check out r44 performance bagged m2 they just uploaded. I think u should go for that look. Fn amazing
good video bro, g87 is my future
If you planning on tuning this car the xdrive on the m4 is worth all the money for sure , all the cars doing 60 to 130 below 6 seconds 95% awd
True. It’s nice having the extra grip. However, I think if you have good tires, rwd will be able to grip at 60 and do a good 60-130 time
Nice to see Lando Norris reviewing beemers
82k-97k for a car, really rich people. Monthly payments must to go over 1500+
My prediction is M4 will take M2 both from a dig and roll, lol. (High speed roll will be pretty close though).

@@JVette01 Can you please post the video tomorrow, lol?
It will be posted on the 30th!
M4 Made in Germany... M2 Made in Mexico... both loks yaks! Mercedes loks better on c63s
Get 7 or 8 cars and the hit. 😂
I’ll need it 😭
No drag race!? Lame
It’s on my channel… lol
@@JVette01 Just watched it. My bad 👍🏻
