The table legs are SO MUCH CUTER as single cube tables!!! I liked them as the legs, but I LOVE them as little cubes!! Your thrift finds were all SO good! That table cloth is everything. I'd def find a place for that painting or print. I wonder if you could DIY some kind of weather-proof frame to hang it in out on the balcony.
I agree! We stayed at a rental condo which had cubes like this which we could either use as side tables or put together as a coffee table. I would love to have them in my home.
When you have to rebuild one side of your house because of water damage you then embrace all options for avoiding future water damage! Also, the Austin and Roshy team up was delightful. And Becky comes through with her wonderful sense of style. Looks great!
Love how functional this feels. Like it's beautiful and stylish, but I can actually see people sitting and hanging out here, not just taking aesthetic pics and then moving all the decor out of the way. Another great redesign! Love that the tiles still found a place to live too!
I'm so glad Becky talk briefly about the sustainability reasons for the tape because, sometimes...Sustainability means leaving mother nature take a break😅
I love love love this deck! You guys did a fantastic job! One suggestion-- sacrifice the tablecloth to make cushions for those white chairs. They really need at least bottom cushions.
We bought our picknick table many years ago(over 20). We have periodically treated it with a wood sealer that is water and weather proof. When we drove by the place we purchased it, the other tables were still sitting out end of season and so warped they were unusable. Ours is still going strong despite being used on occasion for a saw horse and other purposes.
It's truly impressive seeing the MASSIVE progress in Becky from the early days of SG to this day! She seems so much more confident, the projects look like proper builds and often even high architecture and not so much DIY crafts (let's be honest, sometimes it was all vision, no skill). Her humor and tone of voice is more natural and confident, so pleasant to listen to. A mark of a happy person comfortable being themselves. Watching her growth is endlessly inspiring. Thank you for all the information and tips regarding finishes and materials!
I absolutely love watching old videos of TH-camrs and seeing how they have improved their skills over the years. It's so cool to be able to actively watch their improvements throughout the years and know that you are capable of that level of improvement too. It's so easy to see the current, nicely polished version of a TH-camr and feel like you could never be that good and get disheartened. But they all started from somewhere and watching older videos really shows that the only thing you need to do to get to that higher skill level is the time and commitment to improving the skill. And then suddenly the highly polished current videos feel aspirational instead of disheartening, because their journey has been documented and you can grow along with them!
I’m glad you shared that the picnic table was important to Austin. I find them uncomfortable and not a vibe, but it is so cool that he wanted that and you compromised like you said. ❤ I love the final result.
Becky, I just love your beautiful heart and Soul. You are the Real deal young lady ❤ The back patio looks Amazing!! Thank God for Austin and Rochelle, they helped out So Much and are amazing people in their own way... Love them Both ❤️ I think you and Austin should have your own DIY show.. I love the way that you and Austin are So Amazing together and love Austin's sense of humor... You all did such an incredible job on the patio and Becky you always have such an amazing Vision on how a space should look. You always stay true to yourself and what you see in your designs and I really appreciate that... I love the deck, the picnic table, which is very vintage as it has been around for decades. So great call by Austin ✌🏼 I love the way that you completely transformed the umbrella and the color is Perfect!! Love the fringe that you added also, SO GOOD!! And what a score at the thrift store... The blanket, the covering of the table, which I really love the colors, they are Beautiful ❤️ And then you scored those 1960's chairs😯🥰🥰🥰 So amazing.... Everything came together Beautiful Becky.. Well Done young lady ❤️
To Austin: I do believe in aliens but in a kinda boring way. The universe is huge so considering the numbers they HAVE to exist. If they're here? That I don't know.
That buttery yellow blanket is a "frazada" and goes under the comforter, traditionally in latin america i would say several countries don't use the same composition in making a bed as in the usa. It's warm and thick so we use more of those in the winter time Also i loved how it turned out!!♥
I think the way the bed is made is regional here in the United States because I've always had blankets like that to add or remove based on the weather. Mine weren't wool when I was a child but I've upgraded since becoming an adult.
Love this! Don’t be guilty about going to IKEA because the vintage 60’s white chair actually ended up matching the daybed/lounge. I love everything in the space! I would definitely wanna hang out here and lounge out in the summer sun.
I love your style, your audacity, your family. What an amazing space. I loved original, yet this seems more you, and knowing it’s brand new, somehow makes it everlasting.
Becky! You smashed it! Genuine amazement on how you so easily turned your old DIY table into a new DIY table! Also, merch idea? I don’t know about anyone else but over the years of watching y’all, “mix until a peanut butter consistency.” is oddly soothing and makes me feel right at home. I probably sound crazy but it feels like a warm hug and to me is iconically SorryGirls! ❤
Hi Becky, the satin trim on your blanket is called blanket binding. It comes in TONS of colors and you can buy it at joannes fabrics or online. My grandma and I used to trim all the baby blankets we made with that. Gorgeous and so soft and comfy!
Omg, please tell me that Becky also picked up the side table that matched those vintage chairs?!?! I didn't see it anywhere, but it'd be such a shame to break up that amazing original set!
The way I was so skeptical of the umbrella dying and fringe and was immediately put in my place because that is absolutely gorgeous!! I also love the red tile cube upcycle I’m stunned by this makeover!!
One of my faves by you Becky!! Your patio turned out so fabulously, it's all pulled together so well. The space, the function, the repurposing, the creative solutions, the friend comrade, the colors, the styling, ugh - everything! *chefs kiss* 🤌🏻 You guys all have such unique lovely styles that complement each other well (love!), but i am always drawn to your funky retro style the most. I suck at decorating my place - I have your makeover course and can't wait to one day utilize it. My favorite bits of the sorry girl vids is the thrift store shopping and seeing y'all pick something up I never would have thought to. When I see it in your hands it's like an a-ha! moment and the vision is there.
G'day Becky, The aussie timber oil is absolutely the correct colour. Jarrah - eucalyptus marginata, or Swan River Mahogany, is part of the Myrtle family, and is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It's regarded as a hardwood timber, and exactly that reddish orange colour. The fragrance of the freshly cut timber is amazing. As a hardwood it's used for all sorts of construction, and at one time, was favoured for outdoor furniture and garden structures such as fencing, gazebos and percolas. Many years ago mum built a "bush-hut" style green house out of Jarrah, and it was still standing when she sold the house about 15 or so years later. It used to be cheap as chips but it's got quite exy $$$ now...🥴 Cheers from Oz, 🙃🐨🇦🇺
I have just 1 of those rocking swivel chairs from the 60s and I LOVE it. It’s not my usual style but it has already lived a lifetime and will last me mine. I found it for $20 bucks and it’s worth $600 so you definitely scored on the set. I made a cushion for it and it is my favorite spot to sit outside, so comfy.
Fab! You nailed it! I really enjoyed this video . . . life is all about art and hard work. Design is everything Using pre-loved items is the way forward.
AMAZIIINNNGGG and I LOVE The tile tables split, they're so flipping cute. Love the DIY saved umbrella, Loving vintage textiles and furniture. Great work Sorry Girls (and Boy!)
Hi Becky! I began Gr 1 in 1969 so I grew up in the Seventies. Your Seventies house renos are so fun to watch - they’re wonderful time travel moments for me. Some of your rooms have major parallels to my eldest sister’s decor - she was really stylish- so you’ve nailed the vibe beautifully! My mom had several store-bought blankets with the satin edging. Maybe they added that trim so it would bind the raw edges with something smooth. I used to rub the edging against my cheek as I fell asleep. 😍. 👋🏻 from NB 🇨🇦!
You’re amazing at DIY-ing! I also can’t stop staring at Danny every time he appears on camera. PLEASE make a full video that’s just Danny doing things - I would watch that video so hard. On repeat.
Becky, you are such an inspiration to me.I love how you use re.Purposed things to decorate your home and. It gives me all kinds of ideas and hope that one day I may have my own home and be able to do the same thing
Oh wow that deck is so beautiful and looks so much more sturdy. so amazing you dyed that umbrella cover, and when you first put it up it was alot darker closer to purple, now it's lighter but still nice looking and that frindge is so cool looking. It was so awesome that you had Rochelle come and help you start on the new deck. I like that pot you got and so sad that it has that crack, that is usually why they are taken to those thrift stores, I would put some super glue on the inside to secure it from breaking more and keep any water from coming out. Thanks again Becky for this great video that was so much fun watching, have a beautiful and blessed rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂🥰🤗🙏🙏👍💜💜💜
Love this episode as always! A word of caution about the wool blanket, a lot of vintage machine wool blankets were treated with toxic chemicals to keep moths away. Not sure if this is the case in Canada but good to check. We had to toss loads from my grandma because of this
the space looks so good, UGH. If you have the other old leg that matches the one you cut, you could flip those brackets and make a plant stand. like take all four brackets and attach them to the inside close to the top so all of them L into the center of the leg and then you can place a pot on them like a lil shelf. that's probably confusing lol. you guys crushed this!
I can’t believe it’s been so long since your last deck styling! I remember that video and watched it right as it came out. Here we are again and amazing job on your deck AGAIN! Great work :)
You work well together it’s wonderful to see your relationship and how tight it is! Sorry Girls is one of my favorite things to do! Your porch concepts were awesome and it worked out beautifully
So pretty!! I hope the chairs from the previous deck makeover went to good use because WOW those were just beautiful. Loving the new vintage chairs as well, I could even see adding some 70s floral patterned cushions to them. Which reminds me, that table cloth is such a gem!!😍 What an awesome turn out with so many great finds.💛 Thank you for giving so many items a second (or more) life..
Girl I have OG original cushions that go to those vintage patio chairs. My parents have had them and the chairs my whole life. I love what you did to the umbrella with the fringe it screams my childhood.
Wow that was the coolest space! That was a great DIY with the planter too! Those vintage chairs you got, 😍 definitely the right choice they are gorgeous
Great space! Looks like an inviting place to gather. I _would_ make some cushions for the vintage chairs, though, because that metal pattern engraved in the ol' behind after sitting in them for 20-30 minutes isn't actually all that fun to deal with, and it's very in keeping with the seventies look.
I recently rebuilt my deck (ocean view) and I specifically requested a slight grade so water doesn't pool on the deck after it rains. I like the slight slope. Works a treat!
Love the makeover! It got me inspired. So smart to think of dying your umbrella material. Good job. Those vintage chairs? I want them! The wool blanket confuses me though. Wool is itchy, and if it gets wet, it's heavy and sometimes smells. And once wet, then you have find a place or way to dry it. I have some vintage wool blankets from my grandma, so I speak from experience. It is a cool find. I would invite myself over frequently, if we were friends, just to sit on your balcony!
Hey, I'm not Becky but I am absolutely sure the wool blanket doesn't stay outside permanently. Becky probably keeps it indoors and takes it outside whenever they are spending time on the deck or have people over in good weather.
Those wool blankets with the satin trim were standard when I was growing up. Everyone had them. I have a love hate relationship with them. They were super warm and I loved the satin edge, but the wool was like an army of vicious attacking shards on my skin. They gave me horrific rashes. I hope yours is softer lol. But, the colour is perfect. Those rocking swivel chairs … what a find!! It all looks great. As always, love to see how creatively you reuse what you already have.
The satin "trim" is a binding so the edges of the blanket don't fray. It also keeps the wool away from your face while you sleep. And you were supposed to sleep with a cotton sheet between the wool blanket and your skin.
If you are talking about aliens on Earth, then no. If you are talking about aliens somewhere in Space, then definitely yes ! That was my personal note on aliens. 👽👾
Same! I think it would be waaaay too egocentric/narcissistic to think we are the only planet who managed to be able to create life in the whole big universe (even if is just something akin to microbes). That being said, if there’s intelligent life out there I think is again too egocentric/narcissistic to think they would be interested in us so…
I love the mod floral fabric and the repurposed tile tables! I feel like you could DIY some colorful patterned cushions for the vintage chairs for added comfort and style 😊 plus the other part of the tile table legs would make such a cute DIY planter!!
"It's a little lighter now because there's a hole in it" 😂
heheh
I was thinking it might be easier to build it up there! 😂😂😂
Right? 😂 I just about spewed coffee through my nose! 😂
Austin is the bomb. 😂
Omg I came to say this too! Austin is hilarious!! Love it
I love that you dyed your umbrella cover rather than just getting a new one! 👏🙌🏽👏
DIY forever! ❤
Don’t use that pot for food
But I love the DIY 😎
Very cool!
@@biiaarevalooor the wooden spoon!

They looked great -- and I definitely like them better as smaller tables than a leg for a high top.
I love how becky literally makes over the whole house and Austin is like : all I want is a picknick table 😂
Picnic
When you have to rebuild one side of your house because of water damage you then embrace all options for avoiding future water damage! Also, the Austin and Roshy team up was delightful. And Becky comes through with her wonderful sense of style. Looks great!
Rochelle & Becky never fail to impress me with their diy skills. GIRL BOSS!
heck yeah!
No qualifier need - BOSS!
love that it's not overaccessorized and will actually function outside without having to bring in and out a ton of stuff every time you use the space
More becky content! Love to see everything 70s - 60s, retro and mcm!! ♡
we love a retro makeover! 🥰
Love how functional this feels. Like it's beautiful and stylish, but I can actually see people sitting and hanging out here, not just taking aesthetic pics and then moving all the decor out of the way. Another great redesign! Love that the tiles still found a place to live too!

I love love love this deck! You guys did a fantastic job! One suggestion-- sacrifice the tablecloth to make cushions for those white chairs. They really need at least bottom cushions.
YES - use the tablecloth to make seat cushions for the 60s chairs !!!!!
I agree. She could go thrifting for some vintage fabric (or cushions that would fit the seats of the chairs) and DIY some cute cushions.

Thank you universe!!!
To Austin: I do believe in aliens but in a kinda boring way. The universe is huge so considering the numbers they HAVE to exist. If they're here? That I don't know.
I think the same! The universe can't be barren, it's too big for life to only exist here.
It only makes sense, right?
I say it all the time, too.
I am skeptical of any being here, but agree that somewhere in the universe are other living beings. Probably many different types of living beings.
THIS!! there is no way we are the only plant with life!! we haven’t discovered all of space yet… kinda hurts my brain thinking about it lol

very specific but the yellow blanket reminds me of Franklin the turtles blanket. when I saw it I had such a childhood memory of wanting his blanket 😆

My grandmother gave me a soft wool blanket with a silky trim when I was very small and I loved that thing to pieces.
Such a wonderful balcony!! It looks so good!!
Love it! I would love to see the couch recovered in funky fabric :)
The patio couch or the orange/brown striped one inside her house? I like the orange one, but that pattern doesn't do anything for me style wise.
Yay you splurged, so beautiful and way more the style of the space.
👽 Yes to aliens! I refuse to believe we are alone in the universe. 👽
Same! I think it would be waaaay too egocentric/narcissistic to think we are the only planet who managed to be able to create life in the whole big universe (even if is just something akin to microbes). That being said, if there’s intelligent life out there I think is again too egocentric/narcissistic to think they would be interested in us so…
Your style is just impeccable Becky! I love this so much 😍
Great score with that material with the fringe for a tablecloth. Really tirs it all together.
I love the mod floral fabric and the repurposed tile tables! I feel like you could DIY some colorful patterned cushions for the vintage chairs for added comfort and style 😊 plus the other part of the tile table legs would make such a cute DIY planter!!
Beckie & Austin, the patio looks fantastic! Enjoy it in good health.😊
