@@edd_TV i don't think its fair to say she has no passion, her voice actress was very excited to voice ada and understood her as well. its ok to not like the performance, but there was effort. and adas voice was recast for good reason from 2r as well
@@ro8213 It just didn’t translate very well at all. Maybe it’s because she was just poorly written. Her first encounter with Leon in the remake is so bad. I don’t doubt she was excited for the role, but it was pretty flat
@@ChiefMedicPururu I think the only way we can get another version of RE1 is if they completely change it; similarly to how they have done Final Fantasy 7 Remake. They could give us new/altered storylines, completely different gameplay etc. It would have to be a reimagining of RE1 because the Remake still holds up really well!
@@ChiefMedicPururu coming from someone who deeply enjoys the RE1 remake from GameCube, it definitely is needed. All of the new players that have come into the franchise since the RE engine remakes have dropped are not going to play that game. A modern remake in the RE engine is what is needed, giving us a concise true ending to the mansion.
My personal choice would be Code Veronica as that was my guilty pleasure in the franchise. Plus I am interested in seeing how they handle Alfred Ashford and if they can make Steve less annoying
I don't think there's any chance of that Claire insult flying in 2024 onwards! But I agree. Whilst this video is about Wesker, Alfred is such an interesting talking point for CV! I think given Carlos' transformation in RE3's Remake, Steve could definitely get a glow up! Fingers crossed!
CV is the most important, for sure. I'd be quite happy to go CV into 5 and then back to RE1. I really want RE1 but in terms of bridging Wesker and building hype for the RE5 Remake, it has to be CV!
@@edd_TV Right now CV, and zero are in development. Both will be launched in a very short Succession. This was leaked by twitters and insiders and also confirmed by capcom. And RE 9 is also in dev, but will come in a later date.
@@viniciustorres3318 Yeah we'll have to wait and see. Another remake could potentially be a reimagining and they could alter a few things in this new timeline if they wanted; similarly to how the Final Fantasy 7 remake has happened. I'm not very hopeful they will do it any time soon, but I'd love to see it! Fingers crossed.
Tbf it's good that RE4 remake can leave people questioning themselves about who is Wesker. That will only make them dig deeper into the franchise, which is a good thing!
My personal choice is RE1. I still would love to see it in the RE Engine, make it really scary! And of course.... RE0. Gotta give my girl Rebecca more love :D
RE2 Remake scared the crap out of me at times, so it would be amazing to see what they could do with RE1. Maybe some fun opportunities for a DLC too? I hope you will get your wish for RE0 in time too. Rebecca definitely deserves to shine in the remakes, the most underrated character!
Albert Wesker in the 2023 remake of “Resident Evil 4” sounds intimidating. I hope Burnatowski reprises his role as Wesker in remakes of “Resident Evil 0”, “Resident Evil 1”, “Resident Evil: Code Veronica” and “Resident Evil 5”.
I think there is potential there. I don't want them to recast him or anything. It's more the model that bothers me I think. He definitely comes across more 'real' and sinister than the RE5's comic book villain style of Wesker many know and love. It's possible they will keep him, but they did recast Ada's voice actor, so I'm not sure. We'll have to wait and see!
Agreed, it would be so weird to go straight into 5. I kinda wish they did CV before 4, but 4 is regarded as the 'best' for a lot of people so I get it. Fingers crossed CV is next!
Everything started in RE0 & 1 for Wesker and from what I remember, he worked in the shadows against Umbrella with Birkin as his accomplice on the inside. A remake of those two games could expand on that and maybe more (like the virus that turned Wesker into the superhuman he became).
Exactly this. Re5 brought in so many people unfamiliar with the franchise by appealing to what was popular gaming at the time. I get yes there will be people who don't know who he is but I feel like it's going to be such a small amount of people that it won't be a problem. But I'm hoping for a cv remake next anyway.
I've been saying this exact same thing. They need to build up the Redfield/Wesker story before remaking 5 and finishing their story. Well done! Earned my sub!
Honestly, I don't want an RE5 Remake because I prefer Albert Weker's Character the way it Ended in a Satisfying Conclusion to his Arc as a Villain, but I do think a Remake of "RE: Code Veronica X" is definitely the safest Choice because there is a lot Things that needed to be Fixed from the Original, like better Voice Acting, better Pacing (because the Prison Island Level takes forever to Finish through), properly improved Gunplay (because all Zombies and Monsters are absolute Bullet Sponges) and of course the Introduction of a playable Wesker with his own Story Campaign outside of Special Features/Bonus Modes like Mercenaries.
I really don't like the Wesker we've seen in the Remake so far. He's peak in 5 for me. I do wonder if an RE5 ending would end the same way or if they would take it in a new direction. I do think it should probably be faithful to the original. Code Veronica is the best choice, that game could really do with a new coat of paint. A Wesker Campaign would be a really cool idea!
@@internettraveler8666 That's true, but I think so many are really happy with the '02 remake and really prefer the fixed cameras. I really want to see a more modern take on it personally but I understand fans love for the originals. I do agree though, I don't think it's a bad idea because it's so beloved.
That's not incorrect, but it's still important they attempt to tell a coherent story for newcomers to the franchise. Wesker from the remakes doesn't need to mimic the OG, but it's still important that he is explained. I'm quite happy for this new VA to put their own mark on the character. Copying D.C Douglas' version would be a pointless exercise I think.
Thank you! I was really nervous about creating something like this because it's very different to anything I've done before. I'm so glad to hear you liked it! Thank you for your support :)
My personal choice is Code Veronica though another remake of Resident Evil 1 would also be welcomed at this point, I also think they should atleast HD Remaster the Resident Evil Outbreak games for current consoles.
I think Code Veronica has to be the most popular choice, for sure! There is so much untapped potential with that game I feel. Hopefully we get some news soon! The outbreak games would be very interesting too!
When you mentioned about new players playing this game would be wandering who wester is and why he has those powers and such, that was exactly what got me interested in him in the first place when I played the original code Veronica back in the day, that was my first experience with Wesker, and then after that, again on the Re1 remake, so I kind of learned about him a bit backwards, but I don't mind that at all, and I do agree that they should remake the older games before the re5 remake, cuz I don't think it's necessarily A bad thing to see Wesker today and learn about him in a backwards way, it just makes it more interesting to wander about his character.
I agree, it's not the end of the world whatever they choose to do! I've used the example of the Star Wars films backtracking with the prequels, so it would be fine I'm sure! I just think Code Veronica would build some serious hype for 5. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and experiences!
@@Yogarpg It's a strange one. It's almost as if they consider it a side-story or non canon, which is crazy to me because it highlights the importance of Chris, Wesker and of course how much stronger he's become. Not to mention his survival from RE1! It feels like they don't consider it a mainline game, despite what a dedicated fanbase it has. It makes perfect sense to bring back Code Veronica.
I think if they do a second RE1 remake, RE0make needs to be included even if it’s a DLC released later. And then have a mode to where you can choose to play RE0make first and second RE1make, after both games have been purchased. RE0make needs to show more of bravo team and Billy Coen. RE0make can have the scenario campaign from RE6 and retain the co-op system from RE0 and RE5’s multiplayer. The prologue of the game takes place in 1988 with James Marcus about to be assassinated by Wesker and Birkin. But it won’t show Marcus or Wesker and Birkin’s face until it shows again in the climax. Similar to how the did Death Island with Dylan saying “stop I!” In the prologue and show it again in the middle of the film. Have one campaign play as Rebecca and Billy and the other campaign as the bravo team and have it lead up to RE1 and see their fates. Show more experiments of the mutated animals like how Ada mentioned the giant gator in RE2make. See Billy’s past in Africa 1997 have a young Sheva Alomar witness it in hiding with the 23 people killed as a connection to RE5. Also have the train sequence be a bit longer and have one part of the train have light flickering on and off. The scorpion battle stays. When in the URC, have it feel different and expand more on the concept and not make it feel like a carbon copy of the Spencer mansion. When Billy has to rescue Rebecca, if she falls, instead of a automatic game over, it will be a exclusive segment/mission for Rebecca to see her more experience and know more about Umbrella and the Spencer mansion. Billy would also still be alone and have his own mission on his own. It would be similar to the choice system from RE3: Nemesis. Also players would hear a running gag of bats around first of raccoons forest when players roam around there and it’s not until the giant bat shows up but players would use searchlights to blind it to harm it and use their weapons or other to kill it. When players play as bravo team, they will encounter more zombies and monsters and Edward would be the first one to play as until he runs to Rebecca. Wesker and Birkin would show more scenes and expand their roles by not revealing too much of what’s going on in RE2 and RE3. Rebecca would be scared of Billy in the remake compared to the original a bit until she trusts him when he rescues her from the fall. The ending of RE0make would be when Rebecca and Billy part ways and players would have a choice to continue as Rebecca in the second RE1 section in the Spencer mansion and see her point of view. Code Veronica needs a remake and actually show the scene of Claire contacting Leon. Leon is with Ark Thompson speaking to Claire about where she is located. Leon and Ark tell Chris that she is over at rock fort island. Ark also mentions and references Sheena Island without revealing too much. The game can have a choice to play as Chris or Claire in a player select and see their story. There will be also be times where co-op will play as role similar to RE0 and RE5-RE6. Claire with Steve, and Chris with Claire. Steve will be more likable and still be 17 in a few hours and see his maturity from when he turns 18 hours later. Steve will have Carlos’s attitude, Leon’s personality, and Luis’s charisma in one. And will show more of Wesker referencing events that happened in RE1, RE1make, and RE0 to connect the games. Have a hand-to-hand 3rd person fighting combat with Chris and Wesker similar to T3: ROTM game, Tekken series and 3D MK games and have players use objects to throw. RE5make needs to include all cut content such as: merchant (voiced by Paul Mercier from OG RE4), typewriters, zombies, tyrant, night and boat mission, and Barry. Have Chris start to get little PTSD about events from RE1, CV and Revelations. Have Sheva be more cooperative and improve AI. And connect her story with Billy’s 1997 mission with the 23 people murdered. Sheva had some family and friends murdered. Her parents died three years later, but her new family killed made her feel lost. Sheva was 11 years old and tries to go after the people responsible. Sheva mentions Billy’s mission to Chris Redfield. RE5make can also have themes involving prejudice but in a positive way. And maybe also have another Sheva who was a member in Africa and it turned out it was a clone similar how in RE6, there was an Ada clone name Carla. I think these games should be remade in that order. I also think that Survivor should also be remade in first person like RE7 and RE8 with an over the shoulder perspective like RE2make-RE4make. And see the ending with Ark escaping and sees Leon Kennedy and they tell Chris that Claire is at rock fort island. RE6make can be remade as well but just make it less repetitive and polish the storyline. Make Simmons feel like Major Zero from MGS and Emperor palpatine from Star Wars of RE. Simmons needs to feel more threatening and terrifying than ever. Because of how Leon lost over 70,000 people including the president because of him. For Chris campaign, make it darker and have themes similar to MGS5 showing how revenge can impair your mind and mess up the mission and the costs of war that comes with the cycle of revenge against “Ada.” It also deals with how Wesker almost killed Jill and he gets more PTSD than before. Chris would even walk up and see lots of bodies with blood around him. And Chris campaign shows horror aspects of war in survival to keep the story feel more horrifying. Leon’s campaign just needs to be improved since it was basically the horror campaign that other campaigns tried different. Leon can remember moments of what happened in Death island and Degeneration. Have audiences see Leon witness all the 70,000 deaths even the president in a horrifying, agonizing way. Jake and sherry’s campaign will be like RE1-RE2 how it’s a survival horror and they are rookies. They will show the horror of being out into the snow and see mutated snowman’s or yetis. And even have surprising shocking moments like a tank coming through without warning. Jake and Sherry talk deep about their father’s past and legacy. Jake’s story is sort of like Luke Skywalker how he doesn’t want to be like his father darth Vader, and with Jake he tries to do the opposite of what Albert Wesker wanted to do. Bruce, Fong and Ark make cameo appearances. Ark can be one of Leon’s pilot. I think RE9 should be released after these remakes for connecting plots and tying with RE9. I also think Outbreak can be remade by having Raccoon city as a huge open world and have a File 3 included as events that take place between general timeline of end of RE0 and RE2/RE3. And even remake Dead Aim. But Survivor can be DLC to second RE1 remake. RE0 mentioned in the beginning and referenced Raccoon city, Rock Fort Island and Sheena island. Some Survivor, CV X and Re0makes can be dlc to second RE1 make. But I think those dlc games need to be bigger and better basically like how RE4make’s separate ways did and improvement over RE3make.
Somebody else suggested Zero being a DLC for RE1 and I think that's such an awesome idea, it would tie them together beautifully. I love your comparisons with Major Zero from MGS and Palpatine from Star Wars. You make some great observations and suggestions and it's really exciting to see what they will come up with! Thank you for taking the time to type up such a detailed comment, this was a very enjoyable read.
@@edd_TV You’re welcome. Thank you for making this video. I thought of RE9make of just being included with the second RE1make because it would make more sense for RE1 to be remade again a second time because they both take place a day apart and Rebecca and Wesker are in both games but, the DLC thing could work out and have that feature to have RE0make play as the first part and RE1make as the second part if players choose that option. Or choose it however they want to play the story.
@@solidmage1720 I really like the idea of 0 being 1's DLC. I saw some interesting fan art of Resident Evil 9 titled as 'Resident Evil SIX' but the 'IX' was highlighted to indicate 9, but a reimagining of 6. I think that would be fascinating but I'm not sure how people would feel about the franchise going backwards a little bit from Village. It's hard to know what 9 will hold!
@@edd_TV RE9 could be like RE6. I do remember seeing RE9 being titled RE SIX. That could also be a subtle way of it being RE6 in secret but still being RE9. I think for RE9 to be like RE6, it needs the death island protagonists and Billy Coen as playable characters. The story takes place immediately after Village and before Shadows Of Rose. Mia will still play a huge part of the story and is with the death island characters and Billy Coen to take out the BSAA, connections, Umbrella and the virus. The villains would be Jessica, Raymond, Nikolai, Brandon Bailey, and Alex/Natalya Wesker. The game can have the team system similar to RE0 where players can be alone (solo) and co-op (team). The player select from RE1-RE2, Choice system and alternate paths from RE3: Nemesis, chapter system from RE4-RE5, scenario campaign and timeline from RE6, and alternate endings from RE1 and RE7. If they say RE9 is going to be open world like how village was, Capcom just needs it imagine open world raccoon city revisiting every single area from RE1-RE3. The story of RE9 can tie up and connect previous games into this game. And even have themes of fear of getting older, fear of change, fear of dying and passing on to a new generation. RE9 can be like MGS4. I also think RE9 should have death variations like how OG RE4 did. I think Billy Coen can play a huge part of the story meeting the other characters such as Jill, Leon, Claire and Chris. How he understands how it feels to be betrayed by a leader. Leon also remembers when Krauser betrayed Leon because the government betrayed Krauser and Billy can share that pain. And even Wesker betraying both Jilla and Chris. Chris, Jill, Leon, and Claire were a bit skeptical about him at first because he was a wanted felon until Billy convinced them what happened. What if after the Albert Wesker left Birkin and Umbrella, he called umbrella about Billy because he already saw umbrellas’s intentions and tells Umbrella and RPD to capture him? Immediately after Billy and Rebecca parted ways, Umbrella captured Billy to perform experiments on him and Billy accidentally exposed to himself to a virus and has to lay low despite him being wanted for murder. Billy Coen is like David Banner from the 1977 Incredible Hulk series. How he is drifting away and has to find a vaccine to treat and cure him. Carlos and HUNK try to find him. and That’s when he found Rebecca to help him get better. And if Barry returned in RE9, he feels guilty about what happened in RE1 when he betrayed Chris and Jill because of Wesker and now he knows that he doesn’t have time left. Alex/Natalya Wesker plans to kill Barry because of Wesker and even Chris and Claire because they confronted Wesker in the past.
I love 5. Have good memories playing with a friend early on and I am currently doing a run with my bf for the first time and he also enjoys it. So yea we need his lore to make it more meaningful but also excited for them to do 5.
I feel exactly the same! I know the bosses are quite bad but I do think the co-op play really does save it in a lot of ways. It's a great experience and it holds up well today. I'd be really interested in seeing what they would change for an RE5R!
I think CV should definitely be next. As much as I love RE and Wesker I just can't play it. I have tried but it's controls are aweful. I really want to experience the story. And it is absolutely needed before RE5 remake for context if nothing else. I know that CV was the most wanted remake in the capcom survey so hopefully they will listen otherwise what was the point in asking.
I agree with you. I didn't actually play it myself entirely. My uncle owned it and I watched him play it, with me occasionally doing bits and pieces here and there. I fought the Tyrant on the plane etc. I do recall the controls being very janky too and it just really isn't a pleasant experience in this day and age. I'm glad you're on the same page as me! Context is the most important thing. I know some people are kinda just like 'Who cares?' 'They can google it!' but that's not good enough for me. New players should be able to have a coherent experience with the game and story too! Judging from the comments on this video, I think CV is definitely the front runner! I think eventually we will see all the games, it's just a matter of which one they think is best next. I really want to see RE1 again, but you are right. CV is the most important. Love your username btw!
@@edd_TV I was first introduced to Wesker in Dead by daylight. I had never played any of the RE games but I was so intrigued by is character so I started playing RE from the ground up and now have 1000s if hours in RE especially Re5 and RE4R. The only games I haven't actually played are zero and CV. I know dead by daylight has made a lot of new Wesker fans as he has been in the top 10 most played killers for over 2 years now. DBD has for sure made a lot of people want to play RE because of Wesker. So from any point of view it makes so much sense to flesh out his stort for the newer fans.
@@WeskersWidow I haven't played DBD but I knew him and Nemesis were in it. I think that's awesome. It's cool how it introduces people to the franchise too!
They should add more content in the beginning of re5r maybe a chapter or two with Jill and Chris and try to explain history between them and Wesker if they aren't gonna remake any other re
That would be fun. I really enjoyed their DLC in RE5 but it would be interesting if they wanted to expand on that. I would like to see more Jill. It felt strange that a legacy character didn't get much screen time at all. She did have her DLC with Josh too but it didn't feel like a lot.
It would make the most sense to do RE1. Then we’ll have RE1, RE2, RE3, RE4 in the new engine and with the same voice and face actors etc. Then do CV, then RE5.
Instead of another remake, they should give us a Wesker only game from Spencer Manor to his lava bath, tasked with fighting the heros. They can call it Weskers Bad Hair Day.
Hahaha. A Wesker game would be dope. Somebody suggested if they remade RE1 there could be a DLC where you play as Wesker escaping the mansion. I feel like there is definitely some untapped potential there. I just wish he was more like his RE5 counter-part. I'm really not keen on this new Wesker in the RE4 Remake at all.
For a smaller channel you made a good point on why tf they pulled billy out their asses and why tf wasn't Rebecca's team more prominent in a game about them same with nemesis in 3make and brad brad became zombie chow and nemesis killed 0 stars members but killed a shit load of of ubcs and civies
Thanks! It's something that definitely should be addressed if they want to remake 0 at any point. Keeping Billy is fine, but please can we have more of a focus on Bravo team! It's also really bizarre how Rebecca goes from being an absolute champ to a chump in RE1. It's a great opportunity to address these inconsistencies.
This is so true. A new fan can play the new games, starting from RE7, going to the RE2 Remake, and build from there to get a complete storyline that still makes sense... Except for Wesker.
It might not be super important for a lot of fans. Some people have been like 'So what?' or 'Just go and play the old games', but I really wanted to shine a light on this. For me, Wesker IS Resident Evil (for the most part). Glad to hear you agree!
Serious note, we already have a RE1 remake that's gold to this day. However, to do REmake 5, 1 and then Code Veronica must be done since the three have everything to do with Wesker and his relationship to Jill/Chris and the Umbrella Corp.
I do agree, the RE1 remake still holds up well to this day! A remake of RE1 wouldn't have the same feel to it either as we wouldn't get the fixed camera and so on. I just can't help but imagine how good it would look. I'm very much with you. I think they could do Code Veronica, then 5 and back to 1 if they prefer to. That wouldn't be the end of the world for me, but I think it would make more sense to these games in order.
My take on the Weaker story dilemma before the inevitable RE5 Remake is that Capcom should give us a Resident Evil Wesker Chronicles In which we explore the character before he became the mutated maniac, it would help to better characterize him as just the bad guy, my guy is straight up diabolical. Also the Wesker Chronicles would give us the assets to have DLC for each of the RE games (0,HD,Veronica) not worth remaking entirely and charging 70$ Also it should leave a relationship hint for wesker's son on RE6 which is I think the highlight campaign in that game.
That's a cool idea! I know some others have been interested in that too. I wonder if the demand would be there? I would love to see that. Even if it doesn't come next, I think it would be great for them to explore that! I also love your point about Jake. Jake just seemed so shoehorned into 6 so that Wesker could be a part of it, just as a memory now. That's a good thought!
Honestly everyone I've ever talked to who played RE5 said they loved it. My wife and I also loved it when we went through it. I think there's just some haters out there who just get a kick out of trashing something for no reason.
I think you're right. People will always hate, and it's fine. We all enjoy different things. There are definitely things I like about 5 and things I don't. The boss fights aren't exactly fabulous, but I thought the co-op was amazing. I'd be really excited to play a remake of it. 5 doesn't have a Resident Evil 'feel' to me, but I still had fun with it!
I'd love to see them. I don't think RE1 is super necessary, that's more just a wish of my own, but I would love it. They could make the Spencer Mansion so damn scary.
I say we should do a Resident Evil 1 remake first so we can introduce Albert wesker a little bit better Also everybody know about The stars unit in Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake And also the incident about the Mansion incident it will be cool to actually go through it in the remake universe I think it wouldn't feel right to do A RE5 remake and the code Veronica remake with out the first resident evil to set the foundation for the Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker Rivalry I mean I love Resident Evil 4 remake 1 of my favorites but they should have done Resident Evil one And a code Veronica remake before the fourth remake Because Actually code Veronica happened before the fourth one And plus everything would makes sense with Wesker and everything else
That's a great point. It would be nice to get some more focus on S.T.A.R.S too! It's all good and well knowing that Nemesis is going to kill S.T.A.R.S members in the RE3 remake, but some context and backstory on them would be good!
@@seimen4348 You make a good point. If any of these remakes are treated the same as 3 then it's not even worth doing them imo. RE3 was such a rush, it was a damn shame. All the remakes have great potential but they need to actually want to do them for reasons other than money. 3 was a slap in the face and if they treat the likes of RE1 or Code Veronica like that, people aren't going to hold back.
Honestly, regarding re zeros popularity, capcom’s better off making re zero just a long dlc for a re 1 remake This would make sense since both games take place during the same relative time. Besides, they already have Birkin, Wesker, Chris, Jill and Barry models in the re engine
I think that would be a solid idea. Somebody suggested having them baked into one game with two different campaigns: 'Alpha' and 'Bravo'. That would work pretty well I think.
I feel the same as you. I think I would honestly be happy with all of these games remade, but I think the order in which they do them is important. The 30th anniversary is coming up and I think that would be an amazing opportunity to present a reimagining of RE1. Code Veronica would also be an amazing announcement.
I actually have a strong feeling that RE1 will be remade next for various reasons. Obviously RE9 is next on the game schedule, most likely dropping in 2025. But I think RE1RR will come out in 2026. That will be the 30th anniversary of RE1 and it would make a good commemoration on the series and also it would re-introduce the audience to the original story of the series and the original characters. The re-introduction of Wesker, Chris, and Jill is absolutely needed to fully needed for the new audience. And also, a RE1RR would sell gang busters. I also think that RE0 and Code Veronica should be released as DLCs to RE1RR, that should equal to something a little longer than the separate ways remake dlc to make them substantial. Capcom is clearly trying to tidy up the timeline make it less confusing for new fans and I think full on releases for RE0 and CV would confuse new fans timeline wise and could possibly disinterest them in a RE5 remake by the time that rolled around. Remaking RE1 and including story elements in the base game that strongly imply weskers story isn’t over and releasing 2 huge story expansion DLCs for those who want the extra lore I think is the smartest option. Plus it would make RE1 Re-Remake the ultimate resident evil game, which would be fitting for a celebration for its 30th anniversary. This would set the stage for RE5R to be greatly anticipated amongst new and old fans alike, with the story making sense and also the titles of the games also.
A lot of people in the comments have been suggesting that Zero and Code Veronica are 'confirmed' to be next, but I'm not seeing any substantial proof of this. I think Zero would be a bizarre one to put forward next. You make a great point about the 30th Anniversary, that's a great shout! I'm totally with you on more of a spotlight being on Chris, Jill and Wesker too. It would even be nice for them to know people like Barry! I do wonder if the timeline will be beat-for-beat in the sense of how the stories are told. I really like your thinking. If it goes down like this I am absolutely here for it!
It’s nice to see an RE fan with an objective point of view. The amount of overpraise CV gets as something that’s apparently so important that the franchise would fall apart without it is absolutely insane. Also “who would object to an RE1 remake in the new engine” you’d be surprised. They exist, I’ve met them, and it’s disappointing every time lol
That's very nice of you to say, thank you. I'm honestly a very casual fan in truth. This was just something that bothered me and I wanted to talk about it. It was a bit of a risky video for me because all of my previous stuff had been MMO related, so I'm delighted it has been received so well! I think a lot of people are afraid of another RE1 remake invalidating the previous, but I don't think that has to happen at all if they make the games so different, and I think the engine alone achieves that goal. This way the 2002 remake will maintain all of the fixed cameras and claustrophobia that everybody loves and is used to, and a newer one can be more in line with the remakes and potentially feature new elements: enhanced story, characters etc. This will provide two different experiences that can be similar but different. I think it would be okay, but I do understand fans undying love for it!
I guess if they do an RE1 Remake (imho the RE1 HD edition still holds up, only needs better dialogue), they could integrate RE0 into it. As a Separate Ways kind of dlc. Cut down the needless parts, to make it shorter, maybe cut out Billy Coen, since he never reappeared, so I'm sorry but he's not important. Maybe to have it more in line with RE1, have Rebecca do no big action scenes like Jill and Chris, have her be unarmed, not killing two tyrants, make it a true survival experience. They could also add a bit of RE2R like feel to it if they make Chris and Jill parts like an A and B scenario, to make it feel like both path happens. And finally, add a Ghost Survivor like dlc, that has you escape the mansion as Wesker. (preferably none of these should be dlc, but be part of the base game, but we know how Modern Gaming works...)
A few people have suggested Zero being a part of a DLC for a 1 Remake. I think it's a cool idea and would tie the games together really well. I love your idea of escaping the mansion as Wesker, that would be sick.
@@pedgone2240 That's a cool idea! I think it would be awesome if we could see him cameo in a 5 remake. It makes me sad that characters like Billy and Carlos were just swept under the rug.
The order I think they should do is do Code Veronica next, then RE5 with stronger emphasis on making the co op better, then implement those co op mechanics in a Zero remake. I am mixed on a second remake on RE1 cause the OG remake is so good and is available on most platforms now so I can take or leave another one.
I like the sound of that. What changes would you like to see with the co-op? I do agree, I think the remake for 1 was good but the prospect of a newer one on the RE engine really excites me; that being said I think other titles deserve it more, Code Veronica especially!
I had thoughts about where the franchise could go from here. As far as leaks go, take them with a grain of salt, but if the franchise came out with Resident Evil 9 I'd like to see a handing off of the torch in a way that still rewards some older players who grew up with it. For the importance of Wesker, it could evolve into a question between the other candidates of the W Project as to what they want the name Wesker means to them and the world. I wouldn't mind Jake Muller and Alex Wesker clashing ideologies about what it means to be a superior specimen in the middle of their superhuman battle of getting the upper hand on each other. It could be a great way to redeem Jake's character after how RE6 went. I also think RE9 in this scenario could extend where the franchise could go with a newer generation, and Capcom could still create more remakes of classic RE titles to buy time even if RE9 flopped with their direction. And if RE also failed, it's been a long and good run with a rich history in gaming. Dude I love talking about Resident Evil with my friend for hours on end about how we both experienced and noticed the time and care put into these and I only want good things for this franchise. A few learning mistakes were made but RE survived this long.
I like your thinking. I do think RE9 should be a change of the guard in some way. I think RE9 could serve as some sort of 'Endgame' where all the characters can reunite for one big send off, because they are all ageing very fast. It's probably time for some newer characters. It worked very well with Ethan Winters.
Tbh I'm more than happy with the new wesker, less corny and more remorseless. Which is exactly what his character is. Better writing in the future will help with that. Adas story gave him more screen time and i was more than happy. I'm a massive fan of wesker in general, especially due to D.C douglas and his fantastic voice work. Unfortunately he's ruined his reputation now
Definitely less corny, I agree. And I think it's probably a good thing in this day and age. Maybe the Wesker from RE5 wouldn't translate as well because it is very goofy, I just can't help but love it. I think your assessment on Wesker is very fair, and it's of course subjective. I hope the new VA can really make his own mark with Wesker. It's really important he doesn't attempt to emulate previous iterations. I just didn't feel very excited for him personally. I hope that will change going forward! The D.C Douglas stuff I honestly had no idea about until putting this video out and people mentioned him in the comments. I was gutted to read about it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Haha, I don't begrudge you for it. I'm not totally against a 6 remake but I would want so much changed, so much that it wouldn't even be recognisable to its original. There have been a few fans of 6 in the comments, I just think it would be really hard to salvage based off the original. Not an impossible job, but I don't think the demand would be there at all. Never say never though! I saw some really cool fan art of a Resident Evil 9 announcement and it was titled 'Resident Evil SIX' with the 'IX' highlighted, almost like it was Resident Evil 9 but a reimagining of 6. That would be really interesting!
I remember it well too! It was really exciting. I just can't forgive what they did to both of those characters in that game. That being said, if people like 6 that's great too. It just really didn't do it for me. Seeing those two in the trailer pointing the guns at each other was dope though.
@edd_TV I respect your opinion but don't see it. I like how Chris had that depression arch then lost Piers the dude who brought him back. Also Leon going after Ada and holding her was pretty great, Sherry Birkin being back with powers was amazing too. The gameplay was so fun aswell not having to rely on a gun or knife. Honestly the games that had me lose faith in RE was 7 and 8(the only resident evil game I haven't played
@@2.0wen Oh don't get me wrong, Piers was brilliant. He was the MVP! I wasn't so hot on Chris being an amnesiac or how serious Leon was. He felt like a completely different character to me, but his moment with Ada was nice and a long time coming! It was nice to get that pay off.
@edd_TV Its been awhile but I don't remember Chris having amnesia, I assume it was why he was at that bar. I must have seen it as heavy depression and drinking, but I'll admit I figured Finn dying just had that affect on him despite seeming odd. I think Leon being that way was more on Matt Mercer, I adore Matt but his Leon is pretty unique. He definitely makes some quips but they don't land the way they did in 4 or Darkside Chronicles with Paul Mercier, but it could definitely be argued it was the writing. Matt did good in the Damnnation movie, though.
@@2.0wen Yeah it was post-traumatic amnesia. It just felt a bit weird for me. I really didn't get on with Jake being Wesker's son either. I think you're right about Mercer too,and I agree, he's awesome! I have to say, it's refreshing to hear someone say they enjoyed 6, so thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings!
I would like a RE6 remake long as they take the time fix the story CV would be great as a next remake Like you said I think we will get all the games Just hope they do it fast enough so I get to play them
I'm not sure if 6 is fixable. It would be interesting to see what they would do differently, but I wonder if the demand will ever be there. Time will tell. I hope they come out fast enough that you can play them too and that they are a high standard that we can all enjoy. Thanks for watching!
This is great video! I agree with you about pretty much everything. I think if they jumped straight to an RE5 Remake Wesker's character would be really underbaked and the rivalry with Chris would feel really underwhelming. As the remakes story stands right now it could make an RE5 Remake disappointing story wise. In my opinion I think Capcom should do both RE1 and CVX Remakes because that's where a lot of the Chris and Wesker arc take place. RE0 could be cool to see but I don't think in terms or story it's as necessary as RE1 and CVX to get the full context of Chris and Wesker.
I don't know many big fans of 0 personally but I do think it could set things up nicely if they want to tap into Wesker and Birkin a bit more. I thought Birkin was awesome in the RE2 remake. You're right though, it's not super necessary in terms of Chris/Wesker, just more so that Wesker had ulterior motives. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
If RE0 ever gets a remake, it needs to be a ground-up remake that scraps *everything* from the original game, in order to better fit with the events of RE1. No Billy, no train, no second mansion, cut it all. A second mansion is dumb, and making the characters go through a separate (but identical) set of events to RE1 (cough cough Rebecca mf Chambers) just lessens the impact of the first game. RE0R should focus exclusively on STARS Bravo Team and their experiences in the Spencer Mansion shortly before the events of RE1. It should delve into the helicopter crash, each member getting picked off, and how the different members got to their locations where you discover them in the first game (like Richard meeting Yawn, or *HOW* Enrico got into the caves), etc. It would play similar to RE2R, or some kind of modernized RE1. It shouldn't be too long, as it would tie into RE1 seamlessly; maybe it could be a slightly longer Separate Ways or Shadows of Rose style DLC for a newer, more modernized RE1 remake. Rebecca was way too scared and confused in RE1 to have gone through the events of RE0; if she was in RE0 she'd be exhausted by RE1, if not exhausted then at least much more used to handling the zombies and BOWs than she appeared to be. Either make the events happen closer together so Rebecca's still too new/inexperienced/unaccustomed/not-adjusted to fighting zombies and hasn't gained the composure she (and all other surviving STARS & Raccoon City Incident survivors) developed after the initial trilogy, or make somebody else be the main playable character. Maybe it could be Enrico searching his way through the mansion and ending up in the caves. Maybe it could have everyone be playable for a short time. Play certain characters until they become a casualty, then switch to another character. It would have to follow the order of who died first, but it could definitely work. Play as Robert until he dies (have a last stand against the crows), play as Richard until he gets poisoned by Yawn's venom, etc. Or they could even do different episodes that all fit together; the Rebecca episode would go until she locks herself upstairs and meets Chris. The Enrico episode would last until the caves when he's shot by Wesker, the Richard episode goes the same as above. You could unlock the episodes by finding tapes on the corpses of dead Bravo Team members in this new RE1RR. Just a thought. Either way, it should focus on the events immediately preceding RE1, not some convoluted BS side story that throws a wrench in *all* of the RE1 story
I really like your thinking and totally agree. You raise such an important point with Rebecca too. The inconsistencies from Zero into RE1 are so incredibly frustrating and it begs the question why Zero is the way it is when it's supposed to be the precursor for all of this. It doesn't make sense. I like your ideas! Some people have suggested if they remake RE1 then they could potentially do both games in one; there could be an 'Alpha' campaign and a 'Bravo' campaign. This could tie the games pretty well together but they do have their work cut out for them in terms of quelling inconsistencies and telling a coherent story. This was a really good read! Thanks for watching and taking the time to type this up!
@@edd_TV An Alpha and Bravo campaign sounds brilliant tbh! Then you'd have a whole host of characters to choose from and explore tons of different story arcs that both were and weren't covered in RE1 and RE0. Maybe the Bravo Team campaign would unlock after you beat the Alpha (normal) campaign, so you play through and let the mysteries unravel like normal, then you get the full picture afterwards. So many opportunities present themselves from this suggestion alone. I really enjoyed your video, and thank you for replying to me. Keep up the good work and have a great night
@@MarioTheLiopleurodon I like the sound of that! It would be a great way to connect the dots. It's an exciting prospect for sure. Thank you for your kind words! Thanks for watching and take care :)
Should be CV, Is the Claire story while Leon was kicking ass in Spain, and it's necesary to understand RE5 as a Whole, And speaking of Claire, it would be the last game she Will appear in this RE Remake trend, bc it would be crazy and absurd to Remake the Revelation Duology
If they remake re1 again. They really really to accurately portray why Wesker really hates Chris. Wesker: "The ultimate lifeforms! Tyrant!" Chris *laughing* Wesker: "Chris?.....stop it!"
I personally think it doesn’t matter. A little back story in the form of files or other type of media that can be found in-game should suffice. (Meaning I don’t see the need for them to Make CV first, but whatever) my example is RE6. We know ADA and Simmons had a fling and that’s enough, we don’t need to have a whole game or campaign to let us know their backstory. I see the same thing for Wesker and Chris. We don’t need to know (in the remakes anyways), we just need to know that they had beef and we don’t need a whole game to find out why. Again, unpopular opinion but that’s my opinion. And with the way remakes are going, they have potential to rewrite certain things and if people, like newcomers, are JUST playing the remakes, they can be left wondering who Albert Wesker is. And to re-iterate, I don’t care if CV gets remade or not and if does, I’ll be playing it regardless. I’m just more excited for RE5 than CV.
You are right. I just think it would be fun if they could connect those dots. I do agree with you in the sense that it's a 'remake' not a 'remaster' so it doesn't have to go down exactly the same way as it did in the past. It might be an unpopular opinion but no less valid! I'm always interested in hearing what people think. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Honestly CV could turn the Chris vs Wesker scene into a straight up fight to prepare us for RE5. Maybe shift things so Claire deals with Alexia and Chris fights Wesker
I would be down for this! I do think this remake timeline is a great opportunity to play around with the narrative and shift things about. And I don't think that's damaging to the original material either, fi anything it secures its validity because now you can have two difference experiences; I felt they did this right with RE4 Remake. I like where your head is at. Fingers crossed!
I'd love to see Code Veronica next. But I wouldn't say no to Resident Evil 1 ReRemake in RE Engine (that's too many Re's I know lol), and I think even Resident Evil 5 Remake can work as well
That is a lot of RE's, but I get what you mean, haha. I agree. I'd love to see both but I think Code Veronica has the most importance with just how crazy strong Wesker becomes. RE1 would just tidy things up and bridge a full connection. I think they can do anything and always back-track, it worked with George Lucas and the prequels with Star Wars, so I'm sure whatever they go for, it will eventually make sense! I think most people would be interested in Code Veronica the most though, for sure!
It seems to be the most popular choice! It would be really interesting to see what they would change with it and it would really build some much needed hype for 5!
I wish they'd make a game where you play AS Wesker for the bulk of it. I know he's a villain, but his character is so interesting and it would expand lore a bit. Maybe a game where he has to juggle his Umbrella and S.T.A.R.S. jobs? I just want more Wesker content that isn't in the form of a minigame or unlockable gamemode.
Playing as Wesker would be amazing. I get where you're coming from with him being a bad guy, but I still think it's feasible we could see something like this! Some people suggested there could be a DLC in an RE1 remake where he has to escape the mansion etc. There is definitely room for some Wesker content outside of what we are used to with the likes of Mercenaries and so on. I'd love to see it!
Zero wasn’t a bad game per-say but it definitely had it’s issues and could have been much better. The problem i have with Zero is it adds so many plot holes and inconsistencies that the series makes so much more sense without it. There was nothing wrong with Resident Evil 1 being the beginning, everything was explained and it made sense, so really Zero probably shouldn’t exist.
I agree. If they want to do it again then it's a great opportunity to fix things but I'm also quite happy to let it go. I love how much of a badass Rebecca is in Zero but then they completely undo that with 1. Enrico's more focused on Billy rather than the zombies, there is just so much weird stuff going on in that game; Doctor Marcus being the biggest offender. You are right, we didn't need Zero as they explain in RE1 that Bravo team went missing and Alpha went to rescue them, and that's honestly all we need in terms of a baseline. It was a nice idea that they tried to explore it with Zero, but it didn't work for me. I would be interested in them attempting to try again but I could live without it.
Honestly it does make sense to remake 1 again but I love RE1 HD to death and frankly and getting a bit tired of having to accept the various unnecessary alterations or things lost in these remakes, not to mention inconsistent or mismatched VA work (I don't want a return of Carlos Redfield and the new Wesker VA is simply not Wesker). As an immediate, aesthetic example you can bet an RE1R would use that awful redesign of Jill's STARS uniform from 3make. I'd also bet they'd characterise Jill as a sassy girlboss the same way they did in RE3R despite her not being that way. The 2, 3 and 4 remakes have all been 'reimaginings' really, while RE HD was a true remake. I guess I'm tired of the compromise that comes with a 'reimagining' of a beloved game.
I understand. I feel strongly about RE1 HD too. It's definitely risky and the word 'reimagining' is good, but it honestly depends on execution. It could be great and it could also be really bad. I would really love to see RE1 again though. I don't want them to invalidate the original game or the '02 remaster by any means. I want them to do an imagining similarly to the other remakes where we can flesh out further story development and characters. Enhance the gameplay and so on. Fans of the franchise should be able to play the 2002 one or a future remake and be able to have similar experiences but also different! This way the validity of both games is secured. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
There are rummors that Capcom is working on 3 RE games Resident Evil 9 Resident Evil Zero Remake Resident Evil Code Veronica X Remake and also Resident Evil 1 Remake (but this is from a less reliable source)
@ personally I would like this release order 1.RE 1 remake 2.RE Zero Remake 3. RE CVX remake 4.RE 9 But we will probably get re 9 first and then remakes
I agree, start with the first, and maybe Zero can be added as DLC or placed within the story, as a shorter more streamlined story. Code Veronica definitely needs doing too, so this would all feel like the Chris v Wesker trilogy. And then yeah, 5 and keep it co-op, and I actually think they should follow up with a 6 remake, as I think that was a fantastic co-op game and the interlocking stories were really fun, if they can improve the other games, I don't think it would take much to improve upon 6, and hopefully they can do the real 7, and continue these stories, Jake, Sherry, and Jill would probably make a very interesting story, and hell, it wouldn't be to difficult to add Claire, Chris and Leon into it and maybe give them a real send off
I do think we are probably due some sort of 'Avengers Assemble' moment where we can see all the characters show up and shine together. I would really like to see Carlos again personally, especially after how good he was in the RE3 Remake. I think they have the legs to do absolutely anything with 6 and it would no doubt be an improvement. It makes you wonder what RE9 holds too. You would have to wager it involves Chris on some level, but I wonder who else?
Wouldn’t mind a trilogy with Wesker: 1, Code Veronica & 5. But I’m good with just Code Veronica & 5. We’ll see. 5 is probably going to be amazing when it does get remade, btw.
For sure. I would be very interested to see what they would change with 5; none of the boss fights are particularly great so that could definitely do with a new coat of paint. Code Veronica would be massive in terms of a remake though, there is so much potential there.
I agree. I didn't think about this ahead of time but so many people are interested in this. I think baking both games into one and having both an 'Alpha' and 'Bravo' campaign would be really great. It would do wonders for tying the stories together.
I would make RE1 first (they gone need to build the Spencer mansion for CV & RE5 anyway) but implement elements from Zero and make the RE0 remake into DLC. Then do CV & RE5 but have Wesker survive. That way he can be the big bad for RE6R, which would be a new story starring Jill, Chris, Claire, Leon, Rebecca & Ada.
A lot of people have suggested this and I think it's a really cool idea. Some have suggested they could present two campaigns in an RE1 Remake: 'Alpha' campaign and 'Bravo' campaign. I also LOVE the idea of Wesker surviving RE5 in the remake.
I’m one of the few people who loves RE6 (it’s just wonderfully over the top), and I hope they can make the remake more likable for all of you other folks.
That's absolutely fair! It was only a little dig, if people like 6 then I'm really happy for them! You are right, it is very crazy, haha. I just wasn't into the story or the arcs for the characters. I wouldn't say no to a remake that could potentially make it more enjoyable for me.
My hot take: Wesker didn’t actually die at the end of re5 The dude plans for longer than 4 games and in re5 throws it all out the window. He probably cloned himself or something as a backup plan.
Both Zero and Code Veronica are in dire need of a glow up. I agree that Zero probably needs it more in terms of functionality/systems (as well as connecting and enhancing the story). It's a very difficult game to get into.
Unlike the popular opinion, I think they should remake the first game instead of code Veronica, then CV and fifth game. After all, let's say you are a newcomer, from the RE engine era, you play 2 remake, play 3 remake and only on the fourth you have a glimpse of the true antagonist By throwing them at CV would make them care less about Wesker, by how sudden he comes and disappears, while on the first game you could have way more idea on what you are dealing with, and probably be surprised when he reappears on CV. After all, CV is mainly about chris rather than Wesker, and seeing him from nowhere and disappearing would leave people more like "ok, anyways" rather than "omg who is that mysterious person?" In shorter words, 1 game should have the remake first (that won't happen unfortunately) then CV The reason CV should receive a remake, isn't about Wesker, but because after 2, we got very well Leon's future on the fourth remake, it we didn't got a glimpse of what happened with Claire, so CV should be treated as sideline rather than main focus of the series. After all, looks like people forgot the whole plot of CV is about Claire trying to find her brother, straight continuation of the second game of her side. Think with me, if you made CV first, people would hell be confused why Chris, her brother finally appears and leaves instantly, just like 90% of damn village (and this was something people complained of him a lot), this would taste like claire is a clown following a retard neglectful brother, if they don't get to know Chris lore and RE1 Events that lead to all the games. Conclusion: We need a 1 remake first logically, then a CV, because it would introduct better Chris before throwing the newcomers in the maelstrom that the fifth game is, Chris already gives a bad taste by his smoke bomb appearance on the newer games, and this I am talking based on newcomers, it specifically the old fans (which the remake aims for both), so making the newer fans more frustrated and confused would profit way less.
We're on the same wavelength, for sure. I understand the desire for Code Veronica and it's arguably the most important title, but I feel like if they want to tell this story then they may as well run it back to its roots. I agree with your points. Thanks for watching and taking the time to type this up! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
I really dont get the needs of a remake because it's made in 2002. The remake is a golden standard of what a remake should do. that's a bad reason to remake the remake
It's more the fact that it would be on a new engine. The RE1 remake holds up well, but a remake of it with the RE engine would be completely different in regards to gameplay. I think that would be really interesting to see. It's not so much a knock on the 2002 remake, just that it's an exciting prospect to see what they could do with it in a style similar to the 2,3 and 4 remakes.
@@griggletv6974 Ah no, sorry! I was eluding more to seeing it on a new engine. I think the RE1 Remake is dope! It holds up really well but a reimagining of it like the new remakes is really appealing to me.
His model in R.E.4 remake looks ok to me but his voice simply can't be replaced. It worked with Ada but that dosen't mean it works with every character.
I adore the GameCube remake, I would be a little sad to see it be replaced by a REEngine remake. Which it would be, no one would play the the proper RE1 remake of it was redone in modern technology. It feels like erasing history. Resources would be much better spent on remaking CV or even Revelations. 5 should not come before CV
I think that's fair. I would like to think they could make the game so different that both games would remain valid in their own way but I totally get where you're coming from!
I just hope Wesker gets his iconic accent back. They have more freedom in remaking RE5 but if they ruin him then the game falls apart. "Wesker despises Chris" Also Wesker: "Chris, oh little fishy come see my hook"
I feel like he's already a bit ruined. I don't want to go full doomer but I'm really unhappy with the way he looks and his voice actor in the RE4 Remake. I think D.C Douglas did it too well, he's irreplaceable for me.
@@edd_TV They really do need Douglas or find a good impressionist. What about the look isn't doing it for you? I didn't mind it as much. He just needs his Matrix jacket now.
@@frankkennedy6388 I can't quite put my finger on it! I'm not sure if it was the clothes or his hair colour maybe? The VA is definitely a big issue for me but Douglas is just a crazy hard act to follow. Wesker remake just comes across as a bit of an old geezer to me, rather than big bad sexy Wesker from RE5.
@@edd_TV I think I'm starting to get what you mean. The facial structure is "softer" in a way compared to the other model, and he doesn't have that commanding presence? That Wesker has. The turtle neck especially makes him feel like some old dude.
I feel like we're going to get RE9 next first, and if they're going to deal with the Wesker problem if audiences really want to know who the character is they should re-remake the first game
Resident Evil 1 and 0 should be next, since in the canon RE timeline it's how everything begins for him and his vendetta against the world & Chris. That and Resident Evil 1 was the first game of the franchise and also was the first RE game to get a remake.
I really don't need another remake of 1. At all. But if they do it anyway... Let's just go all out please and give us both 1st AND 3rd person view (if RE8 can have it, so can RE1 !). Please and thank you.
That's fair. I think this is more of a personal wish of mine. I have seen some people who have suggested they could remake RE1 and also bake Zero into it, either as DLC or another campaign. We could have two campaigns: 'Alpha' campaign and 'Bravo' campaign. How do you feel about that? I think a first person RE1 would be insane. They could make that so scary. I'd love to see that!
@@edd_TV I say I don't need one, because that first RE1 remake is still my favorite in the franchise to this day. And I can still replay it, with tank controls and all, and still have an absolute blast. But I totally understand people wanting to see it given the more modern remake treatment. And knowing myself... I'd buy in anyway ! :'D I like the baked in campaign idea though ! That would be absolutely fine by me ! And besides the first person... If I could ask them for one other thing. It would be to restore the "Jill sandwich" line. Just that one. That's the one and only thing I like more about the original 😂
@@siffrelot8146 Understandable. The Remake was very good. I like to make the comparison to Final Fantasy 7's Remake. It can be a reimagining so they can mess with the gameplay, the storyline, anything! It can be totally different from the RE1 Remaster which in turn will keep both games valid in different ways. I feel they did this well with the RE4 Remake. It allows you to play both games and have different experiences. The Jill Sandwich line (for better or worse) is iconic! I would love to hear it again 😆
If I'm going to be honest, they should do Code Veronica first if they are going to really go through with this new wesker movement. They need to give people time to adjust and part of this adjustment I feel would best be served with a code Veronica remake. it kills 2 birds with one stone, teach people the Wesker and Chris beef and get people used to this Wesker. Once that settles, then let RE5 be remade. This also gives the Wesker Voice Actor some time to get adjusted to the role and hopefully provide a better service then he did during RE4!
I think you're right, Sarah. It makes the most sense to me! The kid in me really wants 1, but I think they can honestly do RE1 at any given point and it will still be okay. I do feel bad for feeling the way I do about RE4R's Wesker, I just think D.C Douglas set the bar so very high. Hopefully he does grow into it and 5R will be better. I know some people did really like him. I very much agree with you though, I think you have summarised it all excellently. Roll on Code Veronica!
It sucks cus like as a massive RE fan since playing RE5 way back when with my older brother, I know and LOVE Wesker and seeing him again had me on my feet at the end of SW. However, I do know that they’re in a difficult position having to implement such an iconic figure in the Remake while having him “hit” the same.
I recently convinced my friend to give these games a try because he has always avoided this series after a disappointing playthrough of 5 with his dad when he was a kid but we started with 5 since that was the only one he has played and he is enjoying it a lot so he wants to play the other games in order so were starting hopefully this weekend woth RE0 im interested to see what happenes with the shifting of gameplay through each title for a series newcomer.
That's awesome! I hope he has a great time with them. You could probably turn that into a little video series if you wanted to. People are always so interested in gamers experiencing something for the first time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and enjoy the games with your friend!
@edd_TV RE is one of my all time favorite series so I'm going to try not to just share to much random lore as he plays lol. I'm beyond excited to go through all the highs and lows of the series from his eyes and discuss them. The main issue today tho is that any reveals to do with Wesker are pretty much known to anyone who has even just glanced at the series. When we go through RE 1 the main issue will be that the two big reveals will already be revealed that being wesker and Umbrella. But 0, 2,3,CV, and Revelations1&2(if he wants to play them) will all at least be completely new as we catch up to what we have played with 5 before starting the wildness of RE6. I'm also super excited tho to get to 7 & 8 because in my eyes those games complement Chris's entire arc and origins of everything. Man he is in for a ride!
@@Magicman1625 That is sadly very true about Wesker. It's a big shame. Hopefully they will enjoy the game all the same though! RE6 is definitely going to be a trip 😅 7 and 8 are great too! You guys sound like you're gonna have a blast.
Resident Evil doesn’t need another remake, honestly. If it gets remade again, there’s just no way it’ll ever match up to the original REmake. Just look at CAPCOM’s recent track record with remakes-they’re more likely to add new inconsistencies than fix the ones already there. They’ve already changed Jill and Wesker’s personalities in RE3R and RE4R, so there’s no reason to think they’d stop there. Code Veronica makes the most sense to remake as it's the only one here not available on modern consoles unlike REmake.
I don't think it needs to match up though. It can be a totally different experience, and I think that's what it should be. This way both games can remain valid in their own ways. You can maintain the original 2002 feel with the fixed cameras and claustrophobia and then have a more modern take with the engine similar to RE2R/3/4 etc. You can have similar but different experiences if that makes sense? It would allow both games to have an identity and feel playable, rather than 'Don't worry about 2002 anymore, just play this'. I think FF7 did this really well with their remake. I get where you're coming from of course, and you are right. There is definitely risk there in regards to inconsistencies and changing the storyline and personalities. It could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. You make a good point with Code Veronica. Not only does it make the most sense narratively in my opinion if they wish to explore Wesker, but it's not even accessible anymore. Great call.
I don't think it's wrong! I think it's certainly iconic to how those games were played but I think if we saw a reimagining of it, it wouldn't work as well. I suppose that's what will really set apart a 'remaster' and a 'remake'; a remaster should ideally just be tidying up the game whilst keeping all of the core elements. A remake can allow a completely different spin on the game, from the way it's played to the narrative. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a good example of this I think.
So many people have suggested this! It's a really interesting idea; the concept of an 'Alpha' Campaign and a 'Bravo' Campaign! It would really tie the games nicely together! I like your thinking. I very much agree with you!
@@thelivingshado5 I think all games could change dramatically, but I think you're right about Zero being an expansion of sorts! It would be really at helping connect the story of Zero and RE1 better.
I do think they should try and incorporate Jake in some fashion, even if it was Wesker just looking at an old family photograph or something. I'm not sure. It was always very weird to me how Jake was just shoehorned into RE6 because they wanted Wesker in the game, just as a memory now. It could be interesting to see Jake again somehow.
The Wesker in RE4R, in both looks and sounds extremely underwhelming. So if he is similar in RE5R I will be severely disappointed.
Hard agree. I'm not a fan of his voice actor or model at all in the 4 remake. He just looks like an old bloke.
Same with the voice of Ada. Why didn't they take the same voice actress from RE2R?
@@davyheijlands1956 Man, the voice of Ada is SO bad. No passion at all.
Should be 1, CV, then 5. We need the whole Wesker arc
Hook it up to my veins! Give us 'The Wesker Trilogy'!
Re1 and 0 together so we can get a real character arc for rebecca chambers
1 already got remade, no need for that.
💯
It's quintessential RE. The most excited I was for the story was as a teen playing Code V, then they just went off the rails with the story in RE4-6
@@jarlwhiterun7478 I really agree with this; much as I love RE5 the direction of the franchise became very ridiculous very quickly.
Code Veronica should be before RE5, and then maybe the first game remaster in the RE engine. But yes, CV needs to be first
CV is the most important, for sure.
Also RE1 will not get a remake since it's allredy remade. Maybe in future, who knows.
@@viniciustorres3318 That's exciting. I really hope they deliver!
That is true, it's a nice way to put a positive spin on it!
I can already tell this guy gets it just from the title and thumbnail. Capcom has put themselves in a weird position here. Very excited to watch.
I hope you enjoy! Do let me know your thoughts afterwards!
This was very well done! I'm glad to have helped out.
Thanks again my friend, appreciate you!
I would love to see a remake of Albert Wesker's campaign's from umbrella chronicles.
@@Bardia006plus1That would be awesome.
Stroyline wise CV should be done before RE5
Agreed, it would be so weird to go straight into 5. I kinda wish they did CV before 4, but 4 is regarded as the 'best' for a lot of people so I get it. Fingers crossed CV is next!
Everything started in RE0 & 1 for Wesker and from what I remember, he worked in the shadows against Umbrella with Birkin as his accomplice on the inside. A remake of those two games could expand on that and maybe more (like the virus that turned Wesker into the superhuman he became).
If it's worth anything, the original re5 was my first experience with Wesker, and he's still my favourite Resident Evil character
That is certainly worth something. I think he's brilliant in 5!
Wesker face is like Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800 with sunglasses and blonde hair
Now I'm imagining Wesker voiced by Arnold. 'C'man, Chris. Do it! KILL ME!'
I've been saying this exact same thing. They need to build up the Redfield/Wesker story before remaking 5 and finishing their story. Well done! Earned my sub!
So glad to hear I'm not alone with this! I'm pleased to hear it resonated well with you. Thank you so much!
Yall don't want this remake or that remake but buy the game ND start jizzing all on it, yall weird af 😂
It would be safe to remake the first resident evil again because everyone already likes that game
@@internettraveler8666 That's true, but I think so many are really happy with the '02 remake and really prefer the fixed cameras. I really want to see a more modern take on it personally but I understand fans love for the originals. I do agree though, I don't think it's a bad idea because it's so beloved.
So like. You guys know RE4R Wesker is based on the RE4 Wesker, not the RE5 version right? RE4R Wesker is exactly how he should've been for RE4R.
This is very well done, I've subscribed.
Thank you! I was really nervous about creating something like this because it's very different to anything I've done before. I'm so glad to hear you liked it! Thank you for your support :)
@@edd_TV You're most welcome, as a communicator you have a knack for it, please keep going 👍
The Original Code Veronica is not even playable in the current gen and PC
Not officially at least
I love the game, but Capcom seems to have abandon it
@@Yogarpg It's a strange one.
Personally for me I want a code Veronica remake because that game is very important to resident evil lore in my opinion
It seems to be most people's first choice, understandably so!
@@edd_TV indeed
Forget Wesker, I need Jill sandwich in 4K
They better not remove that line, it would make a new remake unplayable

I agree. It would be nice to keep it all consistent.
Remake raccoon city make hunk the main character and leader of the group and bring that fire multiplayer back 😭
Would never say no to more HUNK!
My take on the Weaker story dilemma before the inevitable RE5 Remake is that Capcom should give us a Resident Evil Wesker Chronicles
In which we explore the character before he became the mutated maniac, it would help to better characterize him as just the bad guy, my guy is straight up diabolical.
Also the Wesker Chronicles would give us the assets to have DLC for each of the RE games (0,HD,Veronica) not worth remaking entirely and charging 70$
Also it should leave a relationship hint for wesker's son on RE6 which is I think the highlight campaign in that game.
Rockford island is actual a good location for an semi open world RE game
Very true. It has to be the most likely destination! They could flesh it out so much.
They really need to put out remakes of re1 and re code veronica before doing re5 remake.
My biggest fear with re1 is the length of the game.
We dont want another re3 remake, do we?
Re1 and 0 together on the other hand would be enough.
@@edd_TV Let us hope 3 remake fanboys don't hear about your dislike of their favorite game ever created
@@nikkeli3942 I honestly didn't hate 3 but the pacing was just cracked. It was so fast! Carlos was a real saving grace though, that boy was awesome.
Honestly, regarding re zeros popularity, capcom’s better off making re zero just a long dlc for a re 1 remake
This would make sense since both games take place during the same relative time. Besides, they already have Birkin, Wesker, Chris, Jill and Barry models in the re engine
I think that would be a solid idea. Somebody suggested having them baked into one game with two different campaigns: 'Alpha' and 'Bravo'. That would work pretty well I think.
Imagine they remake 0 and 1 into one huge game, and you can choose which story you want to play first
Very cool idea! People have mentioned the games being broken up to an 'Alpha' and 'Bravo campaign'!
I totally agree. It makes no sense to remake 5 without at least remarking Code Veronica. But RE1 is what I want the most.
I agree with you. We need veronica and 0 first. Re5 isn't even that old.
Yeah RE5 still looks pretty solid today! I wouldn't say no to a remake but no way should it be the priority right now.
I love your idea of escaping the mansion as Wesker, that would be sick.
they could keep billy if they changed his story to make him appear in 5 since he already went to africa in his backstory
Albert Wesker is instrumental for the succes of the series
100% agree. I'm certain we will see more of him.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
next one is 9, zero and veronica and then we get 5 remake. mark my words
I could dig it. I'd be surprised if they did Zero first. I really didn't think the demand would be there for it, but I'd be happy with that!
This won't age well at all 😂😂😂
I agree completely, well said, and I hope they do this in the order you have stated
Thank you! Glad it resonated well with you. Thanks for watching!
Im guilty of wanting a re 6 remake..
I remember as a kid seeing the Resident evil 6 trailer with Chris and Leon fighting. Yeah that was my Infinity War tbh
Can't waite for Daddy weskers return in CODE V.
Hell yeah!
If they remake one, the should make a wesker escape DLC
Being able to play as Wesker in something other than Mercenaries would honestly be amazing. I would love this!
Renake Code Veronica then 5 if they plan on retelling the whole Wesker Saga.
Definitely the way to go. As much as I want to see RE1 I feel like they can insert 1 whenever they want to, but CV has to come before 5!
I would like a RE6 remake long as they take the time fix the story
CV would be great as a next remake
Like you said I think we will get all the games
Just hope they do it fast enough so I get to play them
I'm not sure if 6 is fixable.
@@edd_TV Me. I'm a big fan of Zero :D
Well the “reveal” was done in RE4R, when originally it was CV. CV is kinda up in the air
That is true. In this timeline, the events of RE1 may not have even happened (but they probably did)
I think RE1 with some new scenes showing Weskers powers then 5 would work
A Wesker DLC could be interesting I think. Him potentially escaping the Mansion or something like that!
Should be CV, Is the Claire story while Leon was kicking ass in Spain, and it's necesary to understand RE5 as a Whole,
And speaking of Claire, it would be the last game she Will appear in this RE Remake trend, bc it would be crazy and absurd to Remake the Revelation Duology
Agreed. I think people would be really happy to see Claire again too from playing the RE2 Remake. CV makes the most sense for everything.
If they remake re1 again. They really really to accurately portray why Wesker really hates Chris.
Wesker: "The ultimate lifeforms! Tyrant!"
Chris *laughing*
Wesker: "Chris?.....stop it!"
Hahaha, I agree. "Wesker....you're pitiful!"
@@edd_TV
The voice acting in the original was so bad it went full circle into to being good lol
Re5 Wesker: "I have uruborus!"
Re4R Wesker: *high pitched voice* "Toodaloo, hello boys!"
Literally this! It's so weird and unlike him! We need D.C Douglas!
I personally think it doesn’t matter. A little back story in the form of files or other type of media that can be found in-game should suffice. (Meaning I don’t see the need for them to
Make CV first, but whatever) my example is RE6.
I still think that CV is the last classic RE game that NEEDDS a remake! I mean, its a necessity at this point.
There are rummors that Capcom is working on 3 RE games
Resident Evil 9
Resident Evil Zero Remake
Resident Evil Code Veronica X Remake
and also Resident Evil 1 Remake (but this is from a less reliable source)
Very exciting if true! I do find it hard to believe they would pursue a 1 remake, but I would love to see it.
@ personally I would like this release order
1.RE 1 remake
2.RE Zero Remake
3. RE CVX remake
4.RE 9
But we will probably get re 9 first and then remakes
@@michajamrozik9157 I think you're right. I think we will surely get an RE9 announcement before anything else!
@ maybe they will announce re 9 on the game awards
@@michajamrozik9157It's a good shout! I could see it happening.
Wouldn’t mind a trilogy with Wesker:
1, Code Veronica & 5.
But I’m good with just Code Veronica & 5. We’ll see. 5 is probably going to be amazing when it does get remade, btw.
I love the sound of that: The Wesker Trilogy. That is money right there. I really hope you're right. I want 5 to be so good.
If you ask me: code veronica or re5.
Both can be even better with a remake.
For sure. I would be very interested to see what they would change with 5; none of the boss fights are particularly great so that could definitely do with a new coat of paint. Code Veronica would be massive in terms of a remake though, there is so much potential there.
RE1 I feel could use a remake with the new engine and it would be amazing! Then code V and then 5 so I line up with your opinion ha
I think so too! Glad to hear you feel the same way!
“Bio-organic weapons, known as BAO”
**releases arrow**
I found that weird to hear too! I've always called them B.O.W's.
I feel like they have the resources to make a remake of both 0 and 1 in the same game but separate campaigns.
My hot take: Wesker didn’t actually die at the end of re5
The dude plans for longer than 4 games and in re5 throws it all out the window. He probably cloned himself or something as a backup plan.
“Somehow Palpatine returned”? 👀
at least wesker returning makes more sense.
@@fadeddragon123 Very true.
RE0 has the most potential. A reworked story. Fully co op campaign. Fleshed out characters and Bravo Team members. Better item management and bosses.
After all, let's say you are a newcomer, from the RE engine era, you play 2 remake, play 3 remake and only on the fourth you have a glimpse of the true antagonist
By throwing them at CV would make them care less about Wesker, by how sudden he comes and disappears, while on the first game you could have way more idea on what you are dealing with, and probably be surprised when he reappears on CV.
After all, CV is mainly about chris rather than Wesker, and seeing him from nowhere and disappearing would leave people more like "ok, anyways" rather than "omg who is that mysterious person?"
In shorter words, 1 game should have the remake first (that won't happen unfortunately) then CV
The reason CV should receive a remake, isn't about Wesker, but because after 2, we got very well Leon's future on the fourth remake, it we didn't got a glimpse of what happened with Claire, so CV should be treated as sideline rather than main focus of the series.
I like the idea of resident evil 1 *remake remake* to have resident evil 0 remake as a dlc
I was thinking about this! I wonder what they would do for a DLC? 0 would be crazy good! They could tie them together so nicely. That's a great idea.
Please for the love of GOD don't make RE0 dlc
@@sugoi9680I don't think they would. I would be surprised! I think it would be a fully-fledged game.
@edd_TV I'm mean sure fine but the way you worded it sounded like we'll it was made in 2002, so it needs a remake that's what I was getting at
@@griggletv6974 Ah no, sorry!
I'm not so keen on his clothing. Where's the big badass black coat?! I'm totally with you on his voice. I wish they got D. C. Douglas back!
"Wesker despises Chris"
Also Wesker: "Chris, oh little fishy come see my hook"
@@frankkennedy6388 Yeah it's a really interesting look they've gone for. I really hope he busts out that iconic black coat for the 5 remake!
I feel like we're going to get RE9 next first, and if they're going to deal with the Wesker problem if audiences really want to know who the character is they should re-remake the first game
You might be right. It will be interesting to see where things go with 9!
Resident Evil 1 and 0 should be next, since in the canon RE timeline it's how everything begins for him and his vendetta against the world & Chris.
That and Resident Evil 1 was the first game of the franchise and also was the first RE game to get a remake.
Another interesting point somebody brought up is that the 30th anniversary is coming up. It would make a lot of sense that they did RE1 again for it!
I like the baked in campaign idea though !
Remake RE1 but not as a 1 for 1 copy. Instead we play the events from either Wesker or Barry's POV.
I would LOVE a game where we could play as Wesker. I'm sure Barry could do with some more love too!
Code veronica should have been before 3 case its actually 3. And it shows what happens to umbrella leading up to 4
I think they felt Nemesis was just a bigger draw. It was a shame it was so rushed.
I wish they had gone for the way he is in 5 but I suppose they wanted to try something different. It totally missed the mark for me personally though.
RE6 is definitely going to be a trip 😅
7 and 8 are great too!
Great call.
The real way to go is the Dino crisis remake🗿
Oh, and yeah, re5 need a remake, but shouldn't be the next remake in mind
I have shamefully never played Dino Crisis but the noise is insane for a remake. I hope they do it someday!
Is it wrong that I would like to play a version of the original Resident Evil that DOESN'T have fixed camera?
I don't think it's wrong! I think it's certainly iconic to how those games were played but I think if we saw a reimagining of it, it wouldn't work as well. I suppose that's what will really set apart a 'remaster' and a 'remake'; a remaster should ideally just be tidying up the game whilst keeping all of the core elements. A remake can allow a completely different spin on the game, from the way it's played to the narrative. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a good example of this I think.
I think a ZERO and 1 bundled Remake, followed up with CV, then RE5 would be the best move.
So many people have suggested this! It's a really interesting idea; the concept of an 'Alpha' Campaign and a 'Bravo' Campaign! It would really tie the games nicely together! I like your thinking. I very much agree with you!
Resident Evil 1 Remake and have Code Veronica or RE0 be a lengthy expansion.
@@thelivingshado5 Baking Zero and RE1 into one game would be a great idea. CV should remain a stand-alone I think.
@@edd_TV I agree
@@thelivingshado5 I think all games could change dramatically, but I think you're right about Zero being an expansion of sorts! It would be really at helping connect the story of Zero and RE1 better.
Maybe not RE6 but I wouldn't mind Jake Muller still getting implemented.
