Mulan did what she did out of a sense of responsibility … she did it because her father was too old to fight and she couldn’t risk losing him. It was an act of nobility and courage. I agree with Cinderella’s case … she never tried to defend herself.

7:45 BELLE DOES NOT HAVE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME!!! SHE WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE HIS CASTLE AFTER HE SCARED HER BUT WAS STOPPED AND ATTACKED BY WOLVES HE ALSO FELT GUILTY FOR DOING THAT TO HER AND SO HE SAVED HER! THAT’S WHY SHE CHOSE TO COME BACK AND EVEN THEN SHE LEARNED TO STAND UP TO HIM!
Cinderella doesn't agree with the way she is treated. But she doesn't see a way out of situation. Note that it has been for years like that. The situation I mean. Plus, I doubt that her 3 tormentors would let her go out and or speak with other people in order for her to get help. And if she told someone of the situation she was in, the 3 would say that she is lying and I don't see a way to actually prove that she is not. And don't forget, at least the stepmother has higher status and wealth, she would need to be taken out of the house by someone that the 3 tormentors can't say no to in any circumstances like the royal family or their representative. In short she acted against the wishes of the 3 tormentors when she thought that she had a chance of truly escaping them both physically and mentally. For years all she could do, in order to make her situation less bad was to please them.
My problem with the old Cinderella film is just stuff to do with the villains, and it Cinderella herself who is very well written. They just have such lame and pitiful motivations and are not gleefully evil like Maleficent or the Evil Queen from Snow White.
Ariel was a hoarder.
Rapunzel had Stockholm Syndrome.
Cinderella was an abuse victim, as was Snow White.
Tiana might be seen as a workaholic.
Elsa was agoraphobic- ashamed of what her abilities can do.

@@Puma_the_cat Based on facts. When we first meet Aladdin he was saved from losing his arm for stealing by Jasmine whom he thought was an attractive woman. He would be dead if not fpr magical wishes. He also wished his way into royalty to get a chance at Jasmine again. Only children look as these decisions and say that, thats what a good man, let alone king, would do. He only wished to become a prince because he couldnt outright with for her to be in love with him, which is sick. He does everything for the infatuation of a woman, she loves it, but what of the people? Both could care less. Bad king. One would have thought a wish could be for their wellfare as Aladdin of all people would sympatize with their plight.
