I think you need to review more relative to what the vehicles have. You can only get most those options in an amarok if you pay over 60k for one and then it still misses out on some stuff but you have a big powerful motor. Also the triton only has leather and most the other features in the top spec close to 60k again. So all your paying for is branding most the time when you go to a premium brand. LDV have packed the T60 with loads of modern tech you don’t get in any premium brand at the same price. And the T60 is just as capable as any premium brand anyway.

I've got a 2019 T60 on steel rims and maxxis bighorns. Snorkel, 450kg rated hardlid and the iplay throttle controller. I've had water on the windscreen multiple times, had snow up to the door runners and been miles down sandy beaches without getting stuck once. I bought the tradie version and it's been awesome for loading up and towing, the higher end model has lots of fluffy stuff that isn't worth paying for.

Good to see you back in the bushfire country Crafty. The Chinese product is on the improve and will continue to do so. Like so many 4×4 Utes, many do not go beyond
The burbs or semi- rurality! Loaded up to the gunnells with humans and lots of stuff, for me at least the acid test is what you can rely on out in the bush.
A proven track record , knowledge of the products abilities, because some of us humans over estimate our own ability. This product has a long way to go in the
reputation stakes, yet I know a couple gardening contractors who have these and who have nothing but positive things to say about it, time will tell.

I've just purchased one of these and to be honest cant wait to receive it. Take delivery next week and the metallic blue is quite striking . I'm was not after a Hilux or Ranger etc and are aware of the models inadequacies. One thing I can be sure of though it will deliver exactly what I'm after and its way easier on my pocket. We owned a Great Wall for 8 years and despite the bad reviews, we managed 295,000kms. To ensure we don't get faded pain over time, this time we opted for paint protection as an added extra. Bring it on I say... Thank you LDV Australia...

They still offered the full 7yr warranty from sales date. No regrets and a lot of car for the money.

Ive owned an LDV for a few years now. Question would i buy another one ..NO!. They are stacked with extra's sure but ive had trouble with just about every sensor . Ive given up on the rain sensor fix. The blind spot sensor fix. The gearbox has had a constant problem with shirting down gears. Seems fixed now but who knows with LDV.. The 2.8L engine at 110 kw is a real agricultural slug . Towing by 1.5 ton boat is painfull going up any kinda hill. 5 year warranty is essential however mainstream dealers really treat you like a second class citizen ...the term you get what you pay for gets thrown up alot. Car comes back with the same issue not fixed.
I do suggest only buy one if you really have to.They are just just OK and you have to put up with a very unrefined car. Nissan or Triton are really better value..

    LDV group introduction from google:
LDV Group Limited, formerly Leyland DAF Vans, was a British van manufacturer based in Washwood Heath, Birmingham. Historically part of Rover Group and Leyland DAF, it was latterly a wholly owned subsidiary of the Russian GAZ Group. Owing to the global recession and a lack of long term investment, production was suspended at the LDV factory in December 2008.After a series of failed rescue attempts, the intellectual property rights were sold by administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers to Eco Concept in 2009, who sold them to SAIC Motor in 2010, with its Maxus subsidiary commencing production in China in March 2011.

The LDV is not available in the UK and it most probably isn't emission compliant here. In its current form it probably wouldn't sell well anyway, for a combination of reasons. It lacks the 1 ton payload capacity that is essential for tax reasons as a four door pickup here, so VAT and 100% tax relief would not apply as it would not be classed as a dual purpose vehicle. Then there's the towing capacity. Nearly all commercial business bought pickups need 3.5 tons towing capacity to compete here. It is only a year or two ago that the Mitsubishi Triton L200 gained that capacity here, but now they are pulling out of Europe altogether. Then there's the suspension. It needs a more compliant unladen ride by the looks of it, to compete with the gold standards set by VW and Ford. Which reminds me that it isn't just Mitsubishi that Europe is losing but also the VW Amarok and the Mercedes X-Class, not that the latter sold more than a handful anyway. Brands seem to be dumping their pickups due to statutory corporate CO2 emissions targets and penalties, and the pickups are just too thirsty and pull their fleet average to the penalty area. If legislators had any sense they would class commercial vehicles that are needed to carry and tow and work off-road, like pickups, separately from cars of the same brand. They do this in America.

Looks nice but seems unreliable in the long run.
Top-notch review as usual Carsguide. Cheers!

Not sure if I'd ever buy a Chinese designed and manufactured car or ute. Also, this thing is not pretty to look at.

They’re rubbish, test drove one last week. Loud, hard ride and lacks power. Also the 10 inch screen is of very poor quality. It only does basic media and not much else to it. The heated seats only do one side of the seat 😂🤦🏻‍♂️ My one bum cheek was burning though so that was very very average haha. The good things are the sliding lockable tray lid, and the little extras for the price. But let’s be honest it’s garbage.
