Interesting, tested on my Clara color and work, have the menu. But can't really see a huge differences between all settings. Would be great to have info on what every setting does.
Is there a video that talks about the all the dev options and what they do? Would like to know what which ones correspond to the stylus/sketch features
Ohhh, skip does still render thumbnail color, but full screen is B&W. That said, on a colorized, scanned PDF, I seem to have trouble getting it to update the screen when I change pages when it's set to skip. I have to force a refresh by tapping on the menu then making the menu go away. It also doesn't seem to increase the resolution, which I was ultimately hoping for
UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: If y'all cant find the multiple pages in settings is because there aren't like this. It's still ONE page like normal but the last options say : Developer options. After clicking there you will find the 4 pages like the video
I can't see my highlighter options when I try to change it in the book menu options. i click on the pen tool in there and only see pen options not highlighter. can some one help me turn this feature back on?
This works. Does anyone know if it is possible to have the device startvwith the portrait image the “right way round” when the device is held with the larger bezel to the left? Left-handed me gets the image initially upside down until I flip the device.
basically i never can use devmode i tryied a lot of times and also i delete everything many times and now the experience itself is worst to the touch...
I thought S would mean saturation and G would mean gamma, but that doesn't seem entirely right. S looks higher contrast and G looks like combinations of saturation and low contrast.
We didn't want to say anything to clarity because it was all speculation. We didn't know if es meant saturation, sharpness, speed, etcetera Same with G equaling gamma, So we chalked it up to just those being internal terms for their company
Is changing the color safe? I've read from reddit some people are opening their device and change some configuration just to enhance the saturation. I left mine at g2 btw
We have explored pretty extensively when it comes to the color change. It does seem that the color change is relatively safe. But what we would recommend is do not touch the "waveform controller"
This seems to no lonher work. On my new Libra color, I do exactly as you 'said', and also exactly as you 'did' (which were two different things - At 29 seconds you say to go the homescreen, but you show going to Mybooks). Neither one works. It says 0 results found.
Is it safe to change the Waveform Mode to GLRC16? I just ask because you said in an earlier comment to not change/touch the Waveform Controller and I'm not sure if you meant the Waveform Mode in saying that because I cannot see anything saying "Waveform Controller". I am on G2 btw and I love it. Thank you for the video!
Hello. I’ve got the Clara bw and I’ve tried this just out of curiosity. I also have the ability to enable stylus on the device. If it’s turned on do you think a stylus might work ? I don’t have any one at home to try that.
Because the use of a stylus requires an additional physical digitiser to be added to the display stack, I don't believe it would work on the Clara as it doesn't contain that bit of hardware. I don't have a tablet to check myself though.
100% it will not work as there is no digitizer layer connected inside the stack It is simply a blanket developer mode but yes, the above comment is correct, you will have to have a physical attached layer that can digitize the pen in order for it to work which the BW does not have
Great review. Devmodeon works. I can feel the saturation increases at G2, but too much for my liking. Color will start to bleed when showing Nat Geo Magazine. Question, is there option to force content to Black and White? It may sound weird, but some content are not constrasty enough, text-wise, in color mode.
This does work 100% as you can clearly see that we did it in the video we filmed and uploaded This wasn't a farce you type it in, press go, and then you just go out and then go to the settings menu Typing it in and pressing enter does not LEAD you to the settings menu. It simply triggers the settings menu to display developer mode Follow the video as we have laid it out, and you will get there in the end. Please let us know if you have any questions :-)
@@goodereader can confirm, followed the video and it worked. G2 makes my covers pop more which I like when scrolling the book store library. Read novels only, but a great aesthetic change! Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I changed mine to G2 and colors look much more vivid.

Is there a way to make it where you can ONLY change the page with buttons?
Lol, I spoke too fast. Change the CFA mode to "skip" to make it black and white.

Does changing it drain the battery more?
Which color mode is the nicest in your opinion?

Why is CPU1 not enabled? Does that mean it only run with single core by default?
Anyone know what the ink throttle option does? I turned mine up to 90% assuming it would make things look better

@@goodereader thanks for telling. I am only interested with the color enhancement

Still works for me. Seeing “0 results found” is normal. You can see that in this video too, for a few brief frames at 0:40.
Yes, just search 'devmodeon' and then go to the settings. There is not supposed to be any result in the search.
Thank you, I am loving the G2 modes also!

Thank you! Any setting can make a better result when reading in black and white? ❤
Just got my KLC for Black Friday and this does not seem to work. Thoughts?
same i tried but settings didn't change. did u resolve it?
@ValyShamandalie Not yet.
You dont explain what wave form does as you have your set to GLRC16, and G2. you only show what the GFA does
I got the BW version of the Kobo Clara. Would that make any difference? I find the screen needs more contrast.
This doesn't work! Searching devmodeon simply returns a no results screen.

Yes, it will show "no result"
But go to the setting, developer mode is there.
@@armands672 correct, that is what we showed in the video

Same here. In UK and "0 results not found" Have updated firmware so possibly a lockout or just the usual United Kingdom killjoys strike again.
