    Its almost like these Aussie car review videos are too worried about upsetting the bigger brands. Just tell us all the good points about this Ute. Not all the "not quiet there " . It has 4 wheel disc brakes, electric handbrake, ZF 8 speed gearbox , Built in sprayed tub liner. 7 year unlimited KM warranty and a bigger payload than top brands. Also rear AC which many Utes dont have. In another Aussie mega Ute test it out braked the ranger by over 4 meters from 100kmph. But nobody mentions these things.
    Yes its not perfect, but its certainly disrupting the market. Lots wont buy this brand.
    They sold over 700 units in Aust for May according to Vfacts. Prob not going to hurt the Top two brands, but the tier 2 players will be worried. Its stealing sales from somewhere.

    I have the cannon x it's only $40 900 not $49 000 mine has a lot more than the cannon l . I absolutely love my new truck runs great, drives very well, 100% happy. Mate of mine just bought Nissan and it already had a recall, he paid a lot more then I did and mine has a lot more technology than his, he is now looking to get rid of his and buy a cannon x. I am a house painter and it is always loaded with heaps of gear and you would never no it the way it drives, if you buy a new truck because of its name (ford, Toyota, Nissan) this truck isn't for you, but if you want quality for money then the cannon x is the best one on the market today, i love my new truck,

    Looks and sounds good. I bought a top of the range Musso for $42k, sold it 8 months later for $38k, just lost the GST. Really good ute, heaps of tech and features, drove like a car, but I needed a wagon, the Musso was too long, huge tray, but packed full of features like this GWM. Poor mate at the local dealership had a LDV and was back for the 12th time, saw him push it into the rear of the dealership, he wish he had bought a Musso over the LDV. So this is tempting...

    THAT'S HILARIOUS
    When people buy a ute, everyone tells them to buy an idrive which is increases throttle sensitivity.
    And GWM build it into the car and you complain you want it less responsive.
    This really does go to show that you can't win everything. There's always going to be someone complaining.

    • @ardyaprilianta9732
      @ardyaprilianta9732 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My stock bt50 was sluggish on the stock throttle response. There are times nearly cause accidents due to slow response when you try to pull out from a corner. Having idrive/ sharper throttle in a diesel car could be life savings. If you drive ur ute on urban settings, its a must have.

      So excuse the dumb question but is the vehicle going to show an improvement from the installation of the “idrive “ or does that only improve the initial throttle response which this review states it has a good initial response ?

    • @123fourfive5
      @123fourfive5 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonyannuccelli2499 These systems are kind of tricking the computer into thinking the accelerator is pressed down further than it actually is.
      So if it already has a "sports mode" or throttle sensitivity adjuster, I don't think installing an additional idrive will help.
      But I could be wrong. One thing idrive claims they can do is eliminate turbo lag. Now most of the time, I don't think it's turbo lag it's eliminating. I think it's accelerator lag when the computer tries to smooth out the throttle imput for a less jerky drive and better fuel economy. But if it does reduce turbo lag, I would be very interested to learn how and I would definitely want one, even if the car has a built in throttle response box.

    There is a lot of brand snobbery in the Ute market, particularly in regional areas. The Hilux and Ranger are ‘the’ utes to have while picking the kids up after school, no matter what the reality may be. If you want an actual utility vehicle for what it is designed for, there isn’t that much between them apart from price. But as someone who has driven them all recently, if you want one as a family tourer and general around town car the Amarok is the best, with or without a manual box and low range.
    If you want a Ute to actually carry stuff around a farm or as a tradesman vehicle, the GWM isn’t bad, especially when you can buy two of the bottom of the range ones which have all the safety gear for the price of one top of the range Hilux or Ranger. The gear box in GWM has been around for a long time in other vehicles, the chassis is ex Isuzu, the steering is Toyota and the electronics are the same chips as most of the other brands and it has a 7 year warranty.

    • @gill7087
      @gill7087 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @David D Rubbish, any of the main brands could do what Toyota do in so called ‘mining’ camps. Toyota’s get bought by the mining companies because Toyota give them the biggest discount for buying large quantities of stripped down basic utes that a normal person wouldn’t want to drive or own.
      Totyota has the economies of scale to offer the utes at huge discounts to any company who can buy more than 50 at a time. I’ve heard this famous ‘mining company’ crap from exactly the people who buy into the advertising.Many large companies buy all sorts of utes and vehicles for whatever works out best price.
      When I was young, land rovers and Toyota’s were all that was available for use in remote areas and yes, Toyota’s were more reliable. That was more than 40 years ago (and yes I drove them for work everywhere from Katherine, to far North SA to the Nullarbor and everywhere in between)
      In remote Aboriginal communities the kids don’t call them utes, they call them ‘Toyota’s’ no matter what the brand. But they are no longer the best, the Ranger is a better vehicle for most commercial circumstances and the Amarok is better for private use and I suspect the GWM will turn out to be as good within a few short years and at its current price it’s unbeatable. I heard it described as 80% as good as a Ranger at 60% the price.
      But please don’t give me that ‘mining vehicle’ rubbish, the mining groups buy whatever they can get the cheapest and whatever they can then sell for the highest price at auction. They keep the myth alive of their “unbreakability’ because it’s good business. Nothing more. Frankly, anyone who buys a twin cab Ute for a normal day to day family vehicle is doing themselves and their families a disservice. But yes, I hear the snobbery dressed up as fact all the time.

    • @gill7087
      @gill7087 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @David D you get what you pay for? So explain a Mercedes Benz A class, no better than a Corolla and slightly less reliable. Maybe a Mercedes x class class, $100,000 on the road and is a Nissan with a Mercedes badge. Then there are fridges like Kelvinator, Westinghouse and Electrolux. Made by the same people with the same motors and electrics but different prices for the same thing. You have a phone or a iPad? Guess who makes them. The electronics and chips in your tv? Toaster, electric kettle, lights, air conditioner? I suspect half your house has Chinese made items in that you don’t even know where made there. China is our second biggest trading partner and our largest source of consumables.
      So where to buy our crap, the communists or capitalists? Damn hard to tell the difference these days.

    • @gill7087
      @gill7087 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @David D so we have agreed that you don’t necessarily get what you pay for good, we are making progress. ok then let’s talk utes.
      Toyota Hilux, Mazda BT 50, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navarra, Isuzu Dmax, Ford Ranger and formerly Holden Rodeo. Do you like any of them? Happy to buy any one of those robust, mining camp resistant 4 wheel wonders so beloved of the Australian blue singlet brigade. You know, anti damn communist engineering at its finest. Well... I won’t mention where some of the steel, plastic parts, electronic chips, electrical wiring and seats are made.
      I will mention those utes are all made in Thailand which has been controlled by a ruthless military junta for many years and where dissent is usually crushed fairly swiftly and aggresively including arrest and incarceration without trial. Happy to buy your ute from them? They are not communist anyway.
      Of course there is always the Amarok which is built in Argentina which is no longer ruled by a military junta as they were a couple of decades ago but ultimately they are a German vehicle and they were responsible for 2 world wars and the death of over a hundred million but hey, all is forgotten right?
      Not many vehicles left then. So tell me, which one do you own,? I can probably tell you how much was manufactured in a country with an oppressive regime and you can remove those parts. (I was going to suggest a bicycle but guess where most are manufactured?)

Blu-Ray player/streaming services would be nice. Think about it... 4x4 as a tourer/camper, and now you have Blu-Ray/Netflix=glamping. Game changer.
    Even though I would never own a Chinese car, I am excited to see the release of the Cannon. I believe GWM and LDV will steal the budget Triton buyers, and have a new fan-base-owners who don't wanna spend 50k+ for a vehicle. This will shake up the market and the budget spec Triton will need to step up it's game. Which, I believe it will fail with it's Nissan Alliance. Look at the new Navara-shithouse.

      Well I mean, you can't expect it to have something like 213kw. It's a 4 cylinder diesel in a ute, and besides it's not the kw that matters in a ute, it's the Torque. It has kind of good torque for it's class

    The only thing that's wrong with this car (for some people) is that its Chinese and currently seems politically wrong to buy em. For business owner, this is a very good ute, buy 2 for the price of 1 hilux. But you will always got someone saying "but the hilux will run forever..".

      I have a 10 year old nissan that is now worth nothing due to the apparently well known YD25 timing chain issue, so it cost me a lot more than one of these, still worth nothing ... and just clocked over the 200000kms before chain went, and was 2 months or 2000kms before next service due, so not a maintenance issue, and that is why I am looking at reviews of the cheapies
