- Today I try out steel seal on my rubbish d24 engine with a blown head. It’s a risk free experiment as they offer a full refund if it does not work. I don’t completely trust these treatments and Definetly wouldn’t rely on a vehicle with it having been done, however if it’s to prolong the life of an engine short term then I would recommend

This man is a true Legend.
Used that stuff in the attempt to fix leaking heater matrix on my vauxhall frontera 2.2dti first bottle fixed it for 6 month's then leaked again. Stuck a second one in and did the job permanently. Was suprised to find it caused no issues with the engine and the heater still worked fine
steel seal fixed my volvo d5 , ive done 500 miles now and not lost a drop of water
Hears an update 3 months and 2500 mile later the car still runs fine and does not loose a drop of water
Your a legend for a update
@@keithfromhawaii6600 ive done 5000 miles now and everything is fine
I used this stuff in a Isuzu trooper with suspect cracked head similar thing thought worth a go and its 2 years and at least 12,000 miles deep towing trailers etc aswell best of luck to your Ovlov!
Where's the Robin video gone?😂😂
Technical difficulties 😂
@@scottyfairno mint😂
I should have known about this stuff when I had my first 205.
The pub is the best place to figure out your car
1) Should first check to see if leak is to oil galleys. Is there yellowish/ brown sludge in the engine oil fill cap. If so ,.clean it out and reinstall.
2) should remove the thermostat, so
3) with engine cold, drain at least 1 gal of anti freeze, remove thermostat and pour steel seal in, then top off with new coolant,
4) start motor and fast idle , if need be put a piece of paper in front of radiator to help heat up.
5) after about 1/2 hour at normal operationing temp, shut engine off and let cool down.
6) drain enough coolant to reinstall the thermostat.
7) top off anti freeze, start and drive.
8) after about 500 miles, check engine oil fill cap for the Yellowish/ brown sludge. if none, probably good for a while.
9) check coolant level periodically.
10) if coolant is still disappearing but not leaking out, with engine cold remove spark plugs one at a time to see if traces of anti freeze .
11) if there are, you'll need a second application.
This is the most perfect time video. Thank you
3 or 4 uncooked eggs in a cold engine. some times it gets in the cracks and makes a weird hard resin. If you drive hard it wont stay nothing will. The egg trick usually kills the water pump bearing.
i used different brand " holts wondarweld " worked like a charm leak stopped and never came back 940 2.3l turbo
"Your car won't fix itself!"
The car:
i feel a Mercedes om603 swap coming on
What exactly does 'get the car up to temperature' mean? I ask because i'm going to try it on my car tomorrow, thanks.
Normal operating temp. Generally about 20°f past the temp' she's at when the thermostat opens.
Some lad to get a job done gotta love scotty
looking for the pinned commente...how many miles done so far?
Put in your Volvo 2.5 TDI 103kw engine.
best of luck !
this guy looks like he doesn't know his ass from his elbows but we'll see how that holds up
add a second bottle if it comes back lol
Cummins conversion when this engine dies?????
Used this stuff in my bmw 320i touring. 2 years and 15000 miles later (some of that towing a 21ft caravan) its still fixed. Not bad for 30 odd quid from Amazon 😂
Wow is this true lol as I am about to use some on my e92 335d
@@leifallen2358 yes. 100% true. Its just passed its Mot again now too (friday just gone) so im going to flush the cooling system and add fresh coolant and steel seal and hopefully get another two years out of it! 😁👍
How much does 1 bottle cost?
@@julemrlh9066 i got it direct from the steel seal shop on Amazon for £31.
£35 from Amazon £40 plus halfords
After 5 months is the engine still running?
I used this on my old red 1994 Volvo 850 estate in 2010 and sadly didn't work, hopefully it works for you for a while.
I think feds took him down
In first. What an absolute treat lads
My bet is it lasts 500 ish miles
So it's fixed forever
cris fix did this and it lasted for two years
What do you do for work?
Still going?
Very najs
keep the vids coming boss love them
Used this several times before always been successful
Has it always worked??
@@AliMohamed-ie9nb2 years ago i used it in my BMW 320i and it worked a treat. Its still fixed now 15000 miles later.
Its pretty good stuff in my view. It was my mechanic that to suggested i try it as it was a water jacket to piston leak and only appeared to be small as the indicator fluid he used to test for leak took a long time to change colour.
Sadly the stuff didn't work for my van but they did refund me! :D Crack on boss!!
How to refund sir please guide me thanks
Funny guy, great video 😂😂😂😂
update on my last comment, didnt work for me
oh well
bought an mg tf, surely that wont have any issues, right
lol
do you think this could seal a leak bewteen my water pump and timing case? cheers!
I did actually get a full refund from Amazon for this not working 😂
Can I ask if you drained and flushed your cooling system prior to adding the solution? I just ordered this product and I’m really hoping it does the trick
@@skywalker5thwrlddid yours work?
@@devoyup3650 fuck yea it worked! Wish I would have know about this before I rebuilt the motor on my last car smh!
@@devoyup3650 I do have to say though… you need to really flush the system BEFORE adding the solution or it won’t set up… idk where you live but if it isn’t frozen outside run the hose through your radiator and also take out your thermostat so you know the inner part of the engine is being flushed out too! I drained my system replaced with water, got it up to temp, parked and pulled the plug and repeated it 2-3 times before I added the solution just to be sure.
I used steel seal on my car, it blocked the radiator and heater matrix, the car overheated and killed the engine, never use this again.
You did not use it correctly then. I have done 8 cars with it now all have done over 10K miles since I did them and they’re still going
Yeah you didnt put it into a cool engine. I used this stuff 15000 miles ago and the car is fine. If it blows again i would prefer to just drain and refill the system and try new steel seal before i even consider getting a full repair.
@@johnnymacf1 it’s a saving grace if you do it properly i have done 8 cars one being my own and my car I have done 18K miles in it and it’s perfect. A week after doing it my thermostat blocked up but that’s because I didn’t take it out as reccomended after running the car for half an hour with the steel seal but for a £30 thermostat compared to £900 head gasket replacement it’s absolutely brilliant I don’t care what anyone says😂
@@loudonnelly2591 nice one. Though i have to be honest and say i didnt drain my system afterwards as i had to use the car to tow our caravan on holiday thr next day! So after 2 years its still in there! 🤣 laziness!!!🤣
Its not blocked or damaged a single thing though. Waterpump, thermostat, radiator and heater matrix's all work as they should.
Scotty🔛🔝
My water pump broke 50km after putting steel seal in my '08 tdi tiguan😅
I did a mechanical corse & our lecturer was a professor on the SAE bord that decides if oil is what viscosity & petrol octain veery smart man .he once told me you should get all additives dig a big hole & bury them .if it’s worn blown or broken no additives will help you have to fix it properly
He lied to you
There's a place on the a1 near Cambridgeshire that breaks all yhe old school volvos
Yo scotty great pub divert as if you left it running haha why the exhaust at front?
The king is back
Is it still going
Does it work, So Far? Sir!
you nead to build (yl)
3:36 🙂➡🤣
I need a volvo you have me sold 😂😂
Drop a C20XE redtop in there (Vauxhall, not volvo)
Better to put a B230 in it, better engine and can take stupid amounts of power.
@@liamholcroft7212 good point, i was taking the piss lmfao. imagine a B204 T
Steel seal does work but it can cause problems, I usually see it blocking thermostats and heater matrix's
When garages use it on shit boxes they usually tap off the heater and remove the thermostat.....it does have a tendency to sometimes just sit in the rad and block that up without more flow
Holy shit man, you look just like my dad when he was my age!!!😮
It worked on my car. But 1 week after, the radiator and water pump started to leak.
I guess high pressure in the coolant system cuz some cells in the radiator must be clogged
They make it almost in possible for you to claim the guarantee you have to scrap or get it basically fixed with proof before they will give you any guarantee 😂
