I've noticed that the outgoing Trains divert to the Right ''Passing'' Line while the incoming ones divert to the Right line as well.. So thats part of the design so there is no need for Manual Points Switching at every set of Points on the Line.. I have seen this system on Narrow Gauge lines in Wales and it has to be on a single line system..It is very clever.. Great Fun riding this line at what appears High Speed..

Great video! I enjoyed the other one as well which started in Liestal. I didn’t realize until this video that I actually passed a short section of this route when I took a SBB train in 2014 from Basel to Cadenazzo (Ticino). I had a neighbor here in Brooklyn, NY who owned a home in San Nazzaro. He visited his native Switzerland a couple of times every year (originally from Gstaad) and invited my mom and me to stay with him for a few nights. We visited our relatives near Frankfurt, Germany before we visited him. Sadly, he passed away last year.
I'd love to go to Solvakia to see the old trains but think I might just end up in Slovakia instead. I am happy to solve your typo. Wonderful video as always. Smiles to you all.
Great video! Good to see this line before it changed. I passed one of the new trams on my way back to Basel back in the Summer. I understand some of the trains have been sold to Slovakia?
Yes, I think all of them were. They've had problems with the new ones including one or two derailments. On a number of occasions they had to run a bus replacement service.
I always enjoy watching these well made videos on Switzerland’s railways. They make me feel as if I am on the train and experiencing the wonderful countryside. ❤️😃

Beautiful scenes. I love to see trains street-running along with cars, rather than on their usual right of way. We can't do that in New York City, it's too dangerous. Switzerland is so beautiful! 😍
In anderen Ländern kaum vorstellbar.
Extremely interesting video. I can understand why this line is being converted to metre guage; it will be compatible with other BLT lines, and rollling stock will be cheaper to acquire. However, the proposal to convert this totally unfenced line to automated driverless operation is crazy. Would you want to live (or work) in a building which had driverless tram-trains speeding past your door?

Also the spring loaded points that you mentioned, do you have any idea if this is the same system used for the Zurich tram network? Because a few times from behind the driver's cab I noticed that the points were set incorrectly while merging and I got quite scared that we would derail or something. This was 10 years ago on my first trip to Switzerland. After that I got used to it, haha! Thank you for this wonderful ride :)
