I know you were comparing the Yukon vs Denali but I think it's important to note that one of the biggest upgrades in the 2024 Acadia is that is has 3 seats in the back compared to only 2 in the 2023 Acadia. Great video. Thanks.
The Yukon’s driver seat just has way more travel in its adjustment. It is still way more spacious than an Acadia, but the new Acadia is greatly improved. They resemble each other nicely but still have their own distinct looks. GMC has knocked the packaging of these two out of the park!
@@Ryan2022 I totally agree with you- I recently rented a 2023 LT suburban with a 5.3. We drove 1600 miles to SLC and back to SD. Seats are just OK, lots of adjustments and firm.. but it didn’t blow me away with luxury-comfort.. I think GM could really make them a bit more cushy- but I also understand they place a priority on seat/vehicle longevity-
This 24 Acadia is getting more attractive by the day. I have a 2022 GMC 2500HD Denali gasser and I am already fed up with it. I think GM may have hit the mark on this new Acadia. GM priced practically everyone out of the market with the Yukon Denali and don’t get me started on the ultimate edition 🤦♂️
The Acadia lower trim is $45k and it’s well equipped. Few need a $63k Denali Acadia. You could buy two Acadia Elevation trims for the price of the Denali Yukon.
I bought the Acadia Denali w/ super cruise and drove from Florida to Indy, the best road trip ever, super fun and comfortable ride, I used hands free driving at least 75% of the drive. I would not have bought it if not a Denali, big difference!
I’ve always felt like the Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade is a bit short on legroom in the 2nd row- as a 6’8 driver anyone that sits behind me is not happy. There are a handful of SUV’s, PU trucks and long sedans that can accommodate my specific issue. Nice to see the Acadia (horrible name for a vehicle) makes 2nd row space a priority! It’s really more about the placement of the B pillar where the 2nd row seatbelt is tied into.
What are some of the cars that accommodate the 2nd row space for you? I’m 6’6 and running into trying to fit car seats behind me. We have a CX-5 that might make it a few more months before my son and I can no longer fold ourselves into the vehicle. I want this next purchase to last us awhile.
@@johnferguson5558- I checked out the Chevy version of the Acadia- I totally fit and had OK leg room behind my front seat adjusted position. Also the Kia Telluride (as well as its Palisade cousin) are EXCELLENT with rear leg and headroom- Ford Expedition and Ram 1500 have copious amount(s) of leg AND headroom. Btw- headroom is shrinking in so many brands because of the large panorama glass roofs- manufacturers love using them to simplify production- but it really steals headroom from us taller folks- I’m ordering a 2025 Yukon Denali sans the panorama sun roof, 3.0 diesel (LZO motor!) and supercruise- 28mpg- Good luck!
@@Jwdude123 it certainly makes life interesting- everything requires planning- even with things like buying a dress shirt, or an airline seat- you become very attention-to-detail capable! 😝
The new Acadia and Traverse looks amazing, especially the Acadia. Big upgrade aesthetically on the inside and out. I had a 2020 Acadia briefly, it was a solid vehicle. That said, I don’t think it comes close to a Yukon or Tahoe. Totally different price point and market imo. I recently bought a 2024 Tahoe RST. It’s simply amazing - the 5.3 and 10spd transmission is an incredible pair. I really don’t see any comparison to a Tahoe or Yukon.
Very good review and very helpful. Actually, my son bought an Acadia Denali for his wife and was thinking about a Yukon for himself. Since they are a family of 4, I thought he would enjoy seeing your comparison. I shared it with him. I definitely agree with your assessment and think the Acadia is the winner here. It seems to better the Yukon in most ways. Thanks for the video!
I traded in a 2023 Yukon Denali on a 2024 Acadia Denali. Saved 30% on payment, better gas milage and just as comfortable in my opinion. I really like both, and I am not disappoint in my decision to "down size" to the Acadia.
This was an amazing video, thanks JB! Super helpful, seems like the Acadia really got a massive overhaul of improvements. The second row also seems spacious enough. I do like the larger headroom, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $26K. Interesting the updated infotainment is going portrait instead of landscape, just like the Dodge Rams. I'm not sure I love that, but I'd like to see it in person first.
I have the 2024 Acadia Denali AWD. I got a few K off MSRP when I got it in June, so it was something like 67k OTD. It's only like 6 inches shorter than Yukon. I drive Yukon and Tahoe several times a month for work and I can say without a doubt the Acadia drives better and is more comfortable. I am very happy I went with the Acadia over the Yukon all day.
Great review. I'm currently comparing these two. The diesel engine is what has me on the fence. I really like the feel of a V8 VS a turbo 4. The torque on the diesel feels just as strong as a V8.
I just sold my 2023 Yukon Denali and purchased the 2025 Acadia Denali same interior you have there. I love the Acadia! My sons are 6’5” and 6’6”. My son says he has better head room than his brand new diesel Ram 2500.
@ the Yukon definitely is more spacious but we are not missing it because the legroom and headroom in the Acadia is amazing. I’m loving the Acadia. I can fit my giant sons and my two 100 pound dogs easily.
I think it would be a more accurate to measure leg room from seat back where your back would be to seat back where your knees would touch if that makes sense. instead of from the edge of the seat cushion to the seat back in front of you. just because all seat cushions are different lengths.
I think they missed a primo opportunity to make that Acadia hybrid. It's got good looks, it's got great power, it's got a great interior. If only it had a hybrid in it to get really great gas mileage. I feel that there are not enough mid-sized SUVs that are hybrids. That's where I feel like a lot of these companies would make great money.
Buyer beware! 3rd row electric headrests are failing on many of these. No parts available at this time. Seats won’t fold properly without the headrests down. Wait to purchase until this is resolved.
The Acadia has a little fart-can engine and sounds way underpowered. They failed on the powertrain, but it looks nice and premium. Same problem with modern Grand Cherokee.
Interestingly, enough, the EPA regulations are now more concerned with emissions than gas mileage. The manufacturers are in bed with the EPA. They conspire with them to screw the rest of us and they get away with it.
Seriously!! I’m so tired of these auto manufacturers constantly chasing fuel economy. That is not everyone’s concern, especially when you’re looking for a 3 row SUV.
This is a great video. I have the 2019 Acadia and was stunned by how much more feminine it is in comparison to the previous iteration. I'm not using feminine in the pejorative, it's noticeably smaller. I wonder if Cadillac will make a version of the new Acadia Denali.
Only under warranty. After that, all bets are off. With about $3-4 grand of upgrades I bet the Acadia could reliably push 550-600 horsepower to the wheel.
Theyve been close in size.. Acadia was same as Traverse and Enclave.. they shrunk for a couple years for some dumb reason. Just brought back to what it was originally designed to be. Its a car based large suv instead of Truck based. They need to make 2500 Yukons again
They seriously do need to make 2500 Yukons again. It’s unacceptable that no one makes them anymore. I hate it. Everything sucks now and isn’t built to last.
Shrinking the Acadia was one of the dumber moves in recent memory along with the redesigned Toyota Sequoia, which is a nightmare as far as usable rear space
@@josiahberry8743 I would 100% buy one if they keep pricing inline somewhere along how the 2500 trucks are to 1500s. Best comparison on the interner
The length and behind 3rd row is biggest difference. Solid work by GM
