Hi! That would be a personal preference. But if you don’t have a strong preference, I would recommend white if you read more during the day, and black if you read more at night. Because the dark mode looks better with the black frame, and the white doesn’t go as hot if you read under the sun. Thanks for the comment!
Which one is better in terms of responsiveness? Does libra color respond noticeably faster than libra 2? Which one offers a better reading experience for pure black text?
Hey! You may want to watch Part 1 of my video here th-cam.com/video/hQ-MUSONNa4/w-d-xo.html - it should answer your questions. It shows a comparison of how fast the loading of books and page turns are. It also shows which one has more crisp text and better contrast for reading under different conditions. In short, the Libra Colour is more responsive, but the Libra 2 is better for pure black text reading. Thanks for the comment and hope the linked video helps!
Read at arms length? I didn’t know that, maybe that’s why my eyes hurt sometimes? I got the Libra 2 and the brightness can be a bit much, but I am reading the Libra very close.
Hi! Yes I would recommend reading at arm’s length if possible. If you find it hard to read or the brightness is too strong, perhaps you can try increasing the font weight (as shown in this video) and also try increasing the font size. That should help with readability, and then maybe the brightness can be lowered. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes!
Hey, thanks for the question! I haven't had any issues with battery life for either devices. But I also use a pretty low brightness most of the time at less than 20%. We use them every night and probably have to charge once every 2-3 weeks.
Hi! If I’m understanding your question correctly, there is currently no settings to only use black & white on the Kobo Libra Colour. If you have books that has coloured covers or any colours in them it will show the colours. The screen quality will still be the same as shown in the video even if you have all black & white books on the device. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
If you want to use only BW, I would suggest getting the device that works only in BW not Colour. Simply because of color "coating" (don't remember the right name for it) you may need to use the glow light all the time because the image/screen is way darker which may lead to eye strain. And utilizing the glow light will affect battery life.
Yup it’s definitely darker when compared to B&W only e-readers. Definitely need to up the brightness a bit more. Hope they’ll improve on this in the future!

the question is black or white model of Libra Color?

Very useful, thank you. I was set on getting a color reader, but after researching more, it seems that they’re not quite „that good“ yet.

Nice video, is it possible with the Kobo Libra 2 to underline portions of text instead of highlighting them?
Hi, thanks for the question. You can only highlight on both the Kobo Libra Colour and Libra 2 (no underline).
How do you think about the battery life vs libra2? My colour is using 50% backlight the battery lose fast

@@jiureviews mine using 50% a night around 2hours, it drains 10% battery, now observe it, thank you for your reply!
Are covers for kobo libra 2 compatible with the kobo libra colour?
No, the two have different dimensions and require their own covers. Thanks for the question!
Thanks you so much!
I want to buy the kobo libra colour but i have a question. even if i buy, can i still use it in black and white settings?

In dev mode you can turn on dark mode well it's called 'invert colors'
The color version screen is too dark.
Yup it’s definitely darker when compared to B&W only e-readers. Definitely need to up the brightness a bit more. Hope they’ll improve on this in the future!

Color Eink is just a flop
Definitely room for improvement. Let’s hope it gets better over time!
