I was looking for how the heck do I change channels for midi out, and you just straight up show it here. your channel is just insanely underrated man. THANKS for these e-4 tutorials!! just SO in love with mine + using itnwith the model samples
Did you try it? I got a circuit tracks about a month ago and i am thinking of getting the E4. Will the E4 get recorded in circuit tracks on track MIDI 1 or MIDI 2 lets say and be sequenced properly like a hardware synth? Or will it just sync to the Tracks' BPM and record the voice in itself?
Any chance you can help me figure out how to use timeclock with the boomerang loopers? I would like to get the time clock to other devices to keep everything in sync.
You chose wisely! I just got my XLR to 1/8 cable today and can’t wait to fire it up! Funny to hear people complain the E-4 doesn’’t have XLR input. This sounded great and what type of cable(s) you used did not matter one bit!
My cable is missing some shielding and I have to cut quite a bit of noise out when I edit the videos haha, I'm excited to get a new one! Thanks for watching :)
I believe there are some free vocal effect (autotune, harmonize, etc) plugins you can get for your DAW if you're feeling the itch to do something like I did in the video. Thanks so much for watching!
This morning I had no desire to own the E-4. Just not for me. However, after watching a few of your brilliant videos, I find myself questioning how I survived so long without one. Thanks! (I think 🤔)
very cool gizmo... but once again, after the v-3 and the gimmick full v-4, I still don't see why Roland has not added a de-esser. Surely this is one of the most essential elements of a Vox processor? I'd love to hear why this hasn't yet been incorporated when far older devices already implement it. Loved the video though.
I have the two other compacts but I am kind of on the fence for this one, I've had the Aira VT-3 and used it very little, so will I have a use for the E4?.... erm your video suggests I might... that sounds awesome, thanks for the video.
The E-4 is definitely awesome, but what would make you use it over the VT-3? Just curious, as I don't have any experience with the VT line. Thanks for watching!
Can we get a dual vocoder session/comparison? Microfreak & E-4. Microfreak as controller for the e4 and separate mics? Could be cool Edit, just made it to the end lol thanks
I'll say right now that the E-4 vocoder is much better than the Microfreak's, at least when it comes to understandability. The power of the Freak's vocoder is all of those great modulation options haha. Thanks for watching!
I might wind up with one eventually, just to cover for the channel, but I don't think I need one haha. Especially after throwing the J6 oscillator on my NTS-1! Thanks for watching :)
@@FreeBeat Roland’s acb is really good. Not something easily mimicked. The J6 as an arpeggiator is it’s selling point, but the sound engine is def quality.
Standalone I feel the E-4 is just a gadget. Combined with MIDI input you enter a completely different game, and I can see why you are having so much fun!
Definitely! If you're already a good singer, I think it can be a pretty cool device standalone, but MIDI makes it usable for any of us. Thanks for watching :)
Love this and your video with the MIDI keyboard into the E-4 as well.
Thanks so much!

Happy to help, thanks so much for watching!
Pretty freaking cool Bud... Turning your voice into a synth!
You're in True Cuckoo territory now FB! He'd be impressed, I'm sure! Wow! I love your creative ideas and your presentations so much! Thank you!!!!
Haha that's high praise, I love his videos! Thanks as always :)
Such a fun sound! I’ve never thought about combining a vocoder and sequencer/arpeggiator before.
It's a lot of fun!
Great jam!
Daft punky or what !!!! Love it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
Man that's sweet! Funky! Going to try this out with my E4 and Circuit. Another fun thing to try: pipe the E4 through the NTS1 for better effects
That will be a lot of fun! And yeah I definitely think I'll do that haha. Thanks for watching :)

Excellent jam and those scatter fx were sweet!
Thanks for watching!
Yay more e-4!
Glad you're liking the E-4 content!

I wouldn't be very helpful at all haha, sorry!

You are doing such a good job, I don't know how long before I give in to order one. ( I also subscribed to GAS therapy channel)!

Lots of fun!!!
Indeed it is!
Furthermore the VT-4 doesn't have the looper/record part.
Imo the E-4 Is terrific value for money :D
Don't doubt your purchase x')
That's true, although I haven't used it at all yet hahaha. Thanks as always!
can you sequence notes with the looper (and only play notes where you put steps on the cycles)
I don't believe you can sadly, but I could be wrong. Thanks for watching!
Haha this is so cool. Would love to see the E-4 with the MPC One. Maybe you could use a filter automation or something like that.
I hadn't even thought of using them together, since the MPC already has vocal effects on it, but I'll have to give them a shot! Thanks as always :)
Awesome. I'm gonna see if I can recreate this idea in software with autotune or a vocoder plugin and an arppegiator. But I really want the E4
It's a lot of fun! Thanks for watching :)
👍 I can't wait to play with that crazy E-4 thing!
It's a lot of fun!

Is it necessary to use an audio interface to listen to the audio of the cycles and the e4 through the same speaker? Thank you!

Impressive video!

Playing Castlevania on nes while listening to your videos
Awesome haha, thanks for watching (listening)!
Insane amounts of fun👌☮
The vocoder is a usable beat!
It certainly is!
I wish it had the 5 pin midi myself
Me too, it was just convenient that they both had 3.5mm in this case haha. I'd much prefer them both to have 5 pin.
Love it❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
someone needs the J-6 ;)
