It was said of Paganini, in his time that: "he's in league with the devil" (referring to his incredible virtuosity). Denis is the Paganini of our time. Although I doubt that he's "in league with the devil" ----- I don't think the devil would know a flute if it bit him in the @##.
The flute seems like the perfect instrument to play La Campanella with. Combined with an oboe for lower melody and two clarinets for running notes and accompaniment you get the perfect La Campanella quartet.
Wasn't Paganini a violinist? There have been many traditional allusions to the violin being the "devil's instrument". Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens is a classic example of playing on that idea.
shirokurobara You are correct! But many people want to play his beautiful compositions on their instrument, or a separate arrangement is made for other instruments for an orchestra or symphony.
