  • THIS is how it should be done (insert name of company here)!!! Plug and play. There should be no excuse why a device can't be seen by the iPad and used without a boatload of cables.
    Thank you Roland!

    Thanks for the "tutorial" do you know, what are the 2 "inputs" from E-4, shouldn't it just be mono microphone? Where in the signal, does the iPad come in, pre or post EFX? Can you use the iPad as an "insert" so as to add more efx to the E-4? Thanks!

  • @alexandrosroussos
    @alexandrosroussos ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the video man, liked/subbed. It's really great to see Roland finally making USB Audio/MIDI Class Compliant devices.
    Do you know if it also works the other way with an input from the iPad through USB to the E4, so you can use it for monitoring the master audio from the mix-out ? That would avoid the need to use a special hub with mini-jack-out or a hub + dongle/sound card ?

    • @krazywabbit
      @krazywabbit  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks and subbed back. I believe it does as it acts as an audio interface. I’m in the middle of getting ready for a big move. Once I get settled in, it’ll be a month, I’ll got back a revisit.

    • @alexandrosroussos
      @alexandrosroussos ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@krazywabbit it would be really cool actually as it would serve not only as a mic preamp, a vocal fx processor / looper but also as an audio monitor out with master FX / looper for live perf or for remixing and recording back to the iPad. Crazy possibilities if it’s possible and even crazier possibilities if it routes the audio coming from the iPad through USB to the FX.
      Basically a 2 out / 2 in audio interface with built-in FX (the mic in being stereo from my understanding).
      Also notice this unit has a hidden secondary mono input on the mix-out using a TRRS splitter. I guess it merged the signal to the stereo input you showed in AUM.

      Thanks for watching! I setup up all three with the Zoom H6 and the Rodecaster Pro II. I am having some issues with cables (another story/video). The iPad can only read one audio interface. The three (T6, J8, E4) are essentially audio interfaces and iPad will only read one if trying to connect with USB cables. Once I get some cables that I ordered, I will do a video showing the use of the RCP II and Zoom. From there, you can see where trying another audio interface might work.

    This is really cool! I have a noob question, though. Is it possible to use a Bluetooth speaker as an output? The idea would be to speak into the microphone, which goes through the Roland E4 and we hear the live sound on a Bluethoot speaker that is connected to the iPad (no recording required). If possible, how to deal with the (likely) feedback sound which is going to be produced. Thank you!

    This video shows how to route audio from the E-4 into the iPad, but then by default it sends the audio back out to the E-4., so the iPad's built in speakers don't work. You can send the audio out to an Airplay speaker but that causes a delay. Is there a way to just have the iPad play the audio through its built in speakers?
