i completely agree with you on the battery life. like why are these youtubers worrying so much about the battery on ereaders when our normal high-tech devices have to be charged every day?? one week of battery is more than enough
I just got mine and I love it so much more than my kindle paperwhite! So well designed, not heavy or awkward to hold for long periods of time, easiliy migrated my amazon libary via calibre to it and did get the stylus and love annotating with it.
I totally agree with you about having an e-reader just to read books on, you have phones iPads etc for all those other things, for me my Kobo and before that my kindle were and are just for reading books.
I know, right!? I did try to substitute my old e-reader with my new tablet for a month or so, but I would get distracted by apps and social media so quickly. Having a device that doesn't have any of that on it just feels so much better for my focus. :)
I’ve gone from a Kobo Elipsa 10.3/Pen to a Pocketbook 10.3 colour/Pen. older, so I appreciate having the extra screen size. I wanted colour and I almost bought the same Kobo as you, but again….older and eyes. I either take my Kobo with me into dialysis or an iPad 12.9. having the ability to carry thousand’s of books is priceless. And although I’m medically retired from being a technician I still keep up with chemistry/biochemistry/pharmacology. By the way, it seems as if you have similiar tastes in fiction to myself. I strongly recommend the newish Stephen King book; Holly. I totally get what you mean by having the colour covers brightening up the day. I’m looking forward to reading colour graphic novels (comics). Tom
Hey! I had to stop and say hi to a fellow "uses e-reader during medical appointments" warrior. I don't know what I would do without mine! I have a lot of infusions, and at my worst times, I'm admitted for treatments. It means I can just grab one device and still take my entire library with me. I hope your dialysis is working as well as it can. Take care! And thanks for the Holly request. I just looked her up...she was my favorite character in the Mr. Mercedes series, so I literally just purchased it. :)
Ughhhh I should really stop watching your videos, I really want one now. Hope you're having a good time in nursing school! My sister is in college and my mom already has her degree but they both mention how hard it is. My sister has only had one round of clinicals though so we'll see what happens after she does more. Good luck!
I apologise for making it harder to fight the urge... I really do love my new Kobo and can't stop telling people about it haha. Oh wow, sending love to your mom and sis from one nurse to another, it is deffo testing. I have just 4 weeks left to go, and then I am a registered Mental Health Nurse (Psychiatric Nurse in other parts of the world). Thank you for watching :)
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your opinions from the perspective of an average reader! I've been trying to make a decision on whether or not to get it, but a lot of reviews like you mentioned end up focusing on a lot of tech details that I don't necessarily care about. This was super helpful in making my final choice on it :)
You're so welcome. This comment genuinely made me very happy because I too was bogged down with a lot of tech jargon when I was researching before I got my own. Some of the reviews spent more time filming book covers than talking about the reading experience. While I love the color on the covers, I don't often sit down to read and stare at a book cover for 30 minutes, lol. I hope you enjoy your device :)
I picked up a Metapen M2 and it works perfectly with the Libra Colour! It was only $30, not sure what that converts to in pounds, but it’s over half price from the Kobo stylus for me.
Thank you for the review. I’m thinking of getting one in January. Treat myself through it. I listen to books on my phone being dyslexic. Are used to have a kindle that looks better. 📕📕📕👍
Hi, thanks for watching! You should deffo treat yourself to an e-reader. I am not dyslexic, but I do have dyslexic family members and friends who I supported during our Nurse Training together...an e-reader gives you lots of ways to enhance the reading experience :D. I have also had many Kindles too, they are great-looking devices :)
Love UK accents, Americans (me) so boring...lol I just subscribed to your channel. As you can get cheapers stylus just research just ordered my Kobo Libra Colour a few days ago! . It is $219.99 in the US . Now I have to transfer allmy Kindle books. I know i can use calibre to transfer.. I also read a lot of Sarah Maas books her books are over 700 pages. I also have Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis. I am excited about switching to Kobo and started using Libby. I loved your video! I love the library intergration too. I should be getting mine in three days. So freaking excited! Cheers! xx
I was debating myself for about 2 weeks whether to buy this Kobo, the Clara Colour or the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. For my Birthday, I received a Kindle Scribe which ended up returning because it was too heavy and uncomfortable to read, so ended up with about $400 credits. I finally decided to buy the Clara Colour, only because this one and the libra have the same specs and I wouldn't be using the stylus as much, so decided to spend those extra dollars on books, instead of a pen.
I never said kindle can't view pdfs and ebooks? My issue is how over complex it is to get a ebook on a kindle that you haven't purchased from amazon without it playing up in someway. My kobo has basically been drag and drop, which is what I want. Also, I hate using PDFs on any device in general aha they're too clunky

finally normal review of this device.
Glad I could be of service 😁
Although I ended up returning mine, I loved that textured background. It was so much easier to hold without a case than the smooth Kindle.

wow thanks for this, I am going to check it out
Any microsoft surface pen works ! Check if it has 4096 pressure sensitivity , and it should work.
Yay!
Ah, okay. Thanks for this. I shall begin my research! One of my following videos may document my ongoing search. Thanks again!
I just got the Libra Color loving it so far. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the Kindle Scribe ?

Do you know you can put screensaver to your kobo if you create a screensaver folder in the .kobo folder on the device.

Can you change the weight of fonts? i.e. boldness
Yes you can :)

Sounds like you made a wise choice. Plus, with the leftover book money, you'll be covered for the rest of the year and beyond. Happy reading!
i can use pdfs and e books on my kindle 👀 and its an old kindle. i got it in 2015😅
