How to get 120hz on a 60hz TV

- I was playing on some first-person shooters and was frustrated my 4K TV only did 60hz but my FPS in-game was over 150-200, so I messed about and found a way to get it to work at 120hz
Im using a PC with Nvidia graphics card on a Philips 4K 43PUS7805/12 TV
It may possibly work with other makes on TV's and Xbox Series X/Ps5

here on my end, I do have a Sony Bravia with a default 60hz. Now I am gaming on 4k at 120hz
My CPU specs:
Ryzen 3 3200g
GTX 1060 6gb
16gb ram

How does your TV even have enough bandwidth for 4k 120hz?
How are you running 4K anything with a Ryzen 3 and a 1060
@@Kyle_Be_Bussen1426 it does run but fps on games isn’t that optimal. Going low on all game graphic settings does the trick

I was able to get up to 136hz. Anything higher and the resolution gets jumpy. What is weird though is sometimes my TV display will say 1hz higher when it refreshes than what I set the PC as I'm seeing how high I can go to and other times it will say 50hz even though the displayhz website will show what the PC is currently set to. Also, despite 136hz being ok (so far); my TV display will show blank hz (like this: - - hz) when going past 126. Fingers crossed this all works and I don't damage anything.

Of course I didn’t quite push it to the full 120hz sitting at 110hz to slightly feel safe about it.

I cannot get my 4k60philips tv to even push for 1080p75. it can do 1080p120 and it says that in the settings and its confirmed by ufo test. but with the frame skipping checker it even jumps frames on 75 and it feels slower then on 60. any ideas?
same here i have 4k lg tv and in nvidia control panel i choose 1080p 120hz and it feels more responsive and a little smooth but it's not quite real 120hz because i already had 3 144hz moniters and i can confirm that this is not real 120hz (120fps) gameplay

Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B. Its advertised panel refresh rate is 200Hz - I think because of its IFC (Intelligent Frame Creation) feature - but all of its HDMI connectors can only be fed with 60Hz max by default. Would it be safe to "overclock" this nearly 12 years old TV?

Om samsung 4k monitor it doesen’t work after restart and on that Settings “list all Moses “ it turned automaticly in 60hz again
My philips can push at least 125 hz is there a danger when doing so?

i O/Clocked my TV 60ghz to 85ghz was 60fps now in BF5 shows 85fps i had it set up at in game was doing 120 / 150 FPS
cant figure out geforce ? nvidia in game WTF i had the settings at PC reloaded win10 and lost it all resetting it back again
Just glad i save all the Gaming tips in a youtube file re set most back . took snap shots also and save in spare folder does work havent pushed it to 100ghz yet mite try L8tr ?

60hz screen will not got to 120hz doesnt matter what the setting says it is😅
Darn, the tests failed for me :') even going up by 1 hahaha guess my TV just cant cut it beyond 60
But what if i have a GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER and it goes to 4k x 2k, 4096 x 2160 and i have 16gbs of ram an amd ryzen 5 gen 2600 6 core processer and its on skytech gaming pc and still cant play warzone on my 50inch Samung tv i spent so much i dont have anymore money and i cant play it bc i wont have enough for a gaming monitor and i have one in mind and i need help i cant get it😭😭😭😭

Thank you dude everything's work great I got my TV to 77 Hz But when I overclock it The screen got bigger than The actual TV And I try To realize it Through Nvidia Control panel But The Option Was close So yeah any help please ☹️☹️
Makes sure the TV is set to 1920 × 1080 resolution and 16.9 aspect ratio.

On Windows 10 you need to right click mouse on the desktop and find it that way.

I tried mine on some other cables once appeared 75 in TV menu I can't seem to find if connected on HDMI

You can try it should be the same principle as an Xbox.I turned the 4K and HDR off and ran it in 120htz mode.some TV's you have to turn the Enhanced HDMI option off.

PS5 is 120hz compatible. But you would have to turn the 4K off and maybe play around with the HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)

Me having an xbox knowing this wont work....
It worked on my Series X by turning 4K and HDR off and running it at 120htz.
Some TV's you have to turn the Enhanced HDMI option off.
Will this work if I use my PC to OC my TV and then plug my PS5 and play. Is it only OCed when pc is running?
